## What is Turninn?

You know what time you should go to bed. You also know you won't — not because the time is hidden, but because nothing in your day gently reminds you it's coming. Turninn is a bedtime countdown that lives on your Lock Screen, your Home Screen, and your Dynamic Island — always in the corner of your eye, never in your face. It treats the hours before bed as something to be quietly handed back to you, not taken from you.

Turninn asks two questions, once: when do you want to wake up, and how long do you want to sleep. That's it. From then on, you almost never open the app again. Your countdown takes its place among the widgets you already use — the weather, the battery, the calendar — so that a glance at your phone during the day is also a small, wordless check-in with yourself.

On the Lock Screen, Turninn fits into the circular, rectangular, or inline slots your screen already has. The circular widget shows a soft lunar arc and a number small enough to belong. The rectangular widget is a single line of plain language: hours and minutes until bed, tonight's bedtime beneath it. The inline widget is a whisper at the top of your screen — a crescent and a few quiet characters.

On the Home Screen, the small widget is a full pane of glass with a slow hourglass that thins through the day. The medium widget adds your wake time and your chosen sleep length, so the whole plan for tonight sits on one square of your screen. Once bedtime passes, the widget stops counting down and simply tells you how long ago it went by.

Sixty minutes before bedtime, Turninn starts a Live Activity. Your Dynamic Island shows a bed glyph and a calm countdown. On the Lock Screen, a narrow banner does the same thing. It does not have a snooze button. It does not have a "got it" button. There is nothing on it you can press to make it go away, because the feeling of being able to press the feeling away is the feeling that kept you scrolling in the first place.

At bedtime, if you've turned the soft nudge on — it's off by default — you get one silent, passive notification. No sound, no badge, no red dot. Open it and you land on a full-screen page with a short line written in the tone of someone wishing you well. Tap Goodnight, and the app is done with you until morning.

Turninn has no account, no cloud, no streaks, no score, no history graph, no theme store, and no subscription. It does not read your Health data. It does not know if you actually slept on time. It is not here to grade you; it is here to keep the number in view. Your bedtime and your wake time are the only two things it knows, and they never leave your device.

Designed for iOS 17 and later. Works entirely offline. Available in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, and Brazilian Portuguese.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.2 — 2026-08-13

Fixed a widget that told you the wrong thing.

Once your bedtime had passed, the Home Screen widget kept showing "to bedtime" next to the number — so twelve minutes late looked like twelve minutes left. It now says how long ago bedtime went by, in every language Turninn speaks.

Turninn's store page is also now written in all nine of them.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-05-12

Tonight just got tighter. Sharper typography across the home view and widget, smoother bedtime reminder behavior, and a quieter About screen. Bedtime, in view.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-05-07

Turninn now speaks nine languages: English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Français, Deutsch, and Português Brasileiro.

The widget has a new look — a horizon gradient and larger numbers, easier to read from the Lock Screen or Home Screen.

A new app icon, designed for iOS 26.

When you return to Turninn, the widget refreshes right away.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-05-04

New Horizon sky visual: the Tonight tab and Home Screen widgets now fade
from warm dusk into deep night, with stars appearing in the final hour.

A few quiet fixes: Settings icons read clearly in dark mode, Home Screen
widgets blend cleanly with the rounded container, and the Dynamic Island
countdown no longer clips.

Rest well.

### 1.0 — 2026-04-22

No release notes.
