## What is TurtleShop?

TurtleShop takes the stress out of the weekly shop.

Plan your meals, build your list, and get to the shops — from one app that works across iPhone, Apple Watch, and the Lock Screen.

Plan your week
Choose the meals you want to cook next week and TurtleShop automatically adds all the ingredients to your shopping list. Arrange meals by day, mark them as cooked when you're done, and start planning next week with a single tap.

Recipes, the smart way
Attach a recipe to any meal. Paste a link from any food website and TurtleShop pulls the ingredients, method, prep time, and cook time automatically. Or photograph your cookbook — on devices with Apple Intelligence, on-device AI reads your pages and structures the full recipe privately, without leaving your phone. Open a recipe for a focused cooking view with a tappable checklist, numbered steps, and a keep-screen-on mode so your phone stays lit on the counter.

Shop Smarter
Tap Go Shopping to start a trip — in-store or online. Items are ordered by the route you walk, so you never double back. Tap to add to your trolley. A Live Activity tracks your progress from the Lock Screen. Apple Watch support means you can check your list without getting your phone out mid-aisle.

Organised by location in your house.
Group items by where they live — fridge, pantry, bakery, or wherever works for you. Your shopping list sections by location automatically.

Built for families
Share your list with family using iCloud. Everyone sees changes in real time. Set a Shopping Day reminder so you never forget to check your list before heading out.

Siri Ready
Say "Add something to TurtleShop" and Siri asks what you'd like — no unlocking needed. Or connect to Apple Reminders for instant import.

Family Sharing
One subscription covers your entire family. Share your shopping list with family members via iCloud so everyone stays on the same page.

Free to Try
Get 5 full shopping trips completely free. Subscribe to Premium for unlimited trips and full access to every feature.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-08-30

What's New (v1.3)

Features
• Recipes: Attach a recipe to any meal — paste a URL from any food website and TurtleShop pulls the ingredients and method automatically. Or photograph your cookbook and using Apple Intelligence, on-device AI reads your cookbook pages and structures the full recipe for you, privately, without leaving your phone. Open any recipe for a dedicated cooking view with a tappable ingredient checklist, numbered steps, and a keep-screen-on mode so your phone stays lit on the kitchen counter. Use the serving stepper to adjust how many people you're cooking for and every ingredient quantity scales automatically.
• Shopping Day Reminder: Set a notification to remind you to go shopping — choose the time right from the Settings page.
• Tutorial: A new Tutorial screen in Settings walks you through every part of the app — from ticking items and setting staples on your shopping list, to planning meals, opening recipes, and using Siri shortcuts.

Bug Fixes
• The keep screen on button in the shopping list has been made more intuitive.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-08-21

What's New

Features

• Browse by Location — Tap any location to see all its items organised into Staples, Meal Ingredients, and New Items. Tap an item in the New Items section to add it to your shopping list (it turns green); tap again to remove it.
• Smarter + Button in Locations — When browsing a location, the + button adds a new item directly to that location with no location picker needed.
• Swipe to Delete in Location View — Swipe left on any item in the location browse view to delete it.
• Cleaner Post-Shop Screen — The screen after completing a trip now says "Trip complete" and the cart icon no longer animates.
• Simplified Location Editing — The edit location sheet now focuses on the name only.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue where swiping to make an item a staple (from the Meal Ingredients page) didn't add it to the shopping list. Any items already affected by this will be corrected automatically on launch.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-17

New features

• Skip items while shopping — Long press any item during a shopping trip to move it to a "Not Needed" section. It stays out of the way but isn't deleted. Tap it to bring it back at any time.
• Keep screen on — A new sun/moon toggle in the Go Shopping toolbar lets you keep the screen permanently lit while you shop. Sun keeps it on, moon lets it sleep as normal. You can also set your preference ahead of time in Settings.

Bug fixes

• When picking a previous item from the suggestions list while adding a new item, it now goes back into its original location rather than wherever the location picker happened to be set.
• Long-pressing a meal in the planner to drag it, then letting go without moving it, no longer leaves the app stuck or causes the meal to appear in the wrong day.
• Adding an item while in Go Shopping mode now correctly shows the New/Staple selector, just like adding from the main list.
• Adding an item after finishing a shopping trip and returning to the main list also now shows the New/Staple selector correctly.
• The blue meal count badge now appears on items inside the Locations screen, not just on the main shopping list.
• Adding an ingredient to a meal then cancelling before saving no longer leaves a ghost row in the ingredients list.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-07-14

What's New

Apple Watch gets meals — A new Meals complication for the rectangular watch face slot shows today's and tomorrow's planned meals at a glance, right from your watch face. Tap it to jump straight to the full meals list.

Meals tab on Apple Watch — Swipe across to a new Meals page in the Watch app to see this week's planned meals in your shopping-day order. Tap any meal to mark it as cooked.

Siri on Apple Watch — You can now use Siri directly on your Apple Watch to add items to your shopping list and ask what's for dinner tonight. Previously Siri commands on the Watch weren't being handled correctly — that's now fixed.

Cleaner Watch list rows — Item rows on the Apple Watch shopping list now show the same colour indicator dots as the iPhone app, so you can tell at a glance whether an item is new, a staple, or part of a planned meal.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-05

Now with Apple Watch complication!

• New: Apple Watch complication. Add TurtleShop to your watch face for an at-a-glance ring showing how much of your shopping list is decided — green for needed, red for not needed — with the turtle in the middle. Looks great on both Multicolour and tinted watch faces.
• Better adding on Apple Watch. New items now default to a sensible location, and staples are added without being auto-ticked — matching how the iPhone app works.
• Smoother navigation. The tab bar hides and reappears more reliably, with cleaner animation when re-adding items.
• Minor fixes and stability improvements.
