Still has minor quirks - I'm not seeing it auto-expand all content warnings, and some media is blurred, even though I turned those both off. But - minor quibbles, I'm sure fixed at some point soon. ### 5/5 — A feature-rich and mindful Mastodon client *2023-01-25, version 2023.2* Tusker is all about getting the most value out of your time on Mastodon without getting hooked on it. It excels at helping the user distil posts on Mastodon into an easily digestible format. You can focus in on just what you’re interested in by creating lists of posts with specific hashtags or from specific users. Or you can zoom out and see posts, links, and hashtags which are trending. You can even visit timelines from other instances to see different communities in action. You can even save things to read later with the “Bookmarks” feature. Best of all, it has several great customisation options to help users avoid developing addictive patterns. My favourite are the ability to disable infinite scrolling, and the option to make all images black-and-white. I feel more in control of my usage of Mastodon while still reaping the benefits of it. Try this app and you’ll figure out Mastodon pretty quickly! The UI seems inspired by some of the nicer Twitter apps from the past which should help make it easier to use. The UI for following additional instances is pretty nice, and there are easy ways to manage the tags and such you’re following (something that’s otherwise not very easy to do in most apps yet). Solid initial release! ### 5/5 — Excellent start *2023-01-23, version 2023.2* This is an excellent start for a Mastodon client on the Mac. Plus you can't beat the price of free! Please keep up the good work. I particular enjoy able to quickly switch to one of my lists. I would like to make one request. Please make the content font size adjustable. The default font size on my Mac screen is way too small. On iOS devices or Mac laptops they are fine, but not on my desktop Mac. Pleaase consider adding this feature. Couldn’t find it anywhere else. ### 4/5 — A little challenging to set up but it works *2025-07-02, version 2025.1* Once you find that the settings menu is under My Profile | Preferences, which isn’t immediately the obvious place to look it all becomes much easier to get the app to do what you want. Supports multiple instance accounts, pinned hashtags etc. I shall continue to evaluate it but so far it looks pretty good. ### 4/5 — Missing License *2024-10-11, version 2024.4* Great app, but the source code doesn’t have a license included, so while you can read the code and download this app for free it’s not clear if this is really FOSS. ### 4/5 — Solid Lightweight Mastodon App *2023-12-30, version 2023.8* I have used almost every Mastodon app and keep settling on Tusker. It has great design and UX and well-thought settings. The UI could be a little better with the option to increase the font size independent of iOS accessibility settings and push notifications would also be welcome. Kudos to the developer and hopefully a little refinement comes to the app in 2024. ### 4/5 — This would be five stars but for one issue. *2023-06-30, version 2023.5* Ok #Tusker , ok. This is some strong work. Features I havent seen anywhere else, well organized Settings, and just some really good ideas. LOVE the Digital Wellness settings. Just really thoughtful. What’s Missing : Can only select images or videos from iPhone’s Photos library. Please add iCloud Drive and other alternate sources. Gonna put some funds in their tip jar and hope they add alternate image and video file sources like iCloud Drive. … also the draw something thing! Very easy to read. Excellent timeline browsing functionality. Missing: iOS notification support. ### 5/5 — Simply the best *2023-11-03, version 2023.7* I've tried the majority of Mastodon clients on iOS and this is my number one choice. The main benefits for me are: grouped notifications, macOS support, and a very responsive developer. I was happy to support the app with a tip! Mona is the only other client that comes close but it requires a subscription and imho it's still not as good as Tusker. ### 5/5 — Don’t forget to tip the dev! *2023-10-27, version 2023.7* Nice mastodon client, and totally free. Regularly updated with new features. The tip jar is buried down in “my profile” > “preferences” > “tip jar” - I always encourage supporting apps that make purchase optional, so leave a tip when a new version comes out if you can afford it! ### 5/5 — TOP *2023-04-29, version 2023.4* I have gone through almost every mastodon client and this has got to be the smoothest and most straight forward I've used.
