The app is so clean and well made. If I had one critique though, it’s that the widgets are kinda ugly and I want to use them on my Mac. Also an Apple Watch app with just the TV Shows, Movies and Calendar tabs would be pretty awesome! Love that the widget uses the entire space to display the movie or show. “Shows behind” is a nice touch. Cant wait for more updates. ### 5/5 — Beautiful and Useful App *2025-06-04, version 1.6.4* Having just switched from Trakt to Simkl and this week noticing Epoch mentioned on their Discord, I was intrigued to try out the free trial with my Simkl VIP linked. After only a couple of days I am completely sold and have just bought Premium. I love the clean interface and much prefer the calendar feature on this to what I had on Trakt. It’s playing really well with Simkl for me up to now. Really looking forward to see what this developer adds going forward! ### 5/5 — Great TV tracking app *2025-03-12* This is a great app for tracking tv shows specifically, as this is my primary use case. The app has a lot of features, but also keeps things simple and focuses on just tracking the shows. I tried many apps that went way overboard with bloated features, but made it difficult to do what I was wanting to do. Epoch managed to have a great balance and looks modern and clean. Simkl site says I am caught up on my shows but have new episodes airing tonight. Epoch app says they have already aired. Not a very useful app to decide what to watch when it is recommending shows that won’t air for another 12 hours. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. Epoch uses TMDb as its only data source. SIMKL, on the other hand, uses TMDb only for movies, while TV shows come from TVDb and anime from AniDB. Because of this, release dates can vary depending on the source and the specific rules each platform uses for release dates. Trakt, however, also uses TMDb, so when using Trakt the dates should always match. Sorry about that. Unfortunately, there is not really an option for me to add another data source, as it would require a large amount of time for very little benefit. ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-06-08, version 1.6.4* The app is stuck on iCloud sync form rendering it useless. ### 2/5 — Stuck at syncing with iCloud *2026-01-15* I just reinstalled the App after not using it for a few months. And it is stuck at startup trying to sync with iCloud. I left for more than 10 minutes, closed and reopened, reinstalled, but still no luck. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry about the issues you experienced. Epoch uses Apple’s iCloud sync engine to synchronize data between devices and to download data when the app is reinstalled. Unfortunately, with a large library it can take a long time for the data to synchronize. In the latest version, there is an activity indicator on the sync screen that should better communicate when the data is being synced. Unfortunately, when you close the app or lock the phone, the syncing process stops. ### 2/5 — Needs to be fixed *2025-06-07, version 1.6.4* iCloud Sync Issues – Reinstalling the app resulted in an unusually lengthy iCloud synchronization process. Even reopening the app did not resolve the problem. It tracks shows and movies incredibly well, keeping everything organised and up to date without any hassle. The interface is clean, intuitive, and genuinely easy to use — nothing feels overcomplicated or cluttered. Out of all the tracking apps I’ve tried, Epoch stands out for its simplicity. Everything just works. The ability to switch seamlessly between Trakt and SIMKL is a huge bonus and makes managing your watch history effortless. You can really tell the developer has put a lot of time, care, and effort into this app. It feels polished, reliable, and built with users in mind. I’m genuinely excited to see what features and improvements come in the future. The lifetime premium membership is absolutely worth paying for — honestly, it’s easily worth more than the price asked. I was dreading changing my tv tracker and I’m so glad I found this app ### 5/5 — ShowPal TV Replacement *2025-12-02* I love this app. I used ShowPal TV (aka iShows TV) to track all my tv shows and Ioved it but then it started to glitch and not work and I realized finally it was because no one was updating the app. I wanted to find an app similar to the theme and layout of it because it was clean and simple and easy to use, and it wasn’t full of clutter or socials. I just want a place to track my tv shows and this does EXACTLY that while looking beautiful and I can even choose how to organize it. The fact there’s a movie section as well is very exciting and I plan to use that as well. The options to find new tv shows based on genre makes it easy to find something to watch if I want a new show to binge. I saw a reddit thread where this app was mentioned and I couldn’t thank them since the thread had closed. What a brilliant way to organize tv shows and movies. It feels native to the OS. I love this so much and am really happy I gave this a shot. I don’t usually buy or download apps but I’m so happy and mesmerized by this one. Love the seamless robustness. Everything loads so quickly and everything is super snappy it’s like pulling info from on device. How? Really—REALLY well thought out. Still playing around with things but very intuitive. I’d love to see if there’s a way to automatically categorize by streaming platform and have it automatically move if it ever switches. I know things are often up on the air so it might be impossible, but if it can be done I’m sure you’ll get there.
