Fix Inspector Gadget channel ## Newest reviews (10 of 135) ### 2/5 — Don't bother signing in *2026-05-17, version 7.4.2* I was just about to subscribe for a year when I realised that signing into the app is pointless as your channel listing preferences aren't the same on iPhone and iPad. I thought the idea of signing in was to have the same on both devices ### 2/5 — Layout keeps changing and is now much much worse - very time consuming *2026-01-31, version 7.3.0* Previous review below - they have now changed the format again and it’s very irritating and time consuming having to constantly be scrolling the time bar to see what is on channels throughout the day. Photos are a ridiculous size, so the majority of each screen is taken up with these rather than much more useful TV information. I will now be seeking an alternative as the new format is just too annoying. Don’t know why users can’t be given a choice of layout. PREVIOUS REVIEW: At first I thought the new design was way too complicated, but it isn’t once you have got used to it. No need anymore to be constantly scrolling the screen or time bar, as everything is in front of you. Minimal disruption from adverts. Includes both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes film ratings. A great app. ### 2/5 — Poor and pointless update *2026-01-25, version 7.2.8* Not the first or last app to completely ‘upgrade’ their app design, but it’s now much worse and harder to find anything. Do your developers have a contract meaning they have to do a redesign? No of course not - so why on earth do it?? It clearly wasn’t tested properly or professionally -if it was, you would not have changed it. ### 2/5 — Not keen any more *2026-01-03, version 7.2.8* The updated version of this isn’t as good as previously. Not having the programme times lining up by time is the most irritating thing. Used to be great but considering deleting. ### 4/5 — One of the best (I think) *2026-01-02, version 7.2.8* This is one of the best TV Guide apps available. It does just about everything I need except one thing (which is why I knocked off 1 star). The built in layouts are great and very useful but the app is just missing an EPG style “timeline” with the channels down the left-hand side and the programmes in a timeline across the screen. If it had that then it would be a definite 5 star app. The premium option fee is very reasonable too a few quid for a year is good value to remove the ads, etc. it would be great if it could change channels on my TV but that’s probably a bit too much to expect 😜 P.S. there are a few bad reviews here but they seem to be years old - it’s now a very good app. ### 4/5 — The devs are listening 🙏 *2025-12-06, version 7.2.8* I wrote a disparaging review a few weeks ago as the update was awful… but gradually things are improving, much better with the latest release… although I’m not sure I like the sideways scrolling but still - thanks for listening! 👍 ### 1/5 — Poor update *2025-11-20, version 7.2.6* I’ve had this app for years & it work just fine. Today I’ve opened it up to find it’s been updated & it awful. I’ve lost my custom list & it’s so plane. Why try to change something that worked perfectly in the first place. I will be deleting it & finding another one. ### 1/5 — Massive Battery Drain!! *2025-11-20, version 7.2.6* I've used the new app twice so far. First time, I had my battery charged to 100%, took it off charge, and looked through the films section of the app for 15 minutes. Already, my battery has drained to 49%. Went to bed, and in the morning, while on standby, the app has drained my battery to 1%!! Exact same thing happened to me the next night. Went to bed with about 98% battery, and by the morning, the app had drained my battery to 1% again! It says on my phone's battery usage chart in the settings that all the power was used by this app on background activity. I've not used it since, and my battery has been fine. Unless this gets fixed, I'm not going to renew my subscription. The results are now jumpy/laggy, where the old app let you scroll through smoothly. The search function has been repaired, but I find it a nuisance that it shows you results that aren't even on telly. The biggest letdown for me is the reminders function. I used to set reminders for things that I wanted to watch for the week ahead, which would then all be saved to a list on the app, which I could check, and remind myself of what's coming up. It doesn't seem to have this list anymore. I liked to know what was on in advance, by checking my list, rather than only being reminded an hour before. Not happy at all with this new version of the app, I'm afraid. It's so unfortunate, as I adored the design and functions of the previous version. All I wanted was for them to repair the search engine function, and now it might as well be a new app. It's practically unrecognisable. ### 1/5 — Awful Update *2025-11-19, version 7.2.6* I absolutely hate the new version of this app. Huge adverts are annoying. I can’t download reminders into my calendar. Why not just leave as it was, why this constant need to revamp a perfectly OK app? ### 1/5 — What once was a great app is now pointless. *2025-11-30, version 7.2.6* I used to open this app, see the info I wanted, then watch the TV. Now I seem to spend an age trying to figure out what’s on. It’s simply painful to use now. In particular, I use the app in landscape mode on an iPad. The new layout has useful information in about a 5cm strip from the top of the screen, with 90% of the rest of the screen taken up by either blank space or info I’m not interested in (what is on this channel at 0430 am tomorrow? - who cares!). What’s on channel xxx right now? I don’t know because by the time I’ve swiped left enough to actually find that channel, I’m done caring. Why are there only like three or four channels visible at once? I want to see 8 or 10! I don’t know if the UX designers are new to usability or to computers or what, but the new design is - much less useful - actually uglier - unbelievably wasteful of valuable screen space - nothing like an EPG, which has evolved as the fastest way to find stuff Don’t even get me started on having to sharpen my fingers to tap the 4mm tall space to pick a specific tv programme- Apple’s app design guides actually tell you not to design UIs like this! It’s such a shame but it’s quicker to google what’s on tv now, or bookmark a tv guide web page. The redesign has made this app irrelevant. HOW DID THIS GET THROUGH QA? UPDATE I have now cancelled by subscription, after several years.
