What's New in TVM

9.3

May 11, 2026

Fix for opening record cells requiring long tap. Now issue removed. This update tightens the core TVM workflow from the home screen through export and makes the app feel more complete for day-to-day planning. - Home now centers around the most common TVM scenarios, including Loan Payment, Mortgage Refi, Car Loan, Future Investment, Debt Payoff, Retirement Income, Savings Goal, College Fund, and Emergency Fund. - Custom TVM from the toolbar gives you a blank record when you want to build a scenario from scratch. - Saved scenarios stay on the Home screen so you can compare ideas before changing the inputs. - The detail screen now keeps the scenario name, solve-for target, PV, FV, PMT, time, and rate in one place. - Monthly and annual toggles are built into the inputs, and End/Beg timing stays visible while you work through the math. - The CALC button refreshes the result without forcing you out of the scenario. - Save keeps the current TVM record and updates the derived values tied to that scenario. - Randomize gives you a quick draft when you want to test another assumption. - Reset returns the draft to the saved record so you can recover fast after experimenting. - Share sends a clean scenario summary with the active input values and the computed result. - The result card now shows a labeled answer that matches the scenario instead of a plain numeric output. - The Home list supports search, duplicate, share, and delete actions so saved scenarios stay manageable. - The list sort order lets you compare scenarios by latest, oldest, name, solve for target, or answer. - The spreadsheet now acts like a real table with every stored database field shown as a column. - A local row-number column keeps the record set easy to follow while sorting or paging. - Header taps cycle through ascending sort, descending sort, and no sort to match the way a spreadsheet usually behaves. - Pagination keeps large record sets responsive by loading 250 rows at a time. - The grid stays top aligned so the table feels anchored instead of floating inside a blank panel. - The toolbar help menu gives you quick access to spreadsheet instructions without leaving the view. - Stats now groups records by name and shows record counts, averages, and totals for the saved scenarios. - Stats pages can be shared, which makes it easier to review a set of calculations outside the app. - Search works across Home, Spreadsheet, and Stats so you can narrow down records fast. - Export still supports CSV and JSON, and import still brings those files back into the local database. - Toast banners continue to confirm saves, shares, exports, imports, and deletes. - iPad split view still keeps the list and detail visible together, while iPhone stays compact and easy to use. - The app remains local first, with sqlite-backed storage and no account setup. - The spreadsheet help sheet is easier to reach from the toolbar when you need a quick reminder. - The row-number column stays tied to the current page, which makes sorted tables easier to follow. - Stats detail pages still open a share sheet in one tap, so you can review results outside the app. - CSV and JSON imports keep the same field mapping, which makes round-tripping cleaner. - Search still works across the major views, so moving between Home, Spreadsheet, and Stats stays quick. - The local database behavior is unchanged, so records continue to stay on device. - iPhone and iPad layouts still follow the same core flow, but the screens feel tighter and easier to read. This release is mostly about removing friction: faster scenario setup, cleaner result labels, a better spreadsheet, and a smoother way to review, share, and export TVM calculations.

User reviews

Very good to

Works well on the mac

fast and stable. no crashes on the mac.

Elmo

I like the App interface. The number of periods and interest rate seem to not follow convention. If I enter PV, interest rate and period both in years, and then check monthly boxes on both I calculate monthly payment. More documentation on selection of period and interest rate/period needs to be provided or perhaps a bug exists. Given this inconsistency I have low confidence in this app.
