## What is TVOne Player?

TVOne Player plays the video files you already own — on your television, your phone, your iPad and your Mac.

It has its own player rather than the system one, so the formats that usually fail simply play: MKV, HEVC, 10-bit, multiple audio tracks, and ASS subtitles rendered with the fonts embedded in the file. Hardware decoding keeps it smooth and cool on the device.

YOUR FILES, WHEREVER THEY ARE
• TVOne Server, our free companion for Mac — point it at your folders and every TVOne Player on the network finds it
• Network shares over SMB, discovered automatically or added by hand
• Files on the device itself, dropped in from the Files app on iPhone and iPad

ONE LIBRARY
Posters, episodes gathered under their show, artwork and descriptions, and Continue Watching along the top. Search across everything you have.

PICKS UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Watch positions and watched marks are shared between your own devices, so finishing an episode on the television is known to the iPad. Downloads let you take something with you.

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR HOME
No account, no sign-in, no cloud, no analytics, no advertising. Your videos move directly between your own machines and are never uploaded anywhere.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.4 — 2026-09-22

A season you added to a network share could go missing. Where a release numbers its episodes the same way an earlier season did, TVOne took the two for the same episode and kept only one. It tells them apart now.

On the Apple TV, subtitles, audio, speed and the picture setting can be reached while something plays. Pause and the remote lands on the play button; left and right move along the row, and up reaches the timeline.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-09-20

Streams from TVOne Server start and skip ahead far faster. The subtitle, audio and speed menus open from their buttons instead of covering the screen. Show and episode pages now turn with your iPhone, and there's only one back button. If TVOne Player isn't allowed on your local network, it says so and takes you to Settings.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-18

The bar above your library is the same on every device now: search at one end, refresh and settings at the other. Settings pages all start at the same height.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-04

Watched marks are read from the .nfo files beside your videos on an SMB share, so a film you finished on another player already shows as watched here.

Disconnecting from a TVOne Server gives the pairing back: it asks for the four-digit code again next time. Removing a share takes its videos away with it, and forgets the sign-in for that computer.

TVOne's folder stops listing videos that are no longer in it, including when the folder itself has moved.

Watch history can be cleared as well as picked at, and folders are shown as ~/Movies rather than with your account name in the path.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-03

No release notes.
