### 5/5 — The best Twitter app

*2023-01-20, version 7.2.1*

I feel for the developers of this app. To be cut off completely from the API without any communication is unforgivable. This was my go to app for Twitter. The interface was intuitive and easy to navigate. The official Twitter app is crap and I’m not using it. This has been my last straw with Twitter. I’m closing my Twitter account after I pull my data. What a shame one man, Elon Musk, can destroy so much. In any regard, thanks to the folks at Tapbots for a great app that is now unusable through no fault of their own.

### 5/5 — Thank you devs!

*2023-01-19, version 6.8*

Tweetbot has easily been my most used app over the past decade. I bought the first iteration as it was released back in 2011 and have used it ever since. The app has been such a delight to use and we were fortunate to have software of such caliber. It’s truly terrible that the new Twitter team has decided to immediately revoke access to the API with no regard for developers or users. I will fondly remember using Tweetbot daily. Thank you so much Tapbots team!

### 5/5 — The Best, and ONLY, Way Twitter Made Sense

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

I do not understand how anyone deals with the algorithmic timeline on Twitter’s website or official App. I have used Tweetbot for ages and to see it sunset’d in such a ham fisted and disrespectful way has put me off Twitter. The TapBots team had no warning from Twitter that this was going ti happen and then 5 days after the fact, we all got a nice Tweet from Twitter support declaring “these devs broke the rules lulz!” Inexcusable.

My experience using Mastodon thus far has been splendid, albeit sparse on content since not a ton of folks are there yet. Hopefully with time, we’ll have a great community there.

RIP Tweetbot. I’ll gladly fork over money for Ivory the first opportunity I get. Best of luck.

### 5/5 — So long, and thanks for all the fish.

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

Thank you Tapbots for an amazing app. It’s a shame the service you worked so hard to support and evangelize has forsaken you in the most insulting and incompetent of ways. Your work was appreciated for years, and I happily paid my small portion to have the best experience on the bird site as possible.

Truly one of the all time greats of iPhone apps.

You will be missed. Godspeed.

### 5/5 — Tweetbot makes Twitter better

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

Tweetbot is the only way I have used twitter for many many years. I have Tweetbot on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. I would pay much more than the low annual subscription for it—it is that useful and valuable. Right now, Twitter has unethically shut down third-party app access, including Tweetbot. I’ve been forced to use Twitter’s ‘official’ app—thanks, I hate it. I hope Twitter will come to their senses and re-enable Tweetbot’s API access—but it seems unlikely, at least under current leadership. Until that changes, I am thrilled to be using the early access version of Ivory—the Mastodon client from the good people behind Tweetbot. Onward!

### 5/5 — The best twitter app. Soon to be releasing the best Mastodon App.

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

This has been my go to twitter app for many years. I’m disappointed to see it go. Please update and add an option to tip. I’d like to support you guys financially. I know you’ll be releasing Ivory soon (and it would be kinda cool if this app just “updated” into it). Please be sure to build in a tip option into that app!

I’m already using the TestFlight for Ivory and it’s already my favorite Mastodon client. Missing a couple of features but I know you’ll get to them soon.

Thanks for all your hard work.

### 5/5 — RIP

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

When a lot of people I knew were leaving Twitter, I always said I would go down with the ship. It’s been too important a part of my life for the last decade, and still provided too much value, for me to quit cold turkey.

At least I thought. Since Twitter cut access to third party apps, I haven’t returned. Twitter’s official app and functionality are atrocious, and seem designed specifically to make the experience of accessing the community worse. I know I cut my self among those who have left Twitter, though not for any philosophical reason. Simply put, without the filter of Tweetbot, it is just a bad product.

Seeing that, Tapbots is developing an app for Mastodon has finally convinced me to create an account there, and I eagerly await it’s release.

### 5/5 — Thanks for many great years

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

I got started on Twitter because I had heard of a brand new app called Tweetbot and wanted to try it out. All these years later, I’m still using Tweetbot. I was, until an insecure billionaire’s fragile ego killed off all third party Twitter clients.

Mastodon is a much nicer platform - best of luck with the upcoming Ivory release. I’ve been using the beta for quite some time and it’s really excellent.

Thanks for all the years of support and being the best Twitter experience out there. (Twitter has ads? Who knew? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

### 5/5 — A landmark app

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

Tweetbot is why I ended up engaging a lot more with twitter around 2013. And over the ensuing 10 yrs, I’ve grown my professional network on twitter. I’ve been invited to conferences, to speak at conferences. I met my book coauthor on twitter. And a lot of this woulda been a lot harder if I didn’t have an app for that platform that was a delight to use.

Thank you for a decade of excellent user experience. I can’t wait to pay you again for Ivory.

### 5/5 — Tweetbot was why I used Twitter

*2023-01-19, version 7.2.1*

Now that baby Elon has begun vanquishing the final elements of innovation from Twitter, I come here to say that Tweetbot is the reason I have enjoyed Twitter these last 12 years. Using the official app for one day had made it clear to me that my time on Twitter is coming to an end. Ivory will keep Tweetbot's memory alive, and hopefully we will look back on its loss as a sacrifice towards a more open, decentralized, and innovative social platform. Many thanks to Paul and Mark and their efforts over these many years, and we are fully with you.
