## What is Twingl Road?

Twingl Road is a driving companion that tracks where you are and turns the towns you pass into short, listenable stories—on-device when your phone supports it, and grounded in Wikipedia when it doesn’t.

1. Smart narration: on-device first, Wikipedia when needed
When your device supports on-device AI (Apple Intelligence–compatible setups on iOS, supported on-device models on Android), introductions are generated locally. Your route isn’t sent to us for cloud inference—speech-oriented storytelling stays on the phone as much as the platform allows.
When on-device AI isn’t available, Twingl Road doesn’t leave you in silence. It pulls concise, factual city intros from Wikipedia (summary text in your guide language), so you still hear a clear, accurate welcome to each place. If Wikipedia isn’t reachable or has nothing useful, engineered templates and weather-aware context still produce a natural line instead of dead air.

2. Eyes on the road, story in your ears
Built audio-first for drivers:
Guiding monitors your movement and introduces new areas as you enter them.
Pause anytime for quiet driving; replay when you want to hear it again.
Check this town (or equivalent) triggers a fresh pass when you want to hear the current spot on demand.
3. Personas that match your mood
The same place can sound like a documentary or a road trip with a friend:
Cinematic Storyteller, Local Historian, Friendly Road Companion, Energetic Town Wit—plus custom personas you define yourself so the voice fits your trip.

4. Magazine tab: read deeper, tap outward
Open Magazine when you’re stopped or when a passenger wants more:
Your latest narration is there as ** readable text** alongside themed search shortcuts (heritage, food, views, and more).
Related links blend what the guide extracts with, when helpful, a few hand-picked external links from each article’s “External links” section on Wikipedia—opening maps or the browser, not cluttering the drive with noise.

5. Remote roads and spotty signal
Offline-aware labels: without a full network lookup, the app can still lean on bundled place data to suggest a nearby major city and distance so the UI doesn’t go blank in the middle of nowhere.
On-device narration keeps working where local AI is supported even when the cloud is thin; when AI isn’t on-device, Wikipedia and templates still need occasional connectivity for the best result.
