### 3/5 — Having problems

*2024-01-20, version 11.7*

App worked great for years but within the last few months I’ve been getting a “photos aren’t available locally” error every other time I try to open an image. I checked my Privacy settings as was suggested in a previous reply and Twinviewer was already set to All Photos. Reinstalling didn’t help, only temporary fix I’ve found is that sometimes resetting the devices works.

### 4/5 — Still using it today

*2023-02-12, version 11.7*

It pairs nicely with Procreate when referencing images.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2020-09-16, version 10.8*

This is an awesome app. Thank you developers!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-08-02, version 10.8*

I use this to compare in-progress paintings and reference photos. I am so happy I found this.

### 5/5 — Great support from developer!

*2020-07-18, version 10.8*

First, the app is terrific. I use it to compare images that can be used as examples that show complementary or dissonate differences for teaching. The ability to save as a combined image with captions is just what I needed. And who knows, I could use it to create the next “woman screaming at the cat” meme.
Second, the developer is super-responsive. I emailed a suggestion about Sort Order and in less than 3 days, the app was updated!

### 5/5 — Twin Viewer

*2020-04-20, version 10.4*

I found this app yesterday, exactly what I was wanted, and bought the full version straightaway ! A excellent app and very easy to use

### 5/5 — Great little app. (Update)

*2019-12-09, version 10.4*

I’m a photographer and retoucher. So it’s nice to be able to compare the original photo with the retouched photo.

After the response from the developer I found the exact feature I was looking for. I missed the instruction in the beginning! My mistake! Being able to tap to quickly switch back and forth between the photos so I can easily see what has been changed. Perfect! Paid for the full version after finding this out!

I guess another neat feature would be if there was also an option to have a slider to compare photos. Where you could slide to your finger back and forth and reveal the second image. Similar to the app “Photo Compare.” This would be a really cool way to compare images.

But the app is already wonderful! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! ありがとうございました！素敵なアップです！

### 5/5 — A brilliant little app

*2019-09-12*

2019 update: Still a unique and very useful app.

2015 review: The only iOS app I could find to look at two photos at the same time. Zoom and pan the photos and look at EXIF data. Then you can delete the photo you don't want.

You can look at different photos simply by swiping; most other EXIF viewers make you go to a camera roll to select a different photo.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your encouraging comments. I truly appreciate it!

### 3/5 — Resize plz

*2019-05-02, version 9.0*

Would be great if I could drag the center line. I use this app for reference next to a drawing app, and wish I could make the top or bottom image larger.

### 5/5 — Couldn’t live without it.

*2019-02-09, version 9.0*

This is so good I couldn’t be without it. You definitely can save to your photo album, so I just don’t understand why someone says you cannot.
I’m an artist and photographer and the app is invaluable to see side by side pictures.
I think this app is invaluable to the artist, so if if you need to compare photos and paintings....before and after...say after restoration, or for comparison it’s ideal.
Just DOWNLOAD IT OR BUY IT. It’s good.

### 5/5 — The cost is less than a beer...

*2018-10-07, version 9.0*

I work construction and this app has helped when it comes to comparing before and after pics side by side as opposed to flipping back and forth... not to mention the time/date stamp available for each pic. Well worth $3!!! Never mind that’s the cost of a cheap beer.

### 3/5 — Almost perfect....

*2018-09-30, version 8.3*

This app is great and is well thought out, except for one serious issue. With the save to album feature, you have to manually enter the name of the destination album every time you want to save to it. You are not given a list of your albums to choose from as you are in other apps that access your albums. Why the developer would choose to do this baffles me. It renders the save to album feature awkward and essentially, useless. Hopefully, this issue will be addressed in the next release and I'll be able to give the app the 5-star rating it otherwise deserves.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t view any images…single or twin

*2024-09-25, version 12.3*

The app is saying there are no images to view

### 1/5 — Need more instructions. I purchased it and nothing happens

*2023-10-09, version 11.7*

Used this app once and it worked once. Today nothing would work, so I upgraded and still nothing happens. No choices to choose from. Cannot open my photos to choose anything. Think there might be special instruction somewhere, but where? What is wrong? Would like it to work. Tell me what needs to be done to make it work? If it is broken then please refund my my money. Thank you

### 1/5 — New version doesnt access my photos

*2021-01-12, version 10.8*

The app has worked fine for many years but now it won’t access all my photos. It only gives me the option to select ‘smart album’ that only has a few most recent photos in it. So now the app doesnt function. Very frustrating especially as i have the paid version. Help appreciated

### 1/5 — It could be great, but I rarely use it...

*2019-10-19, version 10.3*

... because it takes far to long/many-taps to select recent photos. I wanted to increase the number of stars because they reduced the number of steps slightly, but not enough for me to use this app.

It should be 4 taps minimum to get going:
(1) open photos
(2) select album
(3) select photo A
(4) select photo B
and bam your comparing photos!

Most photos will be next to each other so you could even eliminate (4). All other options would be available and involve extra taps.

I’ll come back in a couple of months to see if it’s improved or not - hopefully it has.

### 1/5 — Download is free, features arent

*2019-07-15, version 9.0*

I'm not going to pay just to save side by side pictures. The app shouldn't be under the free section of the app store but that's how they draw you in then make you buy the upgrade to do simple things like export the two pictures together. I literally just wanted to see pictures side by side and they want me to pay them for it. Theyre here to make money not satisfy a consumer or offer any better product than the ones already existing. One star.

### 1/5 — Useless trial

*2019-05-16, version 9.0*

Can select two images and look around but can’t see the final image look ?
Useless.

### 1/5 — Poor choice

*2019-04-05, version 9.0*

Difficult to use

### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY!!!!!

*2018-05-11, version 8.3*

This app is a scam. No one should need to pay TWO WHOLE DOLLARS to save images! Would give ZERO STARS if possible! DO NOT BUY!

### 1/5 — Such a con

*2018-02-14, version 8.2*

You need to pay to upgrade for literally everything on the app. It is totally pointless. Cannot save or send the photos you create on there so can just look at in the app whilst your making. Waste of time

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2018-01-23, version 8.2*

You need to pay for the full version just to SAVE a picture

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Reason I bought new iPad

*2025-01-05, version 12.3*

Tried many iOS apps and Windows apps on a Surface pro. This single app is the reason I bought my new iPad. Nothing came close to the ease of use, speed, features, intuitive UI, support, etc.

Had over 10,000 photos I needed to cull quickly and this app fit the task perfectly. 1 very cool feature is the ability to flash full screen images back-and-forth to compare very minor detail. I had 1,000’s of whale photos with very minor differences in details and focus which made this feature alone well worth the price.

### 5/5 — BEST APP for side by side comparison photos

*2024-05-07, version 12.1*

I’ve tried so many apps for side by side before and after photo comparisons and this is definitely the best and easiest to use. Development team is also SUPER responsive!

### 5/5 — great app no subscription fee

*2023-12-05, version 11.7*

This is a perfect app to combine multiple photos for a side-by-side comparison etc. The best part is I don’t have to pay a weekly or monthly subscription for something that I only use like once or twice a year which is why I never had kept an app to do this before, past the trial period.
I didn’t know this until after I bought this app but there’s also a different version which is more expensive and does quad photo comparisons. Had I known before,I might’ve purchased that one instead just to give me a more options for the future.

### 5/5 — Best Before and After app

*2023-03-06, version 11.7*

I am a aesthetician and I use this app for my Before and After pictures!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-09-03, version 11.7*

I’ve been using the full version now for a few years and have found it excellent especially for comparing visual and / or metadata details on almost identical images, prior to Twin Viewer I tried several other similar apps but for me this one was the best, I haven’t felt the need to look any further.

### 5/5 — The perfect app that connects no data about you!

*2022-06-29, version 11.7*

I am going to buy this, not because I need the extra features but it’s everything indeed and the dev actually doesn’t collect your life story (ie personal data)

### 5/5 — An excellent tool

*2021-10-16, version 11.4*

This is an excellent app. Allows me to compare and zoom two photos - and the zoom can be locked or unlocked to zoom together or an individual image. Make sure you allow access to all your photos at the start. Easy to use, a great find! It is easy to select which photos you want and you have access to choose photos from your Recents or any other album on your phone. Love it, thank you!

### 5/5 — Great Viewer

*2021-03-28, version 11.0*

I was looking for an app to open my video game app to play on my card board viewer. *box app allows viewing on my iOS devices now, but no way to split . I tested this app with a screen shot and applied it to both screens , placing my phone in my VR device and it worked perfectly once my eyes adjusted. This is the closest thing I found. If I could open the app instead of a photo and mirror the other side it would allow me to view whatever I want on a portable viewing system anywhere anytime, sitting laying or standing. Without spending $600 on a proprietary VR and AR devices. If the developers can make that I would purchase it. This app does what it says , but can be so much more. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Minor issues

*2021-01-27, version 11.0*

Would be great if Recently Deleted were an available folder on the menu, seeing as more and more apps have managed to implement this option.

Otherwise, best tool for comparing images that I've used; more convenient and quicker than using the layer method in the typical photo editor.

Update: the below is now fixed, thanks!

I noticed (I believe within the last few versions) that the iOS status bar at the top (containing network info, time, battery and other indicators) no longer disappears when attempting to view an image full-screen in the app. This makes image comparisons more difficult or less convenient in some situations (e.g. screenshots taken in the app of zoomed-in portions of an image pair). It would be appreciated if this issue could be fixed by either hiding the status bar and ensuring the image is truly full-screen, or at least giving the option to completely hide it.

### 5/5 — Odd Problem

*2020-10-20, version 10.8*

I like the app but I can’t find any way to upgrade to the paid version. That’s a problem I haven’t run across before. Can you please fix it? Thank you.

UPDATE: I got a response from the developer explaining how to address this problem. Now that I was able to upgrade, I’m happy to give this app five stars.
