### 4/5 — Great Slack alternative, minor bugs

Makes my worklife better by providing a robust channel and DM based messaging utilities. I like that it encourages “Inbox Zero” and not expecting responses immediately. 

Sometimes notification settings seem to change on their own, maybe once a year theres an outage. And could the branding be sexier? sure. But I’m fine continuing to use it as is.

Good app, works well on iPad devices. Only criticism is the app doesn’t always refresh after reading messages so it looks like you still have items unread. It also has a glitch of showing the wrong message preview in the main threads page.

1. Re-ordering channels and threads is essential. I can’t use it until this basic feature exists. This is the main reason that I can’t use it.

Since 6 January 2024, we have been getting none or very delayed notifications. 

We uninstalled and re-installed however nothing changed. 

Normally this gets fixed straight away however its been a few days and are disruptive to our operations. 

Please advise.

Twist is way better than Slack, in my opinion. However, the iOS app never quite gets private message notifications & read receipts right. I constantly need to go onto my desktop app, scroll through a private message, then return to the iOS app to get the unread message indicator to go away.

La hemos adaptado a las necesidades de nuestra empresa y es fenomenal, pero nos hemos quedado sin acceso a temas antiguos con 1 mes, podeis decirnos si aunque sea pagando se puede tener acceso??? o hay algun plan para tner mayor capacidad??

I thought I would get my team on board with this app. Attraction was based on my positive experience with the company’s slick polished Todoist app that I've used for many years.

However, in addition to the text of the iPhone app being far too small, day one, back from meetings, my Mac and phone app icon have a red dot indicating messages. But my inbox is empty, while there’s a little number in the app indicating there’s a direct message, but there isn’t. They are all read.

I then have to fish through various threads where I see there are in fact in some threads with some unread messages, but you have to read back to establish what you’ve read and what you haven’t. All because the notification graphics are so bad, no message count in the icon red dot (on Mac), they are nuts and in threads there’s no colour-coding or shading to show what you’ve read and what you haven’t.

Inbox doesn’t seem to correlate or in fact do anything so I’m about a day away from telling the team, “sorry to have wasted your time, I don’t think this app will work”. Sad really from a usually great developer.

Notifications need to be as snappy and clear graphically as iMessage, WhatsApp and email to drag us onto this app.

People haver to communicate in the office, out, while walking, on various devices at a a fast pace and that needs visual clarity, mental flow as well as speed.

I’ve contacted the developer before but they don’t reply.

Hey sorry I didn’t really give it a chance. I’m trying to find the right app for my team and all the others I was able to log into very easily. This one had me going back and forth between my email, a browser, and the app, and at least one wouldn’t work on time with the rest. Other apps just email or text you a code, I don’t have to open my email app then open my browser to confirm that I confirmed my email and then wait for the app to recognize that I confirmed my email which usually means logging in (which I just did a few minutes earlier) but wait your systems haven’t correlated yet so it keeps saying I haven’t done it yet. It’s very lazy of me to give up on it so fast, I’m just telling you I had a way smoother experience with three apps before yours so being delayed like this just made me say screw it I'm moving on to the next one. Wish you guys the best.

Used Twist a year or so ago before moving to using other platform, such a features in Asana and Zoom Chat, etc. With all the blotted features in these other apps we are back using Twist and find it helps with clarity of communication between teams members. Analysing are data we performed better much better using Twist for communications than these other applications. 

Threads are brilliant and help keep conversations in the right context. A great combination with ToDoist, although it can stand on its own depending on your needs. 

I have no hesitation in recommending Twist for teams looking to use a clean and focused collaboration communication tool. In short, if you are tired of all the noisy apps like Slack, Asana, etc then Twist will be a breath of fresh air.

Love the app, but very hard to understand all the groups, teams, channels, threads!  
Needs better tutorials. Video tutorials. Tutorials that don’t assume we know how these things work. 
We had a hard time learning it but once we learned it, we love it.

Hi! Our team loves Twist. Is the best messaging app for work. No doubt about it. The only thing we don’t like is attaching something to a message. Apparently it does not do any compression and it’s very slow to upload things and even to see a image, it downloads very slow. Is the only thing we can see that Twist is no good. Everything else is perfect. Thanks a lot and keep delivering great updates 🤘🏼

I’ve been trialing this as a replacement app for communication between multiple teams, it does everything it says, however, it has removed all comments from beyond a month and all that communication has been lost.

We Occasionally have technical difficulties with the platform.  It takes DAYS to communicate with customer support and usually they never come to with an answer or fix.  You must figure the issue out for yourself or just live with this issue. There is no phone number and Twist support will NOT communicate by phone.  Going back and forth via email for days is not a good use of time to fix a technical issue on the platform.  I get the asynchrony idea.  That is great for many things, but there is still a time and a place where an actual phone call is necessary and these people do not get it!

При попытке выйти пишет «обьект не найден (workspace syncid=171068) Просил вас через почту больше полу года назад решить проблему со входом, после чего был послан пользоваться веб-версией. Теперь и веб-версия не открывается с телефона т.к. вылазит принудительное открытие мобильного приложения. Вы там ваще штоле? И в конце концов, вы ухудшили интерфейс программы в своем редизайне вместо добавления удобства и улучшению надежности. Продукт сырой. Моя вера в вас за год испарилась.

The app wont sign me in, the support team slow to respond and when they respond they offer useless solutions.

Comparing to slack and trello, their notification is really update by default

However with twist, you have to figure out how to set it up and also communicate to team of 30-50 people to do so.

Even though your feature that having thread and channel is great but just the default setting can ruin your user engagement given that you have to compete with slack and trello 

Imagine that you use your twist but receive no notification at all in a day.

markup editor, lack of file browser, ability to remove attachments or integrate google drive was a deal breaker. their marketing speaks unnecessarily loud bashing slack, yet they themselves dont half half of the features slack offers.

Overall we enjoy using the app, but it seems like it doesn’t get updated because there isn’t a proper reply feature still. The way it’s realized currently is very inconvenient - the only way to reply to a message is to copy its link. It would be very helpful if a proper reply feature is added for messages and threads.

Twist is by far the best app I’ve experienced over 7 years of working remotely. If you’ve had the same thoughts as threads being an after thought or notifications always going off for conversations that don’t relate to you, Twist is for you! 

It keeps everything organised, searchable and you can close off threads when the discussion has reached a decision!
