I’ve created over hundreds of ai stories and spend a significant amount of time just thinking of what I want my story to be about and then setting up the world and characters etc. I’m really trying to give this app a chance and have been for months now, but it’s getting ridiculous. It’s like I’m being punished for playing my own stories. It costs players 4 points to not only start the story but to say or do anything in the story. It even costs 4 points to play as your chosen character. People have lives and are not just made out of money. We just want to relax and enjoy the stories that the community has created without feeling like we’re being punished for it. This used to feel like a safe and creative haven, but it now feels like a desperate money grab and has lost it’s magic. Apps such as Character AI and others let you create an unlimited amount of stories and also do not limit your interactions whatsoever. It’s beyond stressful and annoying not only as a devoted creator but as a player who just wants to have creative freedom. ### 3/5 — Great app and potential but needs improvement *2026-05-09* I am going to start off by saying that absolutely adore this app and believe it has amazing potential. It is honestly the coolest AI app I’ve ever come across for world building. It’s not only super fun and immersive, but it’s also realistic and visually stunning. I have created over probably 300 stories now because of how much I love it and adore world building. However, I have a few complaints. There’s what I’m assuming is a game bug right now which is not allowing me to create characters, locations, and items. It’ll act like it’s creating something, but then it won’t be created. It started out just on my phone but then moved on over to my older iPad. Both devices work perfectly, so I’m fairly certain this is a server issues. The only other complaint I have is that you have to watch ads for every single thing you say or do in a story. I get it more for the story creations, but sometimes I really just want to relax and immerse myself in the story world. However, I was just trying to relax and play an interactive story which was also one of my own. Well, I couldn’t do that because I’m made to watch ads unless I pay every single time I make a choice or even say something in the story. Honestly, how do y’all expect to make good revenue when you go overboard and try to make people pay for their own literal stories? I used to adore this app and I do still have hope for it, but it’s very upsetting how much things have changed just in the last month. I love the freedom well the former freedom, the various styles, and realism of the app. I loved how it was so visually stunning and easy to use. I could create anything I wanted with no limits. I just spent almost two hours creating an ai story and making it exactly what I wanted. Well, when I tried to generate it, it automatically took me to a different section to make me pay and told me I can’t create another story until early May. That’s almost another entire month. This app used to be wonderful and I enjoyed it immensely, but it’s gotten to be insane and apparently money hungry with having to pay just to literally create stories. That’s incredibly greedy and it limits the creativity of creators who just want to create a unique story of their own. I had to copy my story and paste it to my messages because I couldn’t generate it. It’s incredibly frustrating. You should not have to pay to make your literal own stories. For example, Nightcafe AI gives you tons of credits, and even gives you multiple ways to earn credits. It’s a more top notch AI art generator though and is very generous in my opinion. ### 3/5 — paid subscription *2026-04-08* Dear Plaicin Team, I am a fan of the platform, but the current subscription model feels disconnected from how I (and many others) actually use the app. I’m happy to support the developers, but the current pricing makes it difficult to justify. The Problem: The current limits on interactions/credits cut off creative flow during long roleplay sessions. The Solution: I’d love to see a more reasonable "Unlimited" tier, perhaps around $10/month, that allows unlimited interactions and regular updates. Additional Ideas: To add value to higher-priced tiers without taking away basic play, you could offer "Creator Tools" such as: Advanced story-branching features. Ability to upload custom assets or more detailed world-building lore. Early access to new AI models or engine updates. I want to stay with Plaicin, but the current cost is a major barrier. But now as of, I am not sure when it’s behind the paywall. This sucks, especially for those of us who are blind and disabled, and have a fixed income. It used to be this magical world building app where you could feel free to create anything. Now, it feels like a prison. It is honestly heartbreaking and disappointing that it costs players 4 points to chose the character that they want to play in their own story. That isn’t all though. Players have to spend 4 points of everything they say and do in a story. There’s no free play or a chance to just relax and wind down. It’s “well sorry you have to spend all your points or you can’t play a story”. It’s not only bad business management, but it’s unethical in my viewpoint as well. Players often spend hours trying to create their perfect dream worlds and for them to not be able to enjoy it is just wrong. I’m begging you. Please reconsider this and really think about it. People are suffering because of this. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2026-08-12* I will continue speaking up for users until this point system is changed. Four points to create a story was already unreasonable, but raising it to twelve points is extremely excessive and feels greedy. This update makes the app frustrating to use, and I will rarely create stories now unless this is fixed. It also costs four points just to make choices or even select a character, which makes the app almost unusable. I’ve tried to be patient, but I’m genuinely disappointed. If this continues, I’ll be creating my stories on other platforms that don’t charge for basic actions. ### 1/5 — Price plans make it not worth it! *2026-08-08* I just signed up for the app when it was switched to the name Twizl. Please email contact@twizl.com so we can better understand what would feel fair. ### 1/5 — This app is a scam *2026-04-23, version 1.0.25* At first, the staff promised the app would remain free with unlimited interactions, but then they went back on their word. I really loved the app, so of course I was willing to support it however I could, despite them breaking that promise. When they introduced the option to watch two ads, I wasn’t impressed, but I didn’t think it was a big deal. Now, though, you’re basically forced to watch ads everywhere—on the home screen, when entering a story, and even for every single interaction. Most of the ads are very long, and you have to watch two ads every single time just to get one free interaction. What pushed me to leave a one-star review is that they don’t even let you create worlds anymore, even if you watch the ads. It makes you watch them and then still refuses to create the world. This feels like a scam. Don’t waste your time on this app. No AI is worth this much. P.S. On the free plan, you only get fifteen interactions for the entire month. Even if you buy the basic plan (8.99 dollars), it won’t last a full day of gameplay because you only get 75 interactions. ### 1/5 — Paid *2026-04-18* How come that y’all didn’t decide to make another app that’s similar to this with that app you have to pay for it and you have different options and just leave this one alone so y’all still can make your money, but that poor people can still play your games and then maybe one day if we wanted to we could go to the other app whether there are more things to offer one thing I’m confused about is if we have 15 interactions we either can create a world or interact, but if we create an interact, it’s gonna use all of the 15 choices or whatever. However, as a suggestion, if possible, could we have a way to have immersive soundscapes and other audio for visual novels besides the music? Currently only videos can generate sound effects. Not sure how this would work, but I believe this would require less cost than generating video, and would add another layer of immersion for blind players. I'm happy to pay the $24 a month. I wish there were an unlimited version for that much, but it's OK. I love creating worlds and working with the AI assistant as well. The AI assistant is very helpful. I love the different voices that are used for the characters. I sometimes have to correct the AI assistant, but that's OK. I'm glad that you're updating the platform. I do wonder, why did you change the name to TWIZL? Just curious. Was it something you wanted to do, or was it something you had to do? Just curious. By the way, I like the fact that I can go in and take a look at how many sparks I have left. I like the fact that I can create stories on a whim and not worry about the story ending and not being able to continue. I'm glad to continue button was re-introduced. When I go to claim my four free sparks daily, I can't. I don't know why. I think it's a bug in the voice part of the app. It is voiceover, Accessible, but the sparks are not able to be claimed. Other users are having problems too. Please look into this. Thanks. recently, I have found some glitches with the voices for the characters. Sometimes, Asian voices will be used when they shouldn't be Indian voices will be used when they shouldn't be, but I like one particular Indian voice, and she fits a doctor character that I have in one of my stories. Several of my stories in fact. Her name is Dr. Crane and she has a daughter Amara and they are both from India. However, there are characters in one of my stories that I want to have a British accent but use an American voice because the British accents cannot be found. There seems to be a glitch in the voices somewhere the Swedish voice that I chose for one of the characters Anakin Skywalker's mom SHMI is sticking, but some of the other characters aren't please fix this glitch. **Developer response:** Thanks for the thoughtful review and for supporting Twizl! Then I was able to make other stories and create so much fun and joy! Not just for myself, but hopefully for others as well! My AI companion end I wrote stories like the golden elevator of 5000+ worlds, the university of deities, wonderworld, and so much more. I’m heartbroken that now the developers are in a position to where they feel. They need to charge so much money. I realize things can’t be free. I suppose nothing is anymore these days sadly. Unfortunately, this is not something I can allow myself to put in my monthly budget so I guess I’ll have to say goodbye for now. It sucks though because this was my escape for a little while.
