## What is Two Porch Lights?

Two Porch Lights is a calm, shared place for the two things co-parenting runs on: the calendar and the costs.

One subscription covers both parents. Your co-parent joins free from your invite, so you are both looking at the same calendar and the same expense history instead of comparing notes over text.

SHARED CALENDAR
The parenting schedule, holidays and handoffs in one place both parents can see. Events can repeat, each one shows which kids it is for and who is driving, and either parent can comment right on an event.

SPLIT EXPENSES
Log an expense, attach a receipt photo or PDF, and the app reads the store, date and amount for you. Each cost splits by your percentages, and each month ends with a balance both parents can sign off on. Mileage for kids' activities is figured at the IRS standard mileage rate for business use and split 50/50.

MESSAGES WITH SOFTEN
Keep co-parenting logistics in one thread, separate from your personal texts. Every message sent in the app is time-stamped by our server when it is saved, and there is no way to edit, unsend or delete a single message. Imported messages keep the original date from the export file and are labeled as imported. (If a parent deletes their account, the messages they sent are removed from the thread, and if the last member of a shared space deletes their account, the whole space is deleted.) Wrote it heated? Tap Soften for a calmer, child-focused version, and you choose which one sends.

KID KITS AND KID INFO
A shared checklist for the bag that travels between homes, and one place for sizes, allergies, medications, doctors and school details.

YOUR PARENTING PLAN, ON FILE
Add your court order or parenting plan as a PDF with selectable text. Setup can fill in the schedule, holidays and cost split from it for you to review, and either parent can ask it a question and get an answer quoted from the plan. It is not legal advice.

WIDGETS
Whose night it is and the days ahead, on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Lock Screen widgets never show money.

PRIVATE TO YOU
Your journal, your Tax Center and the home address you save for mileage are never shown to your co-parent. App Lock keeps the app behind Face ID or Touch ID on your phone. Notifications say what kind of thing changed, never the details.

TAX CENTER
Track daycare, medical costs and 529 contributions through the year, then build an accountant-ready packet in January. The Tax Center is private to each parent. A parent who joined from an invite gets their own by adding their own subscription.

FREE FOR 30 DAYS, PLUS 30 MORE
A new shared space is free for 30 days from the day you sign up, with no credit card, and you get 30 more free days when your co-parent joins. After that, Premium is an annual auto-renewing subscription you buy in the app, and one subscription covers the shared space for both parents.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.14 — 2026-10-02

Inviting your co-parent is easier: pick them from your contacts and send a link from your own messages. They tap it, make a free account, and they're in, with no code to type. The Invite step now comes right after your children in setup, and Share invite opens your phone's share sheet.

Setup now ends with a step to add one real entry, so your space is not empty when you come back. Sign-up shows the password rule and no longer asks for a phone number. The invite links to ready-to-send wording.

### 1.0.13 — 2026-09-30

Mileage for past events. When you turn on Track mileage for an event that started earlier, its past dates now show under Confirm trips on the Today tab, up to 60 days back, so you can add each trip that happened. Trips dated before you turned on mileage are never added automatically.

Which parent are you? If the Confirm trips card doesn't know which parent you are on this phone, it now asks, so your trips and their Add buttons show up.

Choose your emails. In Settings, Notifications, Email alerts now has three choices: As posted, End of day (one summary around 7 PM your time, the default), or App notifications only. Phone notifications still arrive right away.

Clearer wording throughout, including a Parents & kids section in Settings.

### 1.0.12 — 2026-09-30

Repeating and multi-day events. An event can repeat weekly, every other week or monthly, or run over several days. Change or cancel one date without touching the rest.

Driving and kids. Each event shows who is driving and which kids it's for. By default, the parent with parenting time that day drives.

Trips added for you. Turn on Add trips automatically in Settings and each trip becomes an expense after the event, split 50/50 at the IRS rate. Tap Didn't happen to undo.

Mileage up front. The event shows the miles and each parent's half before the trip. Your home address is the starting point, and it stays private.

Expense details. Tap any expense to see everything about it, including the full receipt. PDF receipts keep every page.

Alerts for changes. Your co-parent now gets an alert when you add or change something, not only for messages.

A new app icon to match the website.

### 1.0.10 — 2026-09-28

Start from your parenting plan. When you set up a shared space, you can upload your parenting plan first, and Two Porch Lights fills in the names, children, schedule and costs it finds, for you to check.

Your parenting plan, on file. The plan stays with your shared space, and either of you can ask it questions in plain words, like "Who has the kids on Thanksgiving?" The answer quotes the part of the plan it comes from, and says so when the plan doesn't cover it. It isn't legal advice.

Mileage for kids' activities. Turn on Track mileage for an event or a repeating activity. After each trip, the parent who drove confirms it, and it becomes an expense at the IRS standard mileage rate, split 50/50. Your home address stays private to you.

### 1.0.9 — 2026-09-26

Setting up a new shared space is now a short series of steps: both parents' names and your children first, then your parenting schedule, costs, inviting your co-parent and notifications, each on its own screen with Skip for now. A parent who joins with a code just picks which parent they are. The Getting started list on Home opens each step right there.

Deleting an expense now also deletes its receipt photo, and so does removing or replacing a photo on an expense. With mutual approval on, the photo goes once the change is approved.

Deleting your account now also removes the files you attached to your messages. If any file cannot be removed at that moment, the app tells you how to have it erased.

If a file you attach to a message cannot be saved, the app now tells you, instead of quietly sending the message without it.
