Zero stars. ### 1/5 — Not impressed *2026-01-02* The quality on the phone video is around a 240p. The Ai system is not needed, seems everyone is just plastering the name AI on everything these days. LDW is not great could be better, still have set off a pedestrian warning yet even though the function is turn on. That doesn’t run when location is turn off. It is great the functionality is there for people that like being track by every gosh dang app on the market. I understand that you need the Bluetooth for file transfer, why not only have the Bluetooth functionality only available when users are actively transferring data to the device. Wifi functionality to view the view is pretty much useless now. I cannot get the app setup to work. Sell as second hand. I believe this app to be fishing for your data and invading your privacy won’t be keeping the app, it could be a lot better, considering the technology in the camera and the claimed use of AI, which I don’t think is, just a marketing tool. ### 1/5 — Solar Parking Sensor *2025-12-15, version 4.39.2* They don’t even care avout complains 🤷‍♂️The app has to get better, the beeping should last 5 second and not 10 second since that’s too long, also when I have the App opened watching how I get closer to items, walls or other vehicles while parking, the App should stop the sound in 5 second if I’m not moving the car no matter if I have it opened watching the simulation App in my phone, please fix those and it would be very good since that is how cars with OEM parking sensors works ### 1/5 — App no longer works *2025-12-12, version 4.39.2* App just crashes repeatedly. I did have to struggle a bit setting it up, more so than other WiFi based dash cams I’ve used. The app asks for too many permissions that seem unnecessary. Does it really need full access to my photos? Or is write-only access to my photo library enough? I just used it to update the firmware and check my windshield mounting position. It supposedly only saves downloaded dashcam footage to your phone. So why what do you need FULL library access for? IOS has offered a privacy-preserving option since iOS 14 called "Add Photos Only" which covers videos too, that lets an app save new media without ever seeing what's already in your library. Type S is not using it, which means Full library access is their choice, not Apple's requirement. Given that this has been flagged repeatedly in App Store reviews as I can with the other review, and still no fix, means that it's either developer negligence or something more concerning, an app that wants to see your existing photos and videos for reasons that have nothing to do with saving your dashcam footage. That last part is the part worth sitting with. There's no functional reason a dashcam companion app needs to browse your library. If they wanted to fix it, it's a known API that's been available for years. ### 1/5 — App usage *2026-04-26* Very useless app, don’t connect with camera ### 1/5 — Complete failure *2026-02-20, version 4.40.5* Connecting is major problem, unstable. That’s should be enough, but it won’t let you access files on your phone unless you give full access to your photo library. I’ve tried everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling it multiple times, and even giving it unlimited access to everything, but it still won’t connect! My second major concern is its excessive and suspicious demand for full access to my photo gallery. I have many other apps that can save photos and videos to the gallery without demanding full access. It's just that if your phone is connected to your carplay it won't connect your app to your phone, so you need to disconnect carplay first or use your wifes phone for the app which we did and you can perfectly manage the cam or review videos/galleries on app. or if not you can just use the cam itself if you need to review something. Just make sure you’re away from your home Wi-Fi if you try to connect because your phone won’t want to connect to the dash cam if it’s on its home Wi-Fi network. ### 5/5 — Figured the app connection out *2024-10-12* The key to getting this app to work with the camera is to turn off Apple CarPlay. Then it works. I tried out a different camera when I was frustrated with my Type S camera connection. It perfectly recorded the car accident my wife got involved into last week.
