The apple carplay app NEVER works so I always have to change the color on my phone while I’m driving. (Defeats the whole purpose of why I spent this much money on it). Had them on my truck but my mounting sucked so I took them off and put them up with plans to reattach them later. Life happens and now over 5 yrs later I am putting them back on the truck. They still work great and the app can control them just fine. Nice to see car play added. Only issue is login is restricted to google or apple account sign in? Why cant I use a custom email? I separate accounts by custom emails with my own self hosted domain which keeps things more secure. I hate Google and am in the process of de-googling my life and Apple is better but not by leaps and bounds. I am glad that I can just use guest but I am assuming that if I want to save profiles to use with car play then it will force me to login using one of the two options. This feels like an attempt to data mine and sell customer info. If thats the case it may violate the App Store TOS, consumer privacy laws and others I am forgetting. I’m a Automotive Technician by trade. Set up is simple . I can see the connectors being damaged due to their simple Pin design . But I took my time and it installs great . Would be nice for the ports to specify location ie. Lf,Rf,rr,lr. Saving lighting presets seems to work fine and colour adjust works fine. I’d say great product so far, this is only day 2. I’ll see how the module holds up in -30oC.
