### 3/5 — PARAPHRASES WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY

I have to say that the concept of typeless is really original and creative, it’s useful in many situations, especially if you want to save time instead from typing, especially if it’s a lot of typing, it especially comes in handy when you are sending a text message as its your voice and tone coming across the speech to text. However, this doesn’t come with its cons and I think this is a huge con that made me rate it a 3 stars instead of a 5 stars; every time I use Typeless it just completely paraphrases what I want to say. It just summarizes your speech instead of just saying what you actually wanted to say, and sometimes I have to go back to the text to fix it because it never gets the point across when I have a lot to say. I think that the developers should work on making typeless say what you are actually saying instead of just paraphrasing what it thinks you are saying. In a way typeless works as the keyboard autocorrector, but for your speech.

This used to be one of my favorite apps, and I would recommend it to everyone. However, the last couple of updates has caused a measurable drop-off in its quality. It has become overly aggressive at trying to polish your words, often completely changing the intent by needlessly rewriting entire sentences or annoyingly trying to convert everything to bullet points and numbered lists. Additionally its censorship is equally increasing in its aggressiveness. This is no longer an app that I can recommend.

iPhone版Typelessを使用していますが、自動ロックに関する不具合と思われる現象が発生しています。

iPhoneの「自動ロック」を「1分」に設定していますが、Typelessを一度起動し、アプリスイッチャー上にTypelessが残っている状態にすると、操作をやめても1分後に画面が消えず、自動ロックされません。

一方、アプリスイッチャーからTypelessを上にスワイプして完全に終了すると、設定どおり約1分後に画面が消えて自動ロックされます。

以下の条件で繰り返し確認しました。

* iPhoneの自動ロック設定：1分
* Typelessをバックグラウンドに残す：自動ロックされない
* Typelessを完全終了する：1分後に正常に自動ロックされる
* Typeless v2.4.0で発生
* v2.5.0へアップデート後も同じ現象が発生

Typelessは日常的に使用しているため、毎回アプリを完全終了するのではなく、バックグラウンドに残したまま使用したいと考えています。

Typelessを終了せずに、iPhone本来の自動ロックを有効にする設定や回避方法がありましたら、ご教示いただけますでしょうか。

設定で解決できない場合は、不具合の可能性についてもご確認いただけますと幸いです。

First, I would like to say that this application is pretty awesome. I really do like it and I think it can help a lot of people the issue that I’m having though is it appears that when Typeless is running and you then move to another application the iPhone screen will not turn off and it always runs. If this issue could be fixed, I would look at using Typeless again

Ever since I installed this software, I've noticed my phone won't lock anymore. I tried all sorts of things, including adjusting the screen timeout in the system settings, but nothing worked. I figured it had to be caused by this app.

After tracing the issue back, I realized this problem only started after I installed it—it never happened before. When I force-closed it in the background, my screen locking went right back to normal. So this has got to be a bug, and I hope the developers can push out a fix for it quickly.

Also, why doesn't the mobile app have the other AI features that the desktop app has? Here we only have voice input and translation, without the actual AI capabilities.

IME 自体はすごく便利で、中国語と英語の混在入力をするときには問題ないです。単純に日本語を入力するときにも問題なく、すごく体験が良いものですが、不便なところが3点あります。

1. iPhone を利用するとき、もともと設定されている「自動ロック」ができなくなりました。
2. 利用するマイクについて、イヤホンを装着しているときでも、iPhone 本体のマイクしか利用できません。
3. 中国語と日本語の混在入力をするときの体験が良くないです。

この3点を改善していただければ、すごく便利になります。

Issue: System auto-lock fails due to background activity.
Description: My iPhone is set to auto-lock after 30 seconds. However, once this keyboard app is used, it stays running in the background and overrides the system's auto-lock setting, keeping the screen awake.
Workaround: Normal auto-lock behavior is only restored after I manually force quit the app from the app switcher.

英語入力の時に使っています。最初の方にあったバグは直されており、非常に便利になっています。一緒に付属しているキーボードも大変便利です。

ただ、最近のアップデートによって、自動で Typeless がオフになる機能がなくなったため、iPhone の自動ロック（自動スリープ）がされなくなりました。

この点はちょっと問題かなと思っています。

这个体验真的是令人发指，是团队里面没有人这么用吗？我配了 硬件键盘，但我还必须要打开软键盘，我才可以用 Typeless，这就是一个本末倒置的事情。而且，我只要切换输入法，软键盘就消失了

I found my battery draining and then I went to battery usage page to find out why. Typeless app drained 54% of my battery while instagram only uses 5%, I am using instagram all day and I just had a new phone. Not sure what is it doing, is the microphone always on in background?

Ever since the last couple of updates, I've run into a major issue: my iPhone gets extremely hot. 

Whenever I close Typeless, the problem stops. I tried uninstalling it and downloading the new version, but the issue is still there. 

I really hope the developers can fix this soon. My battery gets so hot it honestly feels like it's going to explode.

I paid the annual subscription, Song Huang. I loved the features. But it burns my phone’s battery seriously. After Typeless has been running, Auto-Lock stops working in all foreground apps (even Settings). Force quitting Typeless immediately restores normal Auto-Lock behavior. This looks like the app is leaving the idle timer disabled after voice/background operation.

Since the latest update, the app causes my iPhone to heat up significantly whenever it is running in the background. This never happened in previous versions.

Even when I’m not actively using the app, it continues consuming resources, making my phone noticeably warm and draining the battery much faster than before. The issue stops once I force-close the app.

Please investigate the background processing. This is a serious performance issue that affects daily usability. I hope it can be fixed as soon as possible.

The functionality is great, but that’s a ridiculous amount of money to pay for the app. Also, I do not like that access to the app overtakes my default keyboard and the app button replaces my emoji button, so I can’t use emojis. Not for me. I’ll continue to just use the iOS native dictation.

Typeless automatically closes in the middle of a sentence, and my Apple default keyboard automatically opens. Then I have to manually switch back to the keyboard again. I've been facing this issue forever. 

The only reason I'm still using it is because I use it on my MacBook, where it works fabulously, but the experience on iPhone is pretty bad.With Android, it has no issues, but iOS is very problematic.

我支付了30美元订阅Typeless Pro，实际只使用了大约3—5天。单次录音通常只有1—3分钟，而且是在同一个窗口、没有切换App、也没有任何误操作的情况下，录音仍会突然中断。购买当天十分钟内连续发生了3—4次，几天内累计出现十几次。

最无法接受的不是单纯中断，而是中断后已经口述的内容既没有保存，也没有转录，而是直接消失。这让它根本无法用于任何重要记录。

向客服反馈后，对方让我进入“History”，左滑记录，再点击“More”和“Retry transcript”。但他们提供的只是一张局部界面截图，无法看出适用的设备和系统版本，而且与我iPhone上的Typeless 2.1.0实际界面不一致。我重新下载安装，并使用同一个Apple账号登录，仍然找不到他们所说的页面和恢复入口。反复引导用户操作一个实际无法找到的功能，并没有解决内容丢失的问题。

退款方面，我自己申请过一次，又联系Apple工作人员协助申请过两次，均未成功。Apple客服告诉我是开发者或商家方面没有同意，Typeless则一直让我重新联系Apple。我后来只要求Typeless明确书面回复“是否同意退款”，也始终没有得到正面回答。

此外，在实际使用中，我没有感受到30美元Pro版与免费版之间有什么明显区别。对于一个主打语音记录的产品，频繁中断、内容直接丢失属于根本性问题；售后既没有提供可执行的解决方案，也没有明确回应退款态度。不建议用它记录任何重要内容。

Todo o meu uso desse aplicativo até agora foi sensacional. Inclusive, essa avaliação está sendo feita enquanto eu falo e utilizo a transcrição dele. 

Só é uma pena que a assinatura seja bem cara, mas a qualidade é excelente.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Typeless is one of the best apps I've ever seen, and I gladly paid the yearly subscription after using it for less than 10 minutes. It's that good. You just have to try it to understand.

I've had the Pro version for a few months and I absolutely love it. It makes chatting with friends and family so much more pleasant, and I use it for work too. I have the PC version installed, saving me so much time. I also really like the AI function; I hardly have any embarrassing autocorrects or typos anymore.

I tried some of the popular ones and ended up settling with Typeless. This is an awesome app, and it's well worth it. You do not even have to swipe because it's going to auto-switch for you. With the simplicity and features it provides, it's one of the best for smartphone and desktop app

【Follow-up: Issue Resolved – Thank You!】

Dear Typeless Support Team,

I am the person who previously reported a bug where recording would unintentionally end and spoken content would be lost. After today's update (Japan Time: Tuesday, July 28, 2026, 12:15 PM), I tried a continuous 10-minute voice input, and it operated stably from start to finish.

■ Improvements confirmed
- Recording no longer cuts off mid-way; it works stably until the normal termination countdown.
- It is no longer necessary to speak in a whisper close to the microphone; input is possible at a normal volume.
- Background noise from air conditioners and air circulators is also cleanly filtered out.

■ Impact on daily life
Being freed from flick input on a small screen is a huge improvement, and the neck and shoulder stiffness caused by holding the phone continuously has also eased. I can now jot down thoughts by voice even while doing housework, which has greatly improved my quality of life.

以前、録音が意図せず終了し発話内容が消失する不具合を報告した者です。本日（日本時間で2026年7月28日火曜日午後0時15分）のアップデート後、連続10分の音声入力を試したところ、最初から最後まで安定して動作しました。

■ 改善を確認できた点
・録音が途中で切れなくなり、通常の終了カウントダウンまで安定して動作
・マイクに近づいてささやき声で話す必要がなくなり、普通の声量で入力可能に
・エアコンやサーキュレーターの雑音もきれいに除外

■ 生活への影響
小さな画面でのフリック入力から解放されたのは本当に大きく、スマホを持ち続けることで生じていた首・肩のこわばりも楽になってきました。家事をしながらでも音声で考えを書き留められるようになり、QOLが大きく向上しています。

Better than any app I’ve tried. If you can pay for the subscription, you’re golden, no need to hold back. The only thing that holds me back is that being a fiction writer, I need to rely on something. But this gives you 8,000 words for free. Literally can’t even complain. Would gladly give them my money.

I promise you guys, you won't regret it. I am doing this review with the Typeless AI voice keyboard, and it is perfect. It always comes out the way I said it, or it makes the sentences make sense.

I have used the text-to-speech on Android, Samsung, and iPhone, and it sucks. It comes out not making sense; sometimes there are no periods, no commas, no nothing. Typeless fixes everything, and the sentences make so much sense. It is the greatest app in the world. You won't deny it, I promise you.
