No way to update profile stats, like age. Often can’t leave a page, so need to quit the app and reopen. And the quiz in the beginning is just sort of… bad. I’m an INFP through and through, and it typed me first as an ESFP, and then an INTP. Deleted the app **Developer response:** Hello! We're working on fixing those bugs right now. Thanks for reporting them. We're going to be changing the test soon to the most accurate one out there. But in the mean time we do allow people to change their type through a drop down. Hope this helps. ### 1/5 — Needs work *2021-01-28, version 2.0.1* The concept is great but it’s not very user friendly. I wonder if it’s because I’m an iOS user. Sometimes I enter text into a box and there’s no way to click out so I can select save. I created an account and the first page it took me to was a blank profile page and it said you have zero matches. Instead of initially being prompted to create my profile. I had to find the profile button, click edit, and figure out where to fill in all the places I wanted to fill. Lots of people didn’t have pictures too. The idea is there but it needs work. Update: there’s no option to include children (if you have kids, if you want kids, etc). And there’s no place where you can just free-write for yourself. It seems like you can only fill in the options the app gives you. **Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for this helpful review! It also required push notifications be turned on. But even when I turned them on, it still said error. **Developer response:** We are really sorry to hear that these issues were coming up, I know it has been a little bit but if these issues are still around or if we can help in any way please let us know at admin@typematchapp.com ### 2/5 — When I filtered results I had 0 matches *2020-12-14, version 2.0.0* After saying my preferred distance, age, and compatibility I got a message that said “there are no matches please adjust your filters” - I changed the filters to almost the farthest distance, age range, and compatibility and still got the same. So my only options are people 15 years older than me from 1500 miles away. Too bad I can’t use this app. The concept is really good. Not enough people are using it so I can’t really make use of it. **Developer response:** We understand the frustration with the limited people using the application, we hope you stay with us as we grow. We are working hard at reaching out farther and wider! ### 1/5 — Inaccurate typing test. *2020-12-10, version 2.0.0* Poor customization, terribly organized, a colossal waste of time. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — broken *2023-07-25* The app won’t let me continue because it won’t accept the photos I submit for my profile. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2023-07-20* I’ve been looking for an app that matched people based on personality profiles so when I found this I was super excited but it’s proven to be really buggy and I really didn’t agree with the final profile after I’d taken the evaluation. I usually do but it just didn’t feel right to me. ### 1/5 — Nope. *2023-06-02* It wouldn’t even let me set up a profile and add pictures but wouldn’t let me proceed without a picture. Also, the questionnaire was not thorough. ### 1/5 — so many bugs it's totally unusable *2023-01-18, version 5.2* Mostly great concept, but needs a lot of work before it's worth getting. I downloaded it because it uses the Big 5 model, and then I was forced to take a MBTI test, which of course doesn't work as well for statistics (disappointing, since this whole concept is built on statistical reliability). Afterwards I was able to take the big 5 test and include that, so that's cool. I'm not sure how the algorithms weight each personality indicator. Would be cool if you could choose between them in preferences or weight the significance of them (perhaps on a slider?) in the filtering preferences. But the real issue is not with their approach, but with the buggy software. For a start, it said I'm 53 on my profile when I indicated that I'm 28. But more importantly I couldnt swipe on anyone. The only button that even works on the main part of the app is the button that takes you to the filter preferences. There's no way to match with people or even dismiss them. You get to see one profile and then you're stuck looking at that one profile with no way toove forward. Fatal problem; renders the app usrlsss. I hope they fix this, but it's been 10mo since the last software update so I'm not holding my breath. Btw I'm using iOS 16.1.1. maybe it works on Android or something, idk. ### 1/5 — Pure trash *2022-10-26, version 5.2* I’m a programmer. I can confidently say this was app was implemented by baboons. I couldn’t create a username and password, so had to sign up with my appleID. I can’t change the date of birth and my profile photo won’t upload. ### 1/5 — Would be a nice app if it worked :( *2022-02-09, version 5.0* After taking the personality test, uploading my photos, and entering my age/preferences - my age showed up as 52 (I’m 31) and it only showed me women (I’m only interested in men). I kept trying to re-launch, update, and even sign up again after deleting my account, but I kept encountering the same issue each time. I'll update you :) ### 1/5 — Great idea but no users *2021-10-13, version 3.1* This idea of matching couples based on their personality is great, but there is not many people using this app. Also, a lot of profiles seem fake. I think a lot of people have incomplete profiles and not good pictures though so that's something we're working to fix. ### 1/5 — Needs plenty improvement *2021-05-05, version 2.0.1* The quizzes are inaccurate, and the User Interface is extremely disorganized. I’ve known my type for years from taking official MBTI tests, but there is no feature available for users to select their own type if they already know it. **Developer response:** Update: we have added the ability for you to select your own type or even retake the test if you want. It’s obvious that the developers really care and are working to make something great. Most of all, it works. I’m an ISTP and met my girlfriend through this app. We understand each other on such a deep level and it’s by far the most incredible connection and relationship I’ve ever had. When she announced the launch of the app, I lost it. Knowing the compatibility rate is a great way to filter out the future problems. Can’t wait for more people to be on, but for now it’s a bit . Dunno how to describe it but I feel like it isn’t “solidified” yet, like giving it a couple months time and with more people and functions it will function better? No matter what it says it can’t save picture. “Sorry we could not save image #0. Please try again. Tried this for all the slots for pictures. Same error. ### 3/5 — Update won’t let me sign in *2020-12-06, version 2.0.0* New update version will not allow me to sign in as it shows an error message. When signing in, it prompts you to allow push notifications, if you select don’t allow it shows an error “Alert failed to get push token for push notifications” and then it freezes. Have deleted and reinstalled, and allowed notifications to still have the same error message. Please correct this. Slivers of pics - I found that opening on the iPad in wide view they were stretched and cut off tops and bottoms. But I opened a side by side app which shrunk the aspect of the first and more of the pictures were visible. They are working on it, but at least there is a work around. Still need to address no locations, very little profile info, partial profiles you have to either like or trash to see more (but if they are going to be updated it might be a wasted opportunity if you trash them). Beware of catfish that have knowledge about MBTI and will use it on you. Told a verification system was in the works... Regardless, the concept is nice. **Developer response:** Hello!
