## What is u?

The u-Smell-it App is to be used together with the u-Smell-it scent cards as a quick and easy way to help see how well you can smell.  Briefly the App reads the unique QR-code of the card with the camera.  Then the user scratches and smells different scent windows on the card and using the App picks the best choice between common scents (eg. vanilla, mint, strawberry). The App then tallies the results and indicates if you appear to have a normal ability to smell or a loss-of-smell (anosmia). 

The results of the test do non consist of a medical diagnosis and one should not take any medical action based on the results.  As this is a quick test with limited scents the test may fail to detect people with a partial loss of smell (it may give a false negative result).

This app exits itself out automatically every time I use it.  It doesn’t allow me to use anything other than scanning the code.  It’s a waste.  Pathetic.

The privacy policy link just leads to an error page, the app requests location access without any information on how it‘s used or why it‘s needed.

Also die Schritte an dich kann man schon durchführen, aber sonst ist die App sehr schlecht. Wirkt so als ob man nur 3 Tage Zeit hatte zu entwickeln. Die Standort-Berechtigung wird ohne erkennbaren Grund angefordert. Die App war auf englisch und nicht automatisch auf deutsch. Die Andeoid-App ist genauso schlecht aber zumindest auf deutsch.

Simple app but have some little bug. 
Last page with the traffic light result you can not scroll. 
I like it if it helps to use virus spreading!

Two features I think would make the app better are 1) the ability to go back and review choices before submitting them and 2) the ability to see right and wrong choices after the entries are scored.  The scents can be confusing because the scratch-off squares are close together and the scents only approximate real-world smells.  A final review would be useful for “training”.

This is the cheapest and most effective way to determine if you have a loss of smell. 80% of people with Covid-19 report a loss of smell as one of the first and most persistent symptoms. It is a symptom unique to Covid-19. The app needs to support dynamic text and I haven’t tried the cards yet, but I have no doubt this will work. As a non-invasive technology costing only about 50 cents... it is by far the best solution for the “potential” screening of infected individuals.
