It’s an absolute waste of time for the rider to go and wait 10-15 minutes. It’s in Uber’s benefit but it’s total BS ### 1/5 — My experience after 1 year *2026-08-25, version 4.581.10000* The earning potential is okay, you’re looking at about $25 p/hour before taxes, costs (like fuel, wear and tear on the car, servicing) and super (if you nominate to pay it yourself). Personally I bank the promotions each week and work in the busy periods for about $50 p/hour, but this would not work if you want to do uber part or full time. In terms of customer service be aware there is zero support. If you have an issue and call, they will refer it onto a mystery team and you won’t hear anything back. This goes for issues with the app, issues with customers, even jobs you haven’t been paid for. Best course is to message or email so you have a paper trail or they will just claim you never called. This has been my experience for each of the 6 times I’ve had to reach out to Uber for support. With general questions or advice sometimes they are helpful, but generally will refer to the “specialised team” and again there is no follow up. ### 1/5 — Awful rates and thankless job. *2026-08-24, version 4.581.10000* Working for these slave drivers is exhausting as the exploit drivers for poor fares and maximum profits. Just more exploitation of the world’s migrant crisis and cheap labour. Customers are awful too and expect everything to be priority for no tips. But you should know this, Uber: if the drivers don't make money, neither will you. Look at the last six months; you've lost 50% of your customers in Sydney. Customers are now using Didi, not because it's cheaper, but simply because drivers prefer using Didi. At least with Didi, the driver knows where the customer is going before picking them up. Practice like try to close to where other apps shows busy. Avoid uber neutral order where pick others. Deliver as less as you can uber order.
