Just save a little extra money. I think Lyft might actually be better than Uber, but they both expensive. Not to mention if a writer is so close by they will change it at the moment. The app has continued to improve. Recently I had a driver for an early morning schedule ride cancel on me at the last minute. After I indicated where I wanted to go and had selected the vehicle it told me where to go for the pickup. I followed those directions and when I got there I checked the app for information on the car and driver. All I could find was a “Confirm Pickup” button. I didn’t select the button as I had not been picked up yet. I finally had to ask someone. The button should read something like Arrived Pickup Location or At Pickup Spot. Very confusing what they have now for those of us who don’t use it frequently. Hope management reads this. I took a trip into town, no wallet because I'm just going for a walk in the park. Ride into town was fine, uber didn't ask anything from me except payment. Now, I'm trying to get home, and suddenly it wants my ID. I don't HAVE my ID because I didn't think I'd need it. No warning before I travelled away from home, no sort of "you'll need your ID for your next ride," nothing like that. So now I'm stranded in town, a three hour walk from my apartment, at 3 in the morning. Thanks a lot. I won't be using this app again. I'm not lugging my wallet around everywhere I go just so Uber can take my personal data and leak it all over the internet. ### 1/5 — URGENT — UNAVOIDABLE FEES THAT I CANNOT CANCEL *2026-08-28, version 3.736.10004* A family member signed up for Uber delivery in California and completed all required registration steps. However, despite requesting the payment card several times, the card was never received. The Uber account was later permanently deactivated. Now we have received a notification that monthly fees will be charged for a card/account that we cannot access, cannot use, and cannot close. This creates an unavoidable fee with no available way for us to stop it. There is no physical card, no access to the Uber account, and support has not been able to resolve the issue. We have repeatedly tried to get help. All we are asking is to PERMANENTLY CLOSE THE CARD ACCOUNT and stop any current or future fees. This situation needs URGENT attention from Uber Support. Please contact us and provide confirmation that the card account has been completely closed and that no additional fees will be charged. I will remove this review only after the issue has been fully resolved. If anyone else has experienced the same problem — being unable to close an account while fees continue or are scheduled to be charged — please share your experience in the comments. The restart I ordered from was a 5 minute drive… the bicycler had one other stop on the way and took about an hour to deliver cold food here. That’s 2 trips. My credit card was charged 4 times. I disputed 2 charges (so that I’d be fairly charged 2 times, 1 for each of my rides)…. Then uber suspends my account saying I owe $98 for a disputed trip!!! That’s a 5th charge… for the same 2 trips I got charged 4 times for already!! Now I can’t use the app and they’re trying to rob me of another $98.05 that I already got charged. Never use this app, their customer service instead of helping me just acknowledged they suspended my account.
