### 3/5 — Not the best learn platform

*2026-01-15*

The app is not that bad, you get access to your ucertify content, but it is annoying to study from the app.

The apps wont keep the screen on when reading, and you need to keep touching the screen.

This also makes the reading function useless, it will start playing when the screen lock. It wont play it the background either. I need to go to settings and set the screen lock out to never, and if I forget to change it back my battery die pretty quick.

### 2/5 — Not that great

*2026-01-07, version 1.9.5*

Unable to highlight and the app freezes up where I have to force close. Issues like this makes me want to request a physical book for class because I’ve had problems with Ucertify’s app and website repeatedly.

### 4/5 — Figures to not diisplay

*2025-12-09, version 1.9.4*

Annoyingly, the images for figures do not display properly on iphone, only see an empty box where the image should be…

### 2/5 — Doesn’t sync properly

*2025-11-16, version 1.9.4*

While it is very convenient to read through lessons and study with the tools in the app, it unfortunately is faulty when it comes to syncing your account properly. Not only does it not accurately sync with the website, but the app itself will show you have not yet covered material you have indeed spent much time reading and learning.

### 2/5 — Piece of Garbage

*2025-10-18, version 1.9.2*

My college class requires the use of uCertify for lessons. The application that goes with it (this one) worked fine for the first few day, then gave connection errors perpetually afterwards. Updates, redownloads, password change, and other account checks yielded no improvement. I was able to use the website instead, but that site would not stop spamming me with screen blocking pop-ups trying to divert me to this app that just won’t f-ing work. I am angry.

### 2/5 — One of the Worst training apps.

*2025-09-11, version 1.9.0*

This was definitely one of the worst experience I’ve ever had with any “training app”. I put that in quotes because the only thing I learned was how frustratingly glitchy the uCertify app can be. It is unfortunate that it is the only option I have right now since it’s the platform my school is using right now. So I will just have to do my best to pass the word around to anyone looking to pick up some courses to look elsewhere at least until uCertify get their act together. Updates on the rest of my experience will follow until I finish my courses.

### 2/5 — Someone call an exterminator

*2025-05-31, version 1.7.4*

Challenge activities are totally blank. Like actually just the header, a white page, and no text. I downloaded this app 10 minutes before this review. Also please add swiping for moving to the next page or make it so that the buttons can't be hidden at the bottom. Most mobile devices now use swipe gestures. Pulling up the arrows from the bottom is frustrating. Maybe add them to the sides? One for each side?

Please stop the horrible screen flick when top menu bar scrolls to follow. Either hide it completely or just leave the hamburger menu permanently on screen while reading. No one needs to be constantly reminded they're in a lesson while they're reading a lesson. Scrolling up slowly flickers the screen, scrolling down slowly is like a roulette. Never know if you'll get launched up or down 40 lines past your intended target. It's wayyyyy worse on android btw, can confirm have this app on an android phone.

Several of the drag and drop knowledge checks plainly don't work on mobile. At all. The section reading is the worst thing by far. It does't save progress even when manually editing the section to mark as read.

Some text in dark mode doesn't adapt so black text appears on a dark background, making it unreadable. Had to switch to light mode just to read half a paragraph highlighted as dark text.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2025-05-30*

- Reading in the app doesn’t mark sections as “read” even when the dot is fully green. I have to physically click “mark as read” for my progress to save in the app. Even then the app progress does not sync with web. Quiz and Cards progress does sync.
- Often while swiping through lessons, the back arrow to exit the reading disappears and I have to force close the app.
- The knowledge check “connect the idea” activities are often bugged and lines between answers disappear off one end of the screen.
- The auto reader stops working after I complete a knowledge check(newer issue) and if I get really unlucky and the back button has also vanished, I have to force close the app just to have the audio work on the next section of a chapter.
- Embedded videos do not play and I’m required to force close the app

**Developer response:** We’re sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with the "mark as read" and "read" green dott. This is not the experience we want you to have. Could you please send us your email ID and course name at support@ucertify.com so our team can investigate and assist you directly? We’re here to help and ensure everything works smoothly for you.

### 2/5 — App barely works

*2025-05-15, version 1.7.1*

The videos in the sections do not load, and after clicking the video, you have to close the app just to go back into uCertify. Progress never updates, and I have to start from the beginning. It's a pretty lousy app when you consider that you have to purchase the material to use with uCertify.

### 2/5 — Needs a lot of work

*2025-05-09, version 1.6.9*

The embedded videos do not load, and when you attempt to load it, you get stuck in a screen with no GUI, and have to force close the app. The knowledge check does not load properly, and only the instructions show, with a gray screen under. Sometimes when you open lessons, there is no way to select different lessons, and only the introduction is available.

### 2/5 — Needs Improvment

*2025-03-23, version 1.6.5*

The literature I was given is outdated by at least 17 years. Text to speech is wonky and could use system instead. The app is super buggy and not worth supporting.

### 1/5 — Dark mode is unusable (web and app)

*2025-03-15, version 1.6.2*

A few weeks ago I contacted web support because the dark mode is unable, with many pages have text the same color as the background. I even provided them corrected css in my email chain.

Turns out the app has the same issue (but somehow worse) on many pages.

On the computer I fix it by overriding the css. Can’t do that in mobile.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-03-13, version 1.6.2*

The automated grading system is broken and there is no support. Don’t pay money to use this awful “automated” learning process.

### 3/5 — Convenient but Buggy

*2025-03-10*

It is very convenient. I love being able to read and listen to the audio when on the go, so I’m not tied to my computer. But sometimes the audio freezes after going to a new chapter and the app has to be restarted to get it to play again. Not a big deal but it can be frustrating because when you restart, it takes you to the main menu where you have to choose the course again. Also, it doesn’t disable your screen from turning off while it’s reading. So you’ll have to temporarily change the setting.

I like that I can do Flashcards and tests through the app but I was only able to successfully use the flashcard feature once (as a quiz). The next time, it registered my score to a different lesson. So now I have to do it again through the browser.

**Developer response:** Thank you for contacting uCertify and apologies for the inconvenience faced. To assist us in investigating this issue, please provide the following information: * Your email ID* A video demonstrating the issues you're experiencing.

### 1/5 — Not functional

*2025-03-01, version 1.6.0*

I cannot open any content on The app.

### 2/5 — Bugs

*2025-02-28, version 1.6.0*

I’ve had one too many instances where things don’t load up properly.

### 2/5 — Buggy reading experience

*2025-02-19*

As another user has pointed out “you can only click on the section heading's 3 vertical dots to get the menu that allows for the section to be read or marked as read, once.” After the initial menu is up and you make a selection, if you try to click those 3 vertical dots again to make an additional selection — you can’t. The menu won’t come up again unless you fully exit out of the app and reopen it.

This is very obnoxious. If you swipe to another subsection of a chapter and need to pause the audio, the narration will end and cannot be restarted unless you exit the app and restart it from the first heading of the chapter.

I also don’t like that my phone’s auto-lock function has to be disabled into order for the continuous listening to be uninterrupted. It’s ironic considering that a lot of the courses offered are ones meant to teach people about good cyber hygiene and privacy practices yet here I am having to keep my phone unlocked in public places in order to listen to ebooks while I’m trying to run errands. God forbid I accidentally drop it somewhere and I’m vulnerable to identity theft. Please consider updating the app to function more like a podcast for users who want to listen without needing to actively look at the content/leave their phones unlocked.

**Developer response:** I'm pleased to inform you that the issue has been resolved. Should you encounter any further problems, please don't hesitate to contact our support team at support@ucertify.com.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Mobile app sucks

*2026-03-22, version 1.9.8*

I would not recommend it regardless on the accessibility, the functions seriously suck and progress doesn’t save from external sites.

### 1/5 — By far the worst learning app around.

*2026-02-26*

Let me tell you about my experience with this app. This training system could have been one of the best in the market but the developers have decided it’s best to go for the cash grab then give its customers a quality product experience. The application itself is riddled with bugs, syncing with other devices is now nonexistent because they have mysteriously taken that feature out of the app, not that it ever worked properly in the first place but that’s besides the point. If something doesn’t work properly you should fix it not make it disappear as if it never existed. So now if you need to switch from your laptop to a mobile device you better hope you don’t lose where you left off, it’s happened to me. Do yourself a favor look elsewhere uCertify is not acting in your best interest, you’re just another cash cow to them.

**Developer response:** We’re sorry to hear about your experience. The issue which you have mentioned syncing it is directly enabled from course dashboard it will auto sync give it a try you don't need to do manually sync now.
If still face issue please contact at support@ucertify.com.

### 1/5 — Really terrible interface for iOS

*2026-01-30, version 1.9.7*

Tried submitting my python homework multiple times on my phone and every time I do, it just freezes or crashes and won’t let me submit it.

### 1/5 — Blank screen

*2025-11-05, version 1.9.4*

Sometimes when I take a while to read or spend some time away from the app I return to a white screen or when I press next page the pages are white and don’t load unless I exit out. The progress is also very inaccurate I have only like 3/10 pages completed on a chapter which is not true.

### 1/5 — App does not link to schooo account

*2025-11-03, version 1.9.4*

I’ve paid $100 and they “can’t” find it despite the email receipt I received from Apple Pay

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-10-17, version 1.9.2*

Nothing will load on my iPad. While it does work on my phone, it won’t mark things as completed. Sometimes it takes several clicks for it to take. Wastes a lot of time I could be using to study my classes!

### 1/5 — Could be MUCH, MUCH better

*2025-08-09*

1. The app does not remember which page to resume after I’ve closed and reopened it.

2. Images and tables are almost always cut off and don’t always load (this is not dependent on internet speed, this is a bug), e.g. Foundations of Data Analytics, BSA/250, Figure 1.2: Decision support framework’s table is cut off without an option to scroll right to view the rest of said table.

3. When dark mode is turned on, all text is changed to white including texts in text boxes that have a white background (said white background will not change to black in dark mode) making it unreadable. There is no scroll bar when in dark mode so I don’t know my progress for each page.

4. When using the listen feature, there is only an option to stop reading at the top right corner. Please add an option to pause to the top right corner as well. Pause is currently only available when clicking on the three dots to the left of each section, but when each section’s text is long, you’ll have to scroll all the way up causing you to lose your place in the reading material. The highlighting feature that follows each sentence being read is also inaccurate. It will often skip much farther ahead. When resuming in read mode, it will not always resume in the correct place.

5. Please add page number.

This app could and should be so much better, it should be just as good (if not better) than the browser version. The app should be reliable enough that users won’t have to return to the web browser, but this is not the case. I often find myself opting for the browser instead of this app.

Did they not QA this app? The UX is below par. It is difficult not to question whether this app was a worthwhile use of engineering resources. In its current state, it falls short of user needs so much that most users end up using the web version instead. The development effort behind this app would be better spent elsewhere unless significant improvements are made.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your detailed feedback. We understand how important it is for the app to remember your last visited page — and we’re actively working on adding resume functionality to improve your experience. Your input helps us get better, and we truly appreciate it!

I see the dev team responded about the resume feature/bug that they’re “actively working on” but not any of the other bugs I’ve mentioned 🤷🏻‍♂️

### 1/5 — Could be MUCH, MUCH better

The app does not remember which page to resume after I’ve closed and reopened it. There is no scroll bar so I don’t know my progress for each page. Screen shots are almost always cut off and don’t always load (this is not dependent on internet speed, this is a bug). Copy and paste is turned off so I’ll have to take screenshots to ask ChatGPT questions. There’s a limit of how many screenshots I can provide ChatGPT each time which makes it challenging when the text is extremely long. When dark mode is turned on, all text is changed to white including texts in text boxes that have a white background making it unreadable (not sure why the app has dark mode but the web version does not). This app could be so much better, it should be just as good (if not better) than the browser version. Has anyone mentioned how frustrating it is to complete quizzes? The only button allowing anyone to go back is gone. And because swiping to go back doesn't work, the only option is to close the app and open it again.

Seems very nitpicky, all of the above. But imagine what an improved UX would be like if all of the above was addressed in some way.

### 5/5 — Great forum factor // UI + Mobile Function needs work

*2026-08-06*

First off high potential app! My only caveats are the UI and navigating lessons could be simpler.

A pin option for the home screen for modules. Also the labs are a bit buggy on mobile.

There’s some bugs on mobile where the task and multi tab selection screen disappears and it sometimes won’t let you submit because it’s too low.
