## What is udictio?

every word, every place, every thing has a page on udictio. yours is on it.

the take you left in a comment section? gone. your best opinions on an album, a show, a city, a person vanish into dying threads. they never accumulate. they never count.

udictio changes that. any song, movie, person, place, news event, concept, or feeling gets its own permanent page. you write your entry, a single line or a full essay, no character limit, links and images welcome. that take lives on the page for that thing. forever. findable. yours.

this is not a feed. this is a social and interactive dictionary where every thing on earth has a page, and many people write what it actually means.

this is not a feed

on udictio, your perspective attaches to the thing itself, not to a timeline that buries it in hours. open the page for severance season 2. for tokyo. for anti-hero. for loneliness. for your hometown. every page holds many people's actual takes, permanently stacked. not buried by an algorithm. not ranked by follower count.

one page. many definitions. the thing gets richer every time someone adds a take. entries stack oldest to newest by default, the way a reference should. filter by newest, most popular, with images, and more.

• channels

music. tv shows and movies. relationships. sports. news. politics. art. travel. tech and science.

whatever you have an opinion on, there is a channel for it and a page waiting.

• wishes

see a topic with no page yet? wish for it. get notified the moment someone writes the first entry. or be that person. define it first, then watch the community add their takes.

• upvote. downvote. favorite.

upvote the takes worth finding. downvote the ones that miss. favorite the takes worth keeping. vote counts are never shown publicly. what rises to the top does so on merit, not on a visible score anyone can pile onto. your favorited entries collect on your profile.

• your privacy is the product

no ads, no ad targeting, no data sold. no algorithm deciding what you read. today, trending, and top are transparent rankings you can understand, not a black-box engagement machine. no public follower count to perform for.

your standing here is built on what you have written. nothing else.

• build your streak. earn your karma.

post daily. keep a streak alive. earn entry-count badges at 10, 100, and 1,000 posts. accumulate karma that reflects substance, not popularity.

• follow topics and writers

follow any topic, a song, a show, a concept, a place, and get an unread badge when new entries arrive. follow users you respect and get push notifications when they post.

• drafts. pinned and highlighted entries. direct messages.

save a draft when the thought is not ready. pin your favorite entry to the top of your profile. add favorites to your highlights list. connect with writers you discover through direct messages.

stop scrolling through other people's takes.

start being the take.

download udictio. write the entry that only you could write. the page for that thing has been waiting.

**Developer response:** appreciate it. more fun stuff on the way.

### 5/5 — Finally

*2026-06-16*

Been waiting for something like this. It's a dictionary but the definitions are people's real takes. Genuinely different.

**Developer response:** thank you, this means a lot. real takes from real people instead of a feed, that's the whole point. tell your friends!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-21

hey, real person writing this update, not a copy paste template.

what’s new:

• messages finally learned how to communicate: read receipts stay in sync, notification replies behave properly, badges stop haunting you after deleting a conversation, and every message gets its own notification instead of being quietly swallowed.
• swipe actions were rebuilt across messages, drafts, wishes, and topic lists. smoother, harder to trigger accidentally.
• search no longer forgets where you came from. open something, tap back, and you return to search. revolutionary stuff.

thank you for sending bugs, wishes, and the oddly specific edge cases. keep them coming.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-07-25

hey, real person writing this update, not a copy paste template.

the big one this time: your topics now live in your iphone's search.

here's the deal. every topic you open in udictio quietly gets added to your phone's spotlight search (the search bar you get when you swipe down on your home screen). so later, when you sort of remember something you read but not where it was, you don't have to dig back through the app. swipe down, type the topic, there it is. tap it and you land right back inside it.

it only keeps topics you've actually visited, it forgets them after 30 days so your search doesn't turn into a junk drawer, and it wipes everything the second you log out. your history stays yours.

also in here: read aloud now picks the best voice for whatever language it's reading, so it sounds a little less like a haunted gps. plus the usual upgrades under the hood you'll never see. i'll try to contain my excitement.

that's it. go search for something you forgot you read.

thanks for being here, more soon.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-07-20

hey, real person writing this update, not a copy paste template.

smaller one this time. notifications mostly, since they had it coming.

• your notifications list is faster and smoother now, and search inside it finally works. before, it would find your results and then hide them behind the search bar where you couldn't see them, which is a pretty bold interpretation of the word "search." fixed.

• the little unread dot that used to lie to you on a fresh open? we had a talk. it counts properly now.

• the compose button taps you back when you press it. is it necessary? not even a little. did i add it anyway? obviously.

plus the usual invisible upgrades under the hood. riveting, i know.

that's it. tiny update, but a few things that quietly drove you nuts are gone. you're welcome.

thanks for being here, more soon.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-17

hey, real person writing this update, not a copy paste template.

this one's packed, so let's go. what's new:

• you can turn any entry into a clean little image and fire it off. instagram story, facebook story, save it, send it, or just grab the link. finally something shareable instead of a screenshot with your battery at 4 percent and three notifications photobombing the top.

• you can listen to entries now. hit listen, it reads the whole thing out loud, pause and resume right from your lock screen like a podcast. for when your eyes are done but your ears are bored.

• siri ai got a lot smarter, and you set up nothing. just talk:

"hey siri, what's trending on udictio"
"hey siri, what's new on udictio today"
"hey siri, summarize the world cup in udictio"
"hey siri, open a topic in udictio"
"hey siri, post an entry in udictio"

it reads you what's hot, catches you up on today, sums up a whole topic without opening it, or posts an entry hands free with the app shut. it gets the natural variations, so no robot voice required on your end either.

• paste images straight into entries, messages, and edits. copy a pic, paste it in, done. no more downloading something just to upload it back four seconds later.

• the small stuff that quietly makes you less annoyed: search that actually finds things, a heads up when someone fills your wish, the app finally reading the room on light vs dark, and pinned entries that look, shockingly, pinned.

plus a big invisible upgrade under the hood you'll never notice. good.

that's it. go share something, or just yell at siri until it listens.

thanks for being here, more soon.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-09

hey, real person writing this update, not a copy paste template.

this one's got actual stuff in it. what's new:

• there's a home screen widget now. drop your trending topics right on your iphone home screen, see what's blowing up without even opening the app, tap one to jump straight in. make the widget bigger and it shows you more.

• you can post with siri. set it up once and you can add an entry hands free, even with the app closed. talk, done. no typing, no opening anything.

• the little ai recap button stopped being so cryptic. when it choked on something it used to just say "couldn't generate a summary" and leave you hanging. cool. thanks. super helpful. now it actually tells you what went wrong and what to do about it, in normal words. and if it ever made you feel like you broke it, you didn't.

• sharper home tab, a pile of little things that were slightly off are now not, plus a big boring upgrade under the hood you'll never notice.

quick note. most apps push updates that just say "bug fixes and performance improvements" and move on. i don't do that. every message, every bug report, every wish you send gets read, and the good ones usually ship within days, not quarters. you tell me what's missing, i build it. that's how this app gets better.

thanks for being here. more soon.
