## What is Ụgwọ?

Ụgwọ (Igbo for "debt" or "obligation") is a private way to track money you've lent and money you owe — without spreadsheets, screenshots, or awkward "did you forget?" conversations.

Whether it's a friend borrowing rent money, a supplier you're paying back in installments, or a favor between family, Ụgwọ keeps a clear, permanent record of who owes what, and when it's due.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Ụgwọ was built on one rule: nobody but you should be able to read your ledger — not us, not a data breach, nobody. Every debt and repayment is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves your phone (AES-256-GCM), and only you hold the key. Our servers store encrypted data they cannot read. No bank connections, no ads, no data sold to third parties.
