### 2/5 — Eh

*2023-07-10*

So, since I’m getting money for wearing a watch I was going to wear, I’m only slightly annoyed. I walk 30 miles a week at work, within 5 days. It tracks my steps just fine, but it will only every blue moon track that I’ve hit the 500 steps in an hour goal. I started with a different phone that it always tracked perfectly. Same job, same steps. Switched phones and now it almost never tracks anything but the amount of steps I’ve walked daily. it takes 15-30 minutes for me to get it sync, even if I’m syncing ut daily. Again, wasn’t an issue with my older cell phone. I’ve had the same watch the entire time. I’ve tried to delete and reinstall both Watch and phone, close out of it fully both watch and phone, it never fixes it. So if you just really ignore it and go hey, it’s free money so I’m just not going to over stress it, you’ll be fine. Also, I walk 30 miles a week. I work 10-12 hour days. I never hit my intensity because I'm not working out after having a workout from being at work all day.

### 2/5 — Apple Watch experience is poor

*2023-01-10, version 4.9.5.3*

I downloaded this app six months ago and had issues with syncing and proper tracking. I reached out to the developer, and they did respond, but I resolved the tracking issue on my own (I had downloaded it while en route to Norway, which set up the timezone incorrectly).

The issues with syncing persisted, and I was frustrated that I had to use other apps to signify a fitness event, so I stopped using the app for a few months.

I began using the app once again in November, knowing its limitations. The app updated in December, and became unreliable with my Apple watch. My watch would indicated I had reached the frequency or intensity goal, but when synced to my phone, I discovered the objective had not been satisfied.

This would not be frustrating if the app synced properly. This app will not sync for 24-48 hours at times. During one 24+ hour period of the app not syncing, I tried closing app, restarting phone and watch, uninstalling app and none of that resolved the sync issue.

Please fix the issue with the Apple watch incorrectly showing goal has completed, and I implore the developers to find a way to make syncing better.

### 2/5 — Needs a complete design overhaul

*2022-10-12, version 4.9.2.7*

Software dev here - Frontend and backend it’s clear this app is thrown together and not well thought out or supported. For one, I know there’s a review on here regarding Apple Watch support “having improved” since years past, but that doesn’t give any answers as to why the Apple Watch needs to “sync” with my phone when the watch is perfectly capable of doing these functions on their own. Sync doesn’t work 90% of the time anyway.

With that, the phone doesn’t need to see the watch directly because all the data it may need is directly available to it in Apple Health, of course they didn’t simply just use that. It would make too much sense.

I understand needing to open the app on the phone or watch daily (or every few days) is required to sync data with UHC. Fine, let’s do that, but re-write this app from the ground up. There’s no reason why any of this should be so troublesome.

I can’t speak for non-Apple Watch fitness trackers, but this app is pretty bad in my experience. Only reason it gets 2 stars instead of one is because it works only after opening and closing the app enough to get it to sync.

### 1/5 — Worst app on my phone

*2022-10-07, version 4.9.2.7*

This has got to be the worst app I have ever put on my iPhone. When I switch jobs we have United healthcare as our insurance policy, and I was excited to hear about being able to get an Apple Watch 5 and walk off the cost of the watch. I don’t know if it’s my brand new Apple Watch 5 or my brand new iPhone SE, but getting these two devices to sync is like asking Democrats and Republicans to come together, it’s a nightmare. Also, the app loses my password nearly every other time I open the app. I’ve had to change my password six times just to be able to open the app. So frustrating! I am about ready to say to heck with the whole dang app and just paid the $350 left to pay for the watch. It’s not worth it anymore!!! Maybe that’s the real reason this app is so awful...so UHC doesn’t have to pay for so many watches. Hmmmm

### 3/5 — Cool program, buggy app

*2022-08-23, version 4.9.0.11*

The UHC Motion program in general is a really cool concept, but the app is really buggy and doesn’t offer a great user experience.

First, the step counts don’t update in anything close to real time. When I first got the app they updated roughly once per minute, and now a couple updates later, it seems totally random. So you can no longer use the watch app to track your steps as you go, instead you have to just guesstimate your steps and hope your count matches what the app says 5 minutes later.

You also have to manually sync the watch and phone apps daily in order to get the promised rewards for your activity. But there’s no real clear UI for performing a manual sync. You just have to open both the watch and phone apps simultaneously and then leave them both open for anywhere from a couple seconds to several minutes while you wait for the “automatic” sync process to start. And even then, there’s no promise your recorded steps will sync properly and attribute the rewards to your account.

Sometimes after a sync of just throws up a message saying it’s taking longer than usual to convert your activity to FIT goals, but that no action is needed on your part. After that it’s like a 50/50 shot whether it’s going to eventually record your achieved goals or not.

**Developer response:** Hi Hite96! Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. We are sorry for issues that you are experiencing and that your experience using the Motion app has been less than ideal. ### 1/5 — Good idea-poor application

*2022-05-24, version 4.8.1.4*

Literally every single day I have issues. I find that I have to sync immediately after each frequency to have a chance. I have a garmin device and have repeatedly called/emailed, and feel like I know what “steps” I’ll be told from a troubleshooting perspective before they tell me. Every morning my phone is charged/device is more than 50% charge (because I know it definitely wouldn’t work if it wasn’t) and everyday it’s like Groundhogs Day. I use an app to track my morning walks and that will at least translate my “intensity”. So I’ll have 1 frequency with 1 intensity, and 800 total steps.

I recently called and was told that Apple Watches and Fitbits are really the only devices that work well. Thus I’m here to read reviews and feel like Apple Watches have the same issues.

As I'm writing this, I just “eclipsed 10,000 steps”, while my device has 17,332….literally every single day…but I get my FIT every purely because you owe it to me.

### 1/5 — What the heck is going on

*2022-04-11*

Not Worth it AT ALL review sums it all up. This app literally stresses me out everyday and takes multiple minutes to sync up with my phone. Also if you forget to sync one day too bad it won’t retroactively see your activity from the day before so it counts for nothing. Complete false advertising on the website it says “just as easy as waking up, putting on your tracker, and start moving” NO not that easy. Put on your tracker, open the tiny little app on your watch, open the app on your phone, wait for them to sync (if you watch sleeps the connection is lost so you have to continue tapping it or scrolling up and down for the 1-4ish minutes it takes for the two to sync) and repeat throughout the day if you want it to actually keep up as a tracker or just do it once at the end of the day to download the data for the day. Customer service is a joke don’t even bother reaching out about it. Just like that other review if I didn’t have it as a work perk I wii ok I’d never come close to using this app.

### 1/5 — Not Reliable

*2022-04-08, version 4.7.9.0*

When I first started using this app over 1.5 years ago, it was great. It would track steps and maintain the data and let you know as you completed goals. It would even sync up to 7 days in the past.

For at least the last 6 months, the app is so unreliable. IF the steps load, it can take up to 20 minutes to show my progress within the current day. As the day progresses and I want to check my additional progress, the whole process of loading starts over because the app won’t retain the information.

I’ve contacted support multiple times and each time they have me pair my watch with my phone again. Ive uninstalled the app on my watch and my phone so many times. I’ve completed the process again today and neither the watch app nor the phone will reflect any activity for today.

I’m so frustrated with the app!! Prior to UH, my insurer was Aetna. Their similar product was much more reliable and kept me motivated. This one just causes me more frustration than motivation. It would be a fantastic benefit if it was reliable.

Coworkers with a Fitbit or non Apple device seem to have much more success. I just don’t think that the Apple app is well supported.

### 1/5 — Not Worth It AT ALL

*2022-04-05*

I have never before written a review for an app, but where do I even begin with this one? We use it for my job, and if I didn’t have the potential to earn money for my HSA, I would have deleted this on day one. The UI with Apple products is pitiful. I have lost more than I have gained with this app and it stresses me out daily. I never know if it's going to correctly count my steps or award me points, and each month, at least 2x per month, I have had to correspond with customer service in order to get back rewards that they didn’t count. Some days I have over 20k steps and the app reports less than 10k. It never matches, and I’ve been kicked out more than I can count. Their answer is always to “delete and redownload”. You’d think a year in there would be some sort of answer to this problem. What’s worse is that I lost out on over $275 when they had the improper information for my HSA and never contacted me to ask why when they tried to deposit the money it didn’t actually deposit… and because it happened in a separate tax year, they’ve NEVER awarded me those funds. So I stepped and stepped and hit every goal for 3+ months to have nothing to show for it. I hate this app. I cannot stress enough that if you DO NOT want to be absolutely ruined every evening trying to figure out why it isn’t syncing or connecting, then don’t download this. It’s seriously not worth it. Do better, UHC Motion. Your customer service + app integration are BOTH despicable.

**Developer response:** Hi sonotessa! Thank you for this review! We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your Motion app processing and recording your earned activities properly. ### 2/5 — Terrible, terrible app

*2022-04-05, version 4.7.9.0*

The absolutely maddeningly difficult process of trying to sync your steps, and having it work intermittently, makes it not worth the trouble for the few bucks you make. You can CRUSH all 3 of your rings, and make just a quarter (IF you remember to sync daily and are lucky enough for it to work and recognize all your steps). 30 minute high intensity cycling workout? Nope, only works on steps. Trying to hit your intensity or frequency goals? Don’t expect it to help you track when you’ve hit them or how much further you have to go.
Absolutely wild that it’s this hard, when SO many apps have a robust and simple interface with Apple health data.
VERY glad I already had a watch. I think the walk it off program really set people up for failure, when UHC had to know how bad the app is.
Writing this review as I finally delete all of it- since it’s also killing my watch battery each day.
Utter garbage.

### 1/5 — Unreliable app - has gotten worse over the last year

*2022-03-26, version 4.7.9.0*

I’ve been using this app for over a year now to get the $3/day from our health insurance. I wasn’t terribly happy with the app originally but it has definitely gone down hill further since November-ish of 2021. Now the app on my watch doesn’t update throughout the day - constantly has the 3 dots updating but so rarely shows information. Takes forever to try to synch to my phone app and the 2 never match anymore. I have to close the watch app repeatedly and then it only shows information from the time it was closed and then won’t update steps/walks again until it is closed again. It’s incredibly frustrating. All my apps are up to date - they should go back to last summer’s version however bc it actually worked then. Whatever bug fixes have been made since have made it much worse.

### 1/5 — Zero Stars.

*2022-03-07, version 4.7.8.0*

With 100% honesty, this app is genuinely terrible.

I have been using this app for around 2 years and it has always been bad, but it seems to have somehow gotten even worse as time goes on.

I haven't been able to get it to sync consistently for many months, even after installing/uninstalling and re-pairing with my watch multiple times. It regularly does not upload my activity when I attempt to sync, and I used to be able to manually sync every few days to earn my rewards but in the last 3-6 months there was an update to the app so that it would not sync data past midnight of that specific day (even though the documentation states that multiple days' worth of data should sync). This means that I have to remember to sync daily, and with the inconsistency in being able to sync at all - even after multiple attempts throughout the day - I regularly do not earn credit for goals that I've met.

Multiple people I know who use this app have reported similar issues, as have many users here. It certainly causes more stress trying to get this thing to sync than any benefits gained from "encouraging" healthy activity. I would not recommend this app to anyone.

### 1/5 — Worst app I’ve ever used

*2022-02-21, version 4.7.7.5*

I never write reviews because don’t have the time. But I have never in my life been more frustrated with a product experience than I have with UHC Motion so I’m taking the time to. If you have an Apple Watch it’s pointless. For example, you can run 10,000 steps and it won’t sync properly and will tell you that it’s 700 steps, even if you’ve followed every step to sync it properly, reset it, and discussed the issue with customer service, your steps will either never sync, or if they do, it will say that you’ve taken 5 steps that day. Their customer service team said 3 months ago that some Apple Watch users are experiencing a glitch and that IT is working quickly to get a solution. That was 3 months ago, same issue- whether you have the Apple Watch Series 3 or Series 7, it makes no difference, this will be a frustrating pain and complete waste of your time and energy. Very disappointed.

### 1/5 — Great idea just rather flaky app with a poor user experience.

*2022-02-07, version 4.7.6.3*

I love the concept of this app and earning HSA money for moving. Unfortunately the software is just klunky and unreliable. I’m a software engineer and the amount of time and number of types I had to reinstall to get this running and paired with my Apple Watch was just insane. The fact you have to pair it separately to the watch rather than leveraging the existing connection through Apple health is also weird to me. You can only sync when the app is active both on your phone and watch is also super annoying. The uploads post sync and seeing your totals update takes a noticeably long time. The whole user experience is just not what I’ve come to expect from a good iPhone app. If you can get past it all though it does seem to work and I love the concept.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate, loses data. Difficult to sync

*2022-02-03*

Like many of you, I use this to get a discount on my health insurance premiums. At first it didn’t connect with my Apple Watch requiring me to delete it and reload it numerous times before it worked. Meanwhile I lost a week of steps that could’ve counted. I saw on one site to “sync at least once a week…” during which I lost another week of data since the rep told me it has to be synced daily, and frequently to avoid losing data.
You have to keep the UMR app open on BOTH the Watch and the phone for it to count, so don’t bother closing windows randomly without making sure those apps are open (and using battery life)
The step counter lags the Apple Watch step counter, sometimes by up to 25%, so you have to overshoot the 10,000 step goal as measured by the Apple Watch to make sure you get credit.
Sometimes the sync doesn’t work, so you have to swipe over and over, and then check your UMR steps, and then if it’s inaccurate, do it again.
I should expect as much from an insurance company to make it difficult to get a premium break, but this is quite aggravating. I suppose it’s par for the course since they also reject claims on a routine basis as well

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Read all the Reviews - Most Recent First

*2023-02-08*

Notice all the complaints about the same glitches. Notice how far back they go. All one star reviews. I have the exact same things happening: frequency ring closes on watch after duplicating or triplicating walks. Slow syncing. And, my recent issue: the app just closes and is frozen on 5 frequency walks. I’m tired of emailing and calling support about these problems. They don’t respond to emails, and when calling, they tell me the frequency ring problem is a “known issue.” Now that I read the reviews and see how long these things have been issues it’s really disheartening. I pay thousands of dollars in insurance premiums, and have had to pay a few more thousand in medical bills. I’m trying to get over a thousand “back” this year and the developers of this app are making it really difficult with all the unfixed long term glitches that they know about. Come on, just fix these things and stop putting automatic replies on reviews asking people to email you and refer to the review. I’ve done that with no reply. It is really sad and pitiful that I continue using this app in hopes to save some money. This is what my healthcare has come to.

**Developer response:** Hi Regular User 2835! Thank you for your review! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work most of the time

*2023-02-08, version 4.9.6.1*

Is this app meant for Apple products? The app on the phone doesn’t show any progress or where you stand, it only shows if it’s completed. The “steps” is the only thing that consistently works. EVERY TIME I open the app on the watch it automatically gives me all 6 of the frequencies at once and shows it completed on the watch, but it won’t transfer over to the phone app to give me any credit because it logs all 6 frequencies at once. The only way to get intensity is legit jogging for 30 minutes. The most frustrating thing is working a 12 hour shift and logging over 19,000 steps and literally not stopped moving for 12 hours, but not getting credit for the 6 frequencies because the app is buggy.
Likely a “feature not a bug situation” since it’s costs me $28 a month in lost benefits, yet they still get to harvest my data. I doubt I’ll be keeping it much longer.

### 1/5 — If you have Apple Watch, don’t bother

*2023-01-25*

NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION. It’s been years of these complaints in the reviews, but it case you were wondering, this app is still horrendous on Apple Watch. Glitches constantly, sends notifications that make no sense, doesn’t update at a speed needed for fitness tracking, and will tell you you’ve hit goals when you haven’t. You have to sit and wait for it to sync with the phone app, sometimes takes 5 minutes because there’s no way for you to make it sync on command. Customer service is useless, admits it’s a issue and just tells you to check the phone app for more accurate data - but how can it have accurate data when it won’t sync with the watch?! Phone app also doesn’t show walk progress and doesn’t update often, so it’s useless when trying to hit a walk goal.

The Frequency goal itself is problematic because I can be on my feet all day, walk over 12k steps, and not hit a single frequency walk because I haven’t done 300 steps in 5 minutes spaced an hour apart. Clearly designed for folks sitting at a desk, not those trying to be truly active throughout the day.

I recommend UHC throw the whole watch app away and just utilize the tracking data from Apple directly. My activity app already tracks steps, frequency, workouts, etc, and I already had to agree to share that data to use the Motion phone app, so why add this useless layer of bugs on top?

### 1/5 — Absolutely terrible

*2023-01-23*

This app is absolutely terrible, but I guess I wouldn’t expect anything less from UHC. It’s like a pretend health plan- they pretend that you have benefits but when it comes to paying for them, they are nowhere to be found.

Supposedly you can earn $3 a day by using this app and completing your steps daily. THE PROBLEM is that to earn those rewards the app has to actually sync with a limited kind of compatible trackers (Garmin is on the list, but not MY style of Garmin watch, even though you use the same Connect app regardless of which Garmin product you have), OR the health app. And as noted previously with all things UHC, their benefits don’t go beyond saying that they exist- as in, you can’t actually use the benefits because the tools they provide DONT WORK. The app lags severely in syncing and therefore your steps are not accurately added and therefore NO BENEFIT FOR YOU.

Even after doing more than double steps for frequency and syncing immediately after it continues to say “next frequency walk “now.” “ I was excited that UHC offered this program but it’s obviously for appearances only. Doesn’t work at all.

### 1/5 — No Support For Apple Watch

*2023-01-23*

Worst app ever, don’t waste your time!!! I would give zero stars if I could. In the time I have used this app in conjunction with my series 8 Apple watch, I am not happy. Watch app constantly shuts down when trying to sync with the phone app. The only way I can get it to sync everyday is to turn my watch off and on several times, so frustrating! I like the idea of gaining rewards for being active, but please calculate & reward fairly. It would be nice if I was actually rewarded accordingly if your step count matched the actual step count built into the watch. Funny how my watch counts 2000 steps more than this app recognizes and gives me credit for…..absolute waste! I would like to continue to support this app, but it needs better integration and support for Apple devices. If you have your own watch and don’t choose the work it off option, you’ll probably always have difficulty syncing the device….Followed the advice from a previous review and sent email to UHC and still haven’t heard back from anyone.

**Developer response:** Hi nolababy1986! Thank you for your review! We are sorry to hear that the Motion app on your Apple Watch is consistently crashing upon use and that the Motion app is not tracking your earned steps properly. If you would, please email us at unitedhealthcaremotion@uhc.com and refer to this review. We would like to get more information on this issue and work with you directly to resolve it.

### 1/5 — Frustrating and demotivating

*2023-01-08, version 4.9.5.3*

App has always had a problem syncing data from Apple watch but this is now at a new low. Has not synced since 12/31. Restart/uninstall/install nothing works to get sync working.
Before this latest nightmare, when it would sync, watch and iPhone often said different things! Sometimes lately the F would suddenly fill up even though I hadn’t done 6 walks. After syncing the phone would show actual count but watch would stay wrong the rest of the day. This meant you wouldn’t get walk reminders. App seems to be disintegrating before my eyes.
Concept is great and it has changed my walking behavior but all that will be lost if it only offers buggy frustrations. Especially when these bugs steal money from me by not counting my walks. For some reason class-action comes to mind.

### 1/5 — Poor Step Tracker, Makes getting the daily goals unrealistic.

*2022-11-29*

We have UHC healthcare for our insurance. As part of our benefit we can use this to get a Fitbit or Apple Watch. Wife got a Fitbit and I got the Apple Watch Series 8. Wife Fitbit works great tracking her steps. The Apple watch step tracker in this application is very poor. The Frequency takes longer to track steps to “meet” the goal. So I end up going farther distance to hit the goal. Wife hits her Frequently goal a good min and a half sooner than I do and we are walking side by side. Today I went for a walk and the Intensity tracker said I hit my goal of 3023 step in 30 min. However it took me 1 hr 26 min and 28 seconds for a total of 3.01 miles before the Intensity tracker ever showed me as hitting that goal. So needless to say on a day to day basis hitting that “Intensity goal” is next to impossible at this time. I really hope the developers will fix this major issue. Especially given I am tying to pay for the Apple Watch with the walk it off program sponsored by UHC. Unless they fix it I am not going to be able to meet the Intensity goal each day. I just had open heart surgery a few weeks ago. So please fix the step tracking function for this app and the Apple Watch series 8 please.

### 1/5 — Inconsistent and inaccurate data with Apple Watch

*2022-11-22, version 4.9.4.4*

The headline about sums it up. I’ve had this app on my phone and watch for about six weeks. First of all the fact that the app needs to be on both platforms (Phone and watch) is ridiculous.
The data is wildly inconsistent, and I can see no
pattern. It misses workouts, it captures step totals that aren’t even close to what’s on Apple health.
The biggest complaint other than it doesn’t track accurately is that the only way to meet goals is to walk 10k steps a day. I don’t walk or run 10k steps most days. Some days I ride 15 miles, other days it’s HIIT for an hour.
The ability to measure and reward the right fitness behavior is missing. Having healthy customers drives down claims. Maybe expand what “counts” towards goals beyond just walking 10k steps a day. (None of my business, but what’s the answer if you’re in a wheel chair?)

For context, I run bike and do core training 5-6 days a week, and have used Apple Watch and Runkeeper to track fitness goals for close to ten years. I’m not new to cross-platform fitness tracking. This app just doesn’t work, which prevents me from my company’s contribution to my HSA account.
Please fix the interface and expand the ability to track other than steps.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-10-12, version 4.9.2.7*

This is, by far, the worst app I’ve ever encountered. The watch doesn’t update properly. You think you’ve done 300 steps in 5 minutes? Think again! Because the watch app doesn’t update at all to tell you how many steps you’ve done. Even if you are successfully about to get it to log the completion of your steps, it constantly deletes your progress each time it attempts to update. Then it crashes.

But don’t worry, keeping track of the progress doesn’t really matter because you can’t sync with you phone anyway. I downloaded the app last week and it still hasn’t allowed me to sync. I get multiple notifications each day to sync, I try to sync, and yet it doesn’t work.

Don’t expect to get any HSA contributions using this app. Just be prepared to be frustrated.

### 1/5 — Getting upset with this app

*2022-10-09, version 4.9.2.7*

How do I qualify for the “intensity” workout on multiple days but then have zero steps in the 10K step section on those same days? And on other days why does it record less steps than my iPhone or Apple Watch record? And conveniently for you guys your app recorded less than 10K steps when my devices were showing over 11K steps. And why does it have such a difficult time syncing with my Apple Watch? I have the app on the watch and phone opened at the same time, I’m swiping on the phone to refresh, and 95 out of 100 times it doesn’t sync. This is pretty frustrating at the end of the day when you’re wanting to do a final sync. Did you design the service to work with FitBits, because my wife and freind with those devices are not having any issues. Needless to say I’m not happy with this service.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Functional app …

*2022-02-06, version 4.7.6.3*

The app functions well. The connection to United Healthcare and distribution of dollars earned requires significant improvement. One would think that a behavioral health tool with extremely high ROI would encourage the beneficiary, in this case the insurance company, to make sure the wearer has an A plus experience. It took a year to work out the kinks. The poor folks who answer the phones should drag the IT department leadership out from behind their desks and force them to listen to the customers. Again, the economic benefits to United healthcare are so significant you think they’d get it right.

### 5/5 — When it works it’s ok

*2021-06-11, version 4.6.5.2*

I have the Apple Watch and and iPhone 12 Pro I have been experiencing issues now where my watch will bug out and starts flashing words across the bottom. When it does this it will not correctly log anything (gave me a 30 min workout with zero steps) and when I sent a message they just told me to restart. I’m more upset with the loss of 14k steps for that day!!! I asked for credit and nothing. In less than 7 days it has bugged out again, mind you all I have to do is reinstall app on my watch and it is happy but I shouldn’t have to do this every week! What I hate is missing the credits when it messes up when I am in competitions at work.

### 5/5 — Needs more

*2020-12-07, version 4.3.6.7*

I’m still very new to the app so I may be complaining about some things that I just haven’t discovered yet. But first, I really like the F.I.T. setup. Encouraging multiple 500 step walls in a day is really beneficial to overall health. It gets you moving all throughout the day not just once. I also think the “walk-it-off “ program is neat though I haven’t really looked into it. What I don’t care for is the focus on walking. I would like to see options for weight training or cardio added. Also more ways to spend your earned dollars. Not just activity trackers but maybe fitness great as well. My 3 star rating may increase as I learn more about the app. Time will tell.

### 4/5 — Update in previous

*2023-10-14*

Thank you for updating for the Apple Watch 9 my syncing is finally working again! Thank you to the motion team for responding quickly and trying to get it to work it clearly needed this update. Let’s hope it continues to work great!

This app works great when it does but it never lasts, some days you get it to sync no problem then come another day and won’t sync for hours or days for some. It especially doesn't work if you change to a different tracker. Please get it to work right once and for all! Follow-up: spoke to UHC motion customer service, they could not figure out why I couldn’t sync after over an hour on the phone. They sent my issue to their resolution dept, which I honestly don’t think it will help. I’m having the same issues as a lot of people on here, won’t sync on demand only syncs if I sign out and sign in sometimes, other times I have to sign out and uninstall the app and reinstall the it might sync. So frustrating, I have the Apple Watch 9 series. Also, my intensity will come through after a 30 min workout but nothing else until I do the steps mentioned above. Please please app de developers fix this.

**Developer response:** Hi Zgirl251! Thank you for your feedback! We are sorry that you are having to consistently log in to the UHC Motion application when trying to use it. Please email us at unitedhealthcaremotion@uhc.com and refer to this review. We would like to get more information on this issue and work with you to resolve it.

### 4/5 — Awful app

*2021-11-29, version 4.7.3.11*

I have been using the app for about 6 months and it’s been awful. Can’t depend on syncing because at least once every 8-10 days I have to send in missed sync days to support. Those are days where the app will not sync with my Garmin tracker. So about 2 days every 8 to 10 days. Very disappointed. The Garmin app works great, the UHC Motion app is terrible.

UPDATE
It’s been over a year that I have been using the app. Multiple reports into support and the app is worse now than it’s ever been. It’s been 17 days since I have been able to sync. My Garmin app works flawlessly but this app has been terrible. Support recommends the same things each time. None of the recommended actions work and each time I report back I get a message suggesting the same things the previous support person suggested. Bad app and support hasn’t been helpful.

**Developer response:** Hi GC In Texas! Thank you for feedback! We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue where the UHC Motion app is not consistently syncing with your Garmin device. Please email us at unitedhealthcaremotion@uhc.com and refer to this review. We would like to get more information on these syncing issues and work with you to resolve them.

### 4/5 — Couldn’t be more frustrated

*2021-07-19, version 4.6.6.5*

I was really excited when I learned of this program as we recently changed health insurance! I’ve been very frustrated with the difficulty in getting the data to sync accurately and award the goals I meet! I have emailed numerous times and rarely hear back and spend a half hour on the phone with support the other day! I’m not convinced the experience is going to improve anytime soon. I wear a Garmin 945 that is not compatible so I’m left to use my iPhone to track my activity. Today, 3 frequency walk were not counted even though they were more like 500 steps in 5 minutes! The app takes forever to sync if it does so at all! All I can say is there is A LOT to improve! I know I’m not the only one frustrated with this! Please listen to our feedback!

### 4/5 — App is ok to good for me with trio

*2020-11-21*

Have been doing this program a long time using the trio I got originally. App had gotten better over time. I think my last rating was 4 stars. From other reviews and friends using the app I was so glad I was still using the trio instead of an Apple Watch or other device.

Not happy they aren’t going to support the trio device anymore. I have a severe metal allergy and need something where no metal touches my skin. I am having to do a work around with a third party silicone clip-on accessory with one of the fitbit devices. Who knows if that will work. What I have is working and ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ should apply here.

I do want to commend the company for giving me a credit in the shop to help pay for the new device since they will no longer support my current device, but they need to have a clip-on device in their store. Many people have metal allergies.

Some people have complained about the customer service. I have lucked out with the people I have talked with. They have been as helpful as possible. My issues are with the app and the devices they support, not with customer service. The most recent guy I talked with helped me find the work around of using a third party clip-on accessory with the Fitbit. If this works well, I will come back and modify my review.

### 3/5 — Excited but Dissapointed

*2024-02-05*

I downloaded this app earlier after finding out that I qualified for it through my healthcare plan. I was excited to start using it to pay for a Apple Watch using their Walk it Back program but after ordering my watch the app will not link to my Health app on my Iphone so I can not begin using it to see how it works while I wait for my new watch to be delivered. I am hoping that some of the reviews I have read are not true but so far I am skeptical. Please fix the linking issues as I followed the videos and my health app is showing that all permissions are granted to the Motion app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and have turned my phone on and off again. I am looking forward to using this perk if it can work properly. I gave 3 stars because the ordering of the watches worked seamlessly but the rest of what I have seen of the app does not work.

### 3/5 — Issue with latest update

*2023-01-14, version 4.9.6.1*

Ever since the latest update, I have never been able to sync a completed frequency goal on my phone app. It always shows on my watch correctly that I have completed my frequency goal but when I go to sync on my phone app, it shows five out of six complete never six out of six. I tried deleting the app and then powering off my Apple Watch and my iPhone for over a minute and then powering my iPhone back on re-downloading the app re-logging in powering back up my Apple Watch and then re-syncing and still it has not worked. I will continue to call United healthcare motion customer support each day so that way I get my credit due for completing my goal and until this issue is resolved. I am currently due 4 credits as of now .

### 3/5 — A long way to go

*2022-09-02, version 4.9.0.11*

A great idea with a lot of kinks to work out. For starters, I have a Garmin watch that I use everyday that isn’t compatible with the app. Only a select activity trackers work with the app. They give you 55 dollars towards buying a device but what a waste since I already have one. There are $55 tracker options so it’s free but then what, have to wear two watches because one can’t track my runs as well and the other doesn’t work with the app?

Also get tons of error notifications and earnings info isn’t consistent across different pages. Hopefully they continue to work on this because it’s not super reliable right now which is a big deal when over a thousand dollars a year is on the line
