## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.94.4 — 2026-09-03

Photo galleries. Articles can now carry more than one picture. Swipe through the gallery, tap any image to view it full screen, pinch to zoom, and jump between pictures with the thumbnail strip.

Your fact checks, kept for you. Running a fact check now uses your free UK Fact Check account (just an email address, or continue with Apple), and every check you run, in the app or on the website, is saved under Your fact checks in your profile. Checks still in progress and any that failed are listed there too.

See what's being checked right now. Recent Fact Checks shows checks other readers have just submitted as they run, and swaps in the finished report the moment it lands.

A clearer poll tracker. The Polls page now opens on our poll of polls: an aggregate of the ten most recent voting-intention polls, which gives a more accurate picture than any single poll. The page says so in plain English, and you can still narrow it to the latest poll if you prefer.

Also in this release: the profile shows how you signed in, and a fix for a rare case where the recent fact checks list could appear empty.

### 1.94.3 — 2026-08-13

• Fixed unreadable buttons in dark mode across sign-in, Polls, the Fact
  Checker and donations
• Fixed a large empty gap above images inside articles
• The home page now scrolls far enough for the last stories to clear the
  bottom bar
• Sign-in problems now explain what went wrong instead of failing silently

### 1.94.2 — 2026-08-12

A fresh look, easier sign-in, and smarter sharing.

Redesigned home screen — A cleaner front page matching ukfactcheck.com: easier-to-read story cards, a new Public Fact Checks panel with trust-score dials, and a one-tap route to checking a claim yourself.

Sign in with one tap — The account screen has been rebuilt and simplified. Continue with Apple, or enter your email and we'll send you a sign-in link — no password, no forms, and the link now opens straight into the app, signed in. Magic links also create your account if you're new.

New colours — The app now wears the blue from our logo. Red is reserved for what it should mean: a claim that didn't check out.

Sharing — Share stories to Reddit and Instagram alongside the usual options, and a quick confirmation now appears when you save or remove a story.

Also improved:

The app opens with everything in place — no more content jumping as the page loads
Pages now scroll clear of the bottom navigation, so nothing is hidden behind it
A caution now appears before you open the original material behind a fact check
The profile icon subtly shows when you're signed in
Bug fixes and polish throughout

### 1.94.1 — 2026-08-10

The Fact Checker has been rebuilt around one idea: you should never
be left wondering whether your check is still running.

• Checks start instantly — no more waiting on a spinner that might
have given up. A progress view shows exactly what's happening at
every stage, including which article is being read and checked.

• Leave whenever you like. Your check keeps running even if you
browse the news, close the app, or lock your phone — and we'll
send you a notification the moment your report is ready. Tap it
  to open the result directly.

• If a check fails, you'll see why, with one-tap retry. Checking
the same link twice now joins the existing check instead of
  starting over.

• Recent Fact Checks can now load your full history with Load More.

• Quality of life: a clear (×) button on the link field, which also
clears itself once your check completes.

• Image checks now focus purely on fact-checking the text in your
  photo or meme.

• Fixed a duplicated notifications toggle on the Profile page.

Better search

Search now returns many more results instead of just a handful, and
each result shows its image, section and date — so you can find the
story you're after at a glance instead of reading a list of headlines.

### 1.91 — 2026-08-08

A cleaner, faster UK Fact Check — the biggest redesign yet.

A new look
One Home feed now brings you every story, newest first — just keep
scrolling. The new floating bar gets you to Home, the Fact Checker
and Search in one tap, and tucks itself away while you read.

Browse and search, together
Tap the search button to browse every topic or search all our
reporting — with thumbnails, dates and clear results.

Make it yours
• Save stories for later from the new ⋯ menu on every article
• Make article text larger or smaller — it remembers your choice
• Notifications control now sits at the top of your Profile

Your donations, in one place
Profile now shows your full donation history — every contribution,
in the app or on the website, with dates, amounts and receipts.
Thank you for supporting independent fact-checking.

How we fact check
A new page in the menu explains the green tick, the trust scores,
and how our checking works — our own algorithm, AI-assisted
evidence gathering, and human editors overseeing everything.
Plus a quick explainer on the poll tracker, right where you see it.

Also in this update:
• Checking a link or image is simpler — one screen, one tap
• Fixed a sign-in issue that could sign readers out unexpectedly
• Audio articles now play and scrub their full length
• Fixed article text showing the wrong colour after app switching
• Articles retry automatically on poor connections
• Policy pages rewritten in full, and they follow your text size
• The app lets you know when a new version is ready

Save stories for later
Tap the bookmark icon on any article to save it. Find everything
you've saved in Profile → Saved Stories.

Your donations, in one place
Profile now shows your full donation history — every contribution,
whether made in the app or on the website, with dates, amounts
and receipts. Thank you for supporting independent fact-checking.

Better search
Search has been redesigned, with thumbnails, dates and clear
results — and it now tells you when nothing matches.

Also in this update:
• We now ask about breaking news alerts at a better moment, once
you've had a chance to see what we cover — not on first launch
• Fixed a sign-in issue that could sign readers out unexpectedly
• Articles retry automatically on poor connections
• Removed the old Clear Cache & History option
• The app lets you know when a new version is available
• App version now shown in Profile → App Settings
