I downloaded it and even paid for the subscription, but to be honest, it didn’t live up to the expectations set by the advertising. There aren’t enough places listed, especially in the Midlands, and most locations only have a single image, which isn’t very helpful. It feels like the app is still missing a lot of the “gems” it promises. In comparison, I’ve found Atlas Obscura (a free app) to offer a much wider range of interesting places to explore. Sadly, I’ve had to cancel my subscription for now. I hope future updates bring more content and improvements—there’s potential here, but it needs more work. ### 1/5 — Requires payment and monthly subscription to use the app *2025-06-27, version 3.0* After downloading, it asks for monthly subscription of £4 to use the app. Why not put this upfront on App Store so people know it’s not free before downloading? ### 1/5 — Where’s the hidden gems 🤣 *2025-05-04, version 2.1* Very sparse, I could make something better myself! I downloaded the app in preparation for my London trip next month but I get an error notification every time I try to subscribe to see the rest of the gem locations. There’s a senseless micro transaction system as well. If you’re going to make an app, it needs to have a USP and have value for the user. Whilst there may be some special places most are the tourist traps the apps blurb says this will help you avoid. Seems to be a glorified carpark finder. Sunday went to use the app and now it does not work. !!!! The fact that this involves a monthly or yearly subscription should be made clear to save downloading the app and finding out the first time you open it. Yes you get a few free ideas the first time, but given that the majority of these involve a trek of 100 miles or more, they’re not actually much use to me on a daily basis. We make tv shows and took all our content of off Amazon prime as people didn’t like the subscription price so moved it all onto YouTube. Now make more money than ever from adds. Maybe they should give out app for free triple their subs and get sponsors. Such a shame as all the bad stars are about the cost of the app. When they have such a great product. And like people are saying all the info is free on instagram.
