Which is a pity because it does provide access to OS maps with proper rights of way information so if that’s all you want, it may be the right answer. However, if you need support due to the very thin instructions, choose something else. The big problem is that your in-app purchases are not refundable so if you purchase a load of maps you could end up hundreds of pounds worse off once you discover they are not usable due to the current faults, or any ones that develop in the future on this abandoned app. ### 1/5 — Very very disappointed. *2023-02-27* I feel robbed. I thought, judging by the description, that I could create a route and export it as a gpx file. Well, that may be true if only the thing was usable - which it isn’t. Help is no help in providing guidance on how to use the interface. By searching around one can find, within the ‘files’ menu item, the possibility of creating a new route and adding a new waypoint; except that the waypoint created isn’t or does not appear to be at the point selected. Deleting the waypoints does not restart sequential numbering it just picks up from the number last assigned. I have failed to create any route, let alone one that may be of use so I have no idea whether it is possible to create and export a gpx file. In my view the interface is a disgrace. i begrudge evert penny of the £6.99 I paid. Just fortunate, I guess, that I didn’t buy additional maps. ### 1/5 — Poor poor poor *2023-02-19, version 4.6* I always learn the hard way. Just stick to OS maps, this app is absolutely useless for navigation on the go. Poor detail , don’t be fooled by others on here posting it’s greT detail (it’s not, they must be promoting it and getting paid) . The free maps – open street map, I think – are incredibly good and arguably better than the OS maps. I use this for walks all the time. Tried the ‘Restore’ button a few times but didn’t fix the problem. The FAQ page is useless, there’s no telephone number in their website and the email link is disabled so there’s no way for me to get help. There are better and more functional navigation and map apps available. ### 1/5 — Difference between U.K. and GB *2024-05-06* Having paid for and downloaded the app because it said U.K., I found that it only had England, Scotland and Wales. For a map company, you would think they knew the difference between U.K. and GB. So if the developer reads this - the difference is U.K. includes Northern Ireland and GB does not. Again, people visiting Northern Ireland as well as those living in Northern Ireland are discriminated although we are allegedly part of the U.K. To the developed - please change the name or alternatively please include Northern Ireland as we are very welcoming to walkers with some great outdoor areas including the Mournes, Lakelands and North Coast. It allows you both to get very good free maps based on a clever mash up of os data and open street map data and to purchase OS Maps at very reasonable prices for areas you want. ### 5/5 — Best Map App *2025-05-10, version 4.11* After having the map app and using it from planning routes and finding locations. I like the way the Maps are presented and I like the amount of control that is available to the user. I record my activity tracks and export the files to computer to file away. I download gpx files of trails from websites e.g. Pennine Way, and open in this app, to navigate along the trail. One off payment, and access to maps wherever I am in the UK. Sure, the free OS maps aren’t as good as the superb OS Explorer maps, but with most footpaths cleverly overlaid they’re good enough for my needs and a far more cost effective option than buying individual maps, or an OS subscription. Shame it doesn’t work abroad! ### 5/5 — New user review *2023-07-31, version 4.6* This is great. Buy the app and get free access to 1:25k vector maps. Download the whole of the UK if you like or just the rectangular areas you need and save phone memory. Lovely interface as moving map fades from one to another as you zoom in/out. Addition purchase to download mapping tiles at 1:25k or 1:50k OS raster mapping (Landranger) This is now one of my favourite mapping apps on the iPhone. TopoGPS being my other one I am also evaluating before making my selection of which to invest in for more map purchases. ### 5/5 — The map app for the UK *2023-07-26, version 4.6* I like maps and have looked at lots of map apps but this is the one for walking, cycling etc in the UK. It is one of the main reasons I have stayed with iOS. I wrote that review a few years ago and this is still my favourite map app for the UK. ### 5/5 — Superb *2023-04-29* This is a truly great app. I used it whilst on holiday. For £7.99 you get the whole UK down to 1 to 10,000. I found it brilliant for sitting in the passenger seat navigating by and also having the town maps for the places I visited was great. You have to download the maps you require before hand so you have to plan what you need but there are then no connection issues whilst traveling. I have always loved using OS maps in their paper form when on holiday but this is possibly even better.
