Any advice ### 3/5 — Used to be good… *2026-03-06, version 2024.2* I tried to open this app recently and it kept attempting to load and then said there was a connection error. I tried to load it with my phone data as well just in case there was potentially a problem with my router. Nope. It’s a problem with the app. Like I said, this was a good app. Please sort it out! I even paid for add free. However since Tax year 22-23 I find this app isn’t as accurate as it once was. **Update**after speaking with the developer I understand some of this was out due to the increase in NIC and also as it doesn’t take into account automatically the pension tax relief. It is possible to go into the app and do a payslip calculator which is slightly more accurate, however I always liked the quick and easy part of this. Either way I think this is still the best version of the UK Tax Calculator around. ### 5/5 — Edited review: perfect tax app *2022-04-10, version 2022.2* Update: Developer quick to respond and app has been updated. All working as it should again. Back to being the best all round tax Calc app. Have been using this app for a couple of years and been happy, but no longer deducts pension contributions correctly when entered as a %, instead deducts the figure in £ - response to developer below. While this works in the single income section, it absolutely DOES NOT work in the payslip calculator. You may wish to test again. ### 5/5 — Fab *2022-04-07, version 2022.1* 5 stars. I hope they add a household calculator so married (or unmarried) couples can see their combined salaries or see the impact of sharing tax free allowances and other perks that may be applied for and how they influence (possible versus working full time). ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work in some circumstances *2025-12-09, version 2024.2* I bought this app a few weeks ago and now regret it. If you use any additional tax allowances, for instance, Marriage Allowance, it will not calculate tax on savings interest correctly. I’ve emailed them about this but have had no response. Beware! ### 1/5 — Data Collection *2024-12-23, version 2024.2* Didn’t use it once. I instantly remove any app that insists of those stupid opt out data collection cookies. The personal allowance is calculated correctly but is not used to determine taxable income resulting in income tax being understated. It should be 5 star but the calculated taxable amount is incorrect for a single income option. This leads to an incorrect the total taxed and then the net income values. It explained the confusion of other reviewers when comparing the app’s results with HMRC calculations. It is worth to double check this with different tax code and with other options. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great for commission earners *2025-12-10, version 2024.2* Working in sales, my after-tax income varies each month. This allows me to accurately calculate my take home pay, factoring in pension contributions from my base salary and my tax code. It takes me seconds to input my commission to know what I’ll be paid, and it’s very accurate (maybe 0.5-1% difference to the figure that hits my bank). Highly recommend! I’ve happily paid for the ad-free version and have used this for around 2+ years. I personally use the multi-income salary to enter my base, then select a second PAYE income for comms. No matter what I do, it refuses to deduct any national insurance contributions. Hope HMRC follow suit :) Update. Looks like just a threshold thing. My retirement age is 66 and the app thinks it’s 65. If I change the DOB on by one year, it works fine.
