You Lear new words by description, images and usage and then you test your knowledge by playing multiple choice question. ### 4/5 — Best Vocab App *2022-03-19, version 0.6.8* I recently found this app after trying almost every single other vocab app in the app store. This app starts you off immediately with new, difficult, challenging words while also giving you the ability to review and understand them before continuing. Most other apps start you off with basic english and there isn't really a way to 'test out' of that and skip to a higher language level. This is without a doubt the best vocab app you can get, and its teaching methodology is pretty good, it does make it easy to learn the words. Now, this app has 5 star potential, and the only reason i withheld a star is because I have a few suggestions and i want the developers to see my review hopefully and throw these things in because it would drastically improve the apps learning and memorization techniques. 1. Once you've gotten the definition and word association/closest–in–meaning questions right a few times the words move into the 'mastered' category and the interactive learning element gets taken away. Once they're mastered all you can do is go in and read the definition like a dictionary. I love that they compile the mastered words and make them readily available for review instead of getting rid of them or locking them away, but I would absolutely love to see them add the ability to go in the mastered category and be able to review quiz on the definitions of those words at any time, as often as you want, in order to solidify your understanding of the words because they certainly are not actually 'mastered' after a few right answers. 2. I would also love to see a question format where you are given a fill in the blank sentence and then 4 word choices and you have to choose the right word. This would exercise your word recall and require you to utilize your understanding of the definition of the words in order to properly use them which then helps with overall memory and understanding. You could even make this explicitly the review quizzes you do in the mastered category, or you could throw them into all the levels, either one would be great i think. If these features are added i will add the fifth star, but id also like to reiterate that this is the best vocab app on the app store for established english speakers wanting to challenge and improve their vocabulary. Although, what I would like to point out is that each time I have tried clicking on the answer choices, it just doesn’t do so. The other options however work well whenever clicked but not the answer choices. I had decided to wait until anyone else had a similar problem, or maybe it could be resolved in any of the updates. Tried whatever I could but still can’t seem to make it work. Would be really great if you could help. But since I got a new phone I couldn’t log into my account. I tried to make a new username and there was an error. I went to my old device and deleted it from the phone erased my Apple ID then tried again on my new phone and it still gives an error message when logging in. I tried contacting the developers and they have not responded. I think you guys should remove the app if you aren’t going to fix the issues. This has been going on for months. Everything is really good, I just have one complaint: when I’m viewing the words in my sets, I’m unable to see the ones that are under Memory Mode until I unlock it. I find this pretty annoying because I’m able to do this for all the other sections. All the words I’ve learned have been piling up into Memory Mode, and I’ve been forgetting some of them because of that. I would have 0 complaints with this app if you could fix that. It would definitely help a lot with remembering terms.
