### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-12-01*

Why this app exists? Does nothing and you have to set up the app every time you get in the app. This makes GM look bad!

**Developer response:** We would like to learn more about your experience so that we can look into this further. When you are able, please send us an email at socialmedia@gm.com to get started. -Jordan

### 1/5 — What good is this app?

*2024-11-29*

I love my charger . I paid great money to have an app that actually tracked stats .
With this app it does nothing.
Cheaper chargers have apps that show you how long you’ve charged and the stats to everything. With this app GM is dropping the ball.
Once the app is updated and user friend I will revise my review but until then this is a 1 star for the app . 5 star for charger .

### 1/5 — What is this?

*2024-11-22*

There is not really anything in this app. It doesn’t remember your charger, connecting it to WiFi does absolutely nothing. Doesn’t give details on if it’s working.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review. This isn’t what we hope to hear. Rest assured, our team is always hard at work finding ways to improve our app. ~Charly

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2024-10-13*

This app does absolutely nothing. What is the purpose of even connecting the charger to wifi when it doesn’t give you any information about what’s going on? Literally nothing and worthless.

**Developer response:** We are sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with the app. Our team would be happy to look into this. To get started, email us at socialmedia@gm.com with more details. -Jordan

### 1/5 — Will not connect any longer

*2024-08-24*

Used to connect. Will not find charger. Deleted app, reinstalled, checked bluetooth, wi fi, restarted phone, tried a different phone, just does not work.

**Developer response:** Thank you for providing the troubleshooting steps you have already taken. Moving forward, we'd like to take a further look into things on our end and assist. Please send an email to us at socialmedia@gm.com with the subject line "ATTN: Ultium Charge 360/Bueler" so we can help. ~Helen

### 1/5 — First time user

*2024-08-12*

I’m having issues to open the app, it just blink and close once I open it.

**Developer response:** Sorry for the difficulties you've been experiencing. As an initial troubleshooting step, we recommend uninstalling/reinstalling your app to ensure you have the most recent version. If you continue to have trouble, please email socialmedia@gm.com with "ATTN: Ultium Charge APP/FAC68" in the subject line so we can assist. -Jordan

### 1/5 — The most basic of basic

*2024-08-05*

The app lets you adjust the charge rate. That is literally it. Nothing else.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your feedback and will document for our internal departments. -Jordan

### 1/5 — Trash

*2024-07-04*

It does nothing. Waste of time. It is ridiculous if comparing with others chargers apps.

### 1/5 — A child could’ve made a better app

*2023-10-01*

UPDATED 10/1/23: in response to my response to their response (!) I thought it’d be fair to update this review. Still keeping it at 1-star as the all-star team behind this app steadfastly refuses to provide a timeline as to when updates will be made, commit to any specific updates, or tell me anything useful. Instead of saying benign, general b.s. like ‘we’ll forward your feedback to the design team’ what these ‘geniuses’ should do is provide specific, detailed information right in the app description - indicating what the plan is for upcoming enhancements. Again, a child could’ve made a better app than this. EPIC FAIL. UPDATED 9/13/23: Developer replied with a generic response. I emailed them and will update my rating IF improvements are made to the app. As of this writing, the app allows you to dim the lights on the charger and set the charging level. Wow, that’s really a top notch app. So I can’t check the charging level from inside my house, while on the same Wi-Fi network as the charger? Really? I can’t check on the charging status if I went out to eat with family or friends and left my car at home? No one heard of this new thing called the internet? Come on people. Can you imagine the product development team meetings? ‘Hey, what’s the least effective charging app we can rush out to market?’ #1 function that we must have is the ability to adjust the lighting! Customers are really clamoring for that. With genius thoughts like that, the promotions must’ve come fast & furious for the coding wizards that made this drivel. My grandmother could’ve done a better usability study and come up with better ideas. I’d be embarrassed to be going to work and tell people I was on the team that was responsible for this app. I say that in all seriousness. It’s that bad. Get a ChargePoint one instead. ORIGINAL REVIEW: One has to connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Why on God’s green Earth did someone think this was a good idea? Absolutely useless. What can you do with this app? Change the brightness of the useless glowing front panel and then the capacity of the charge. Can I look at anything remotely? Of course not. It’s 2023, why provide that functionality? Wow, so much functionality I can’t stand it. Glad GM recommended this to me.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your updated review. These sentiments certainly aren't what we hope to hear. Rest assured, our team is always hard at work finding ways to improve our app. Should you like any additional assistance going forward, you can email us at socialmedia@gm.com with "ATTN: PowerUp/This space intentionally left blank" in the subject line at any time. ~Jacob

### 1/5 — Only good for setting it up

*2023-02-21*

Can only connect to it by Bluetooth even though it requires Wi-Fi… no way to figure out what caused errors as the app don’t tell you.

Sad app. If I had known I would have looked more for a different 48 amp charger…

**Developer response:** Thanks for sharing this here. At this time, we kindly ask you to uninstall/reinstall your mobile app. This will ensure that you have the latest most up-to-date version of the app. If this does not solve your concerns, please send an email to socialmedia@gm.com. We would be happy to look further into this on our end. ~London

### 1/5 — Useless App

*2023-01-22*

This app does nothing. It tells me that my Ultium PowerUP EVSE is “ready” but the charger doesn’t work at all, and the app provides no guidance other than a phone number to a foreign call center that is equally unhelpful.

Additionally, the app only allows the user to set the amperage to 50, and not the max of 60 that the EVSE is rated for with a hardwired install on 6ga wire.

I suppose this is par for the course with GM and apps, though. I will be looking elsewhere for my EV needs.

### 1/5 — Won’t add to GMC app

*2025-08-23*

Charger is installed and paired with the Ultium app. But when you attempt to add it to the MyGMC app, it tells you to add with the Ultium app and you’re stuck in a loop.

**Developer response:** We understand how frustrating it can be when the app is not operating as it should. As an initial troubleshooting step, please uninstall/reinstall your app. If you continue to have concerns after that, email us at socialmedia@gm.com with "ATTN: Ultium PowerUP APP/Chob" in the subject line so we can assist. ~Alyssa

### 1/5 — Super basic

*2025-08-05*

The app only has 2 features. Brightness adjustment for charger lights and adjustments to power output to vehicle.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your honest feedback regarding your app experience and have documented your sentiments for further review. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to email us at socialmedia@gm.com with “ATTN: UltiumPowerUP app/Jadenkc” in the subject line. We’re always happy to help. ~ Jack

### 1/5 — Pretty blah app

*2025-05-02*

For the price of the Ultium Level 2 charger, I expected it to be more than just a “dumb” charger. There’s no stats, no how much electricity was used, no start/stop time. Nothing. The charger is even hooked up to my WiFi and gets great signal but not even sure what’s the point of it even using WiFi if it doesn’t tell me anything. It seems it’s just for GM purposes only. I hope that there’s a way that GM could do an update over WiFi to gives us some sort of functionality and stats.

**Developer response:** We understand how frustrating it can be when the app isn’t working. Our team would like the opportunity to assist with your concerns and get your app up and running again. ### 1/5 — App is awful

*2025-04-25*

I am going to have to agree with the other reviewers that this app is only good for setting up the charger. Even the connection to the vehicle apps tell you nothing except that the vehicle is charging and when it will stop. No stats on electricity usage or anything else that will help you to manage the cost of your EV lifestyle. The planning tools are there but are not simple and user friendly. This is a miss on what could be a very efficient linkage between vehicle, charger and human.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review. This is certainly not the experience we want you to have with the app. When you can, please send us an email with more details to socialmedia@gm.com and “ATTN: Ultium PowerUP/Tecistoo” in the subject line. We would like to look into things further with you. ~Jada

### 1/5 — Great Charger, Useless App – Did GM Forget to Hire Developers?

*2025-04-23*

The Ultium PowerUp+ charger delivers solid speed, no complaints there. But the app? It’s basically vaporware with a login screen. It asks you to connect to WiFi to avoid re-pairing—then makes you re-pair every single time you open it. That’s not a bug. That’s a failure of basic product management.

Functionality is laughable. You can adjust the electrical current output, and… that’s it. No charge speed. No session tracking. No kWh used. No scheduling. No smart integrations. For a company selling six-figure EVs, this bare-minimum software experience is borderline insulting.

There’s so much potential here—GM just needs to stop phoning it in and actually assign some real developers to this thing. Right now, this feels less like “Ultium PowerUp+” and more like “Beta Access to a Science Fair Project.”

**Developer response:** We're saddened to hear of your frustrations to the Ultium PowerUp app. GM is continuously hard at work exploring new ways to improve the application's overall experience. Nonetheless, we'd like to learn more to the difficulties you're having to assist best. Please send an email to socialmedia@gm.com with "ATTN: PowerUP/stmcclain" in the subject line. We look forward to your outreach. ~Jordan

### 1/5 — Useless, can’t setup charger

*2025-04-14*

App just crashes, tried on 2 phones. Unable to setup charger and charge my vehicle leaving me stranded. GM supports suggestion was to get vehicle towed to another charger. What a joke.

**Developer response:** This is not what we want to hear, Matt, and our team would like to learn more. Please send an email to us at socialmedia@gm.com with the subject line "ATTN: myBrand app/Matt_B100" so we can further help. ~ Ashley

### 1/5 — Why pairing every time ??

*2025-04-08*

May I know why every time I open the app it forces me to pair again?
I thought the app will open on charging settings!
Why do I have to change settings every time instead of saving it?

**Developer response:** Our team understands how frustrating it must be to constantly go through the pairing process. When you have a moment, please reach out to us by emailing socialmedia@gm.com so we may learn more and assist. ~London

### 1/5 — Please upgrade or solve the problems this app is completely garbage it’s not working

*2025-04-06*

Please upgrade or solve the problems this app is completely garbage it’s not working added ultium power up many times but after completing every single attempt it’s ask to connect over again

**Developer response:** We're sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing with the app. Our team asks that you uninstall/reinstall your mobile app as an initial troubleshooting step. ## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — How do I unpair from Ultium app

*2024-07-24*

I downloaded the Ultium powerup app, paired the device and prepared for my future unknown EV.
Everything works perfectly. However, now I have a Chevy Ev and I would like to pair this to my Chevy app, but when I try, it tells me the charger is paired to another account.
I would like to delete the Ultium app and have one combined Chevy ev app.
Therefore, I need to know how to unpair this from the Ultium PoweUp app so I pair to myChevy app.

**Developer response:** Hey, Dirk. Please know that if you have any questions, you can send us more details via email to socialmedia@gm.com and “ATTN: myChevrolet app/Dirk NYC” in the subject line. We'd be happy to review things with you. ~Yaritza

### 4/5 — kWh?!

*2024-05-31*

Would like to see kWh usage and output speed to vehicles

### 2/5 — Dumb charger and software

*2025-06-29*

Needs to interface and report to other software and hardware to allow control of charging and to report data

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the charger and software interface. We appreciate your feedback and have documented your sentiments for further review. Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us via email at socialmedia@gm.com, including “ATTN: Ultium PowerUP app/rgmichel” in the subject line.
