### 3/5 — Connection drops constantly

*2019-11-24, version 1.2.1*

The connection with the bed was fine for about a month. I used the remote once and now the connection is always dropped. I have to go to Bluetooth settings and connect, then wait about 30 seconds for the app to realize it’s connected. Pita to use. I keep hoping the devs fix the connection issue but it hasn’t happened in almost two years. Just end up using the remote. It’s a lot faster

### 3/5 — iPhone/iPad remote

*2019-10-15, version 1.2.1*

I like the app, and really like the alarm feature, but there is one glaring deficiency. The timer to change positions doesn’t work. This is one reason I need the bed. I have back problems, so I need to be able to schedule position changes to take place in middle of the night when I’m sleeping. However, this part of the app does not work. Also I would like one-touch buttons on physical remote and online remote if possible. Is there a way to change the physics remote to do this? As is, buttons must be held down for the function to take place. One more thing, a zero gravity button would be very helpful!!Thanks so much! JC

About one year later:
Since I wrote the review NOTHING has changed!! No updates in this app and therefore no fixes. Things have been left not working for a year! I’m very disappointed. I spent a lot of money on my adjustable bed. One of the selling points was this app that doesn’t fully work. I really do need the timed position change. I’m shocked ya’ll haven’t fixed this or done any updating. I suppose I’ll be contacting Mattress Firm about this. Good day.

### 3/5 — Need some improvements!!

*2019-09-29, version 1.2.1*

Since I updated to iOS 13 my bluetooth connection keeps dropping and I am right in bed. Y’all need to do a update for iOS 13

### 2/5 — Right idea, poor execution

*2018-11-28, version 1.2.1*

The app has the right features and controls but it doesn’t automatically connect via Bluetooth. Each night I want to use it I have to manually select it in Bluetooth settings to connect. THEN open and close the LP app and once I reopen it then the controls work. Too much hassle to be useful

### 3/5 — It’s okay

*2018-11-28, version 1.2.1*

App almost works well but the timer feature doesn’t work. It’s a bit upsetting that you pay all this money for this base and get a 2 bit app that doesn’t work properly.

### 3/5 — Not too bad

*2018-08-19, version 1.2.1*

Could you please tell us the current setting in the app. When I set the alarm I’d like to know what is currently set. My gf and I both have the app on our phones and and don’t want contradicting settings. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Prety Good but thinking I made a mistake with L & P

*2018-08-01, version 1.2.1*

I was really looking forward to the timer function working. It does not work at all, not does the timer; reading other reviews, I can see it is a common problem. I made my purchase from Mattress Firm. Thinking of returning it for a sleep number bed. If anyone knows if this is a feature coming soon, please let me know, and I will wait but otherwise disappointed.

### 3/5 — One touch

*2018-07-02, version 1.2.1*

Just bought the LP 700 yesterday and was disappointed that the timer didn’t work. I watched a YouTube video for the SP 2 and got it to work by simultaneously holding down the lower head and foot massage buttons on the remote. I agree with most of the other changes needed ...3 presets, position changes with the alarm. Perhaps L and P is withholding these features in order to charge more for a later model that will have those features. I hope not.

### 3/5 — Good App

*2018-04-14, version 1.2.1*

Good app but the timer doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Zero Gravity Button Please

*2018-04-05, version 1.2.1*

Would LOVE zero gravity option, would save a ton of time :)

### 3/5 — Auto memory/auto down

*2018-03-20, version 1.2.1*

I second what gracer1023 wrote!!

### 2/5 — Not completely functional and app needs an update based on user feedback

*2018-02-19, version 1.0.1*

I bought this bed specifically for the app on my iPhone 7 (iOS 11.2.5) and am disappointed. Sure it controls everything the remote does but there are some serious missed opportunities here.

First, the sleep timer does not work and appears to crash the app after you make your selections and hit start timer (exits the timer screen and nothing happens). Basic functionality that needs to be fixed.

Second, the alarm function should have a schedule so it can run everyday, or 5 days a week, etc. Also, alarm should allow a memory setting to raise the bed to awaken you (I believe other L&P bed apps have this feature)

Third, the Flat and memory buttons should adjust to their positions and not have to be held down the whole time it moves to its final position.

Fourth, I agree with another review that there should be a separate button specifically for zero G position.

Fifth, I also agree with another review that the massage and adjustable buttons have the same name and should be differentiated some how.

Sixth, when pairing the bases the split king (dual twin xl) device names were the same on the Bluetooth discovery screen, got lucky on my first guess as to which one I was connecting to.

Last, one more memory setting wouldn't hurt, two seems a little conservative when the user leaves M1 on zero G from the factory setting.

Seems like it's been a while since this app was updated, hope to see these fixes very soon....

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Only 1 Device

*2023-10-08*

Why can this bed frame only connect to one phone?

### 1/5 — Completely incompetent

*2021-05-26, version 1.2.2*

Drops the BT constantly. Open and close the app multiple time for a connection. It is worth exactly what it costs. Nothing.

### 1/5 — Alarm with massage

*2018-11-14, version 1.2.1*

Wish it have an alarm with massage.

### 1/5 — Timer!?!?

*2018-10-13, version 1.2.1*

The bed is great. However their app is terrible. The timer does not work at all (like many have been saying for a long time). What is disappointing is that I have read so many reviews that address the timer over many months. And still no update.

### 1/5 — Bad app

*2018-08-11, version 1.2.1*

Timer feature doesn’t work app needs a serious update

### 1/5 — Timer

*2018-07-20, version 1.2.1*

A much needed feature for me...And it doesn’t work, nor has it ever! Can’t this be fixed Mr app developer?

### 1/5 — I recommend NOT downloading this App

*2018-06-23, version 1.2.1*

Waste of time works on one device only

### 2/5 — Timer doesn’t work

*2023-04-06*

Unfortunately the timer function doesn’t work so the app is pretty much useless.

### 2/5 — Leggett and Platt Ultra Series app

*2020-02-01, version 1.2.1*

If you are buying this bed thinking you are going to have a great app to go with it- you will be sorely disappointed!!!! The app only halfa$$ works. It’s old, clunky, and super basic. As much money as you are spending on a Bluetooth enabled bed you should have a first rate app to go with it. This is NOT that!!! Leggett and Platt need to step up their game!

### 2/5 — Basic app Needs a lot of work

*2019-03-15, version 1.2.1*

I have had my base and this app for a couple of months and the connectivity (via Bluetooth) is spotty. I need to connect it every day and give a few seconds for the app to actually control the bed. Then, be careful NOT to go to settings and get the passcode menus because you get the app to get stuck in something without help to continue and without cancel option. The only solution is to delete the app and download it again.
Memory buttons... I haven’t found the way to set any of those.
Finally, the timer for the bed position doesn’t work. I’m surprised the alarm does work.
So... it’s basic and shows a lot of functions that only give you headaches instead of functionality.
We paid a lot of money for the base and it would be nice to have an app that reflects the benefits of owning it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app, please add Siri shortcuts

*2019-01-07, version 1.2.1*

This app works great, but it would be fantastic as part of a “go to bed” shortcut, to have the app open and M1 automatically pressed.

### 5/5 — Manual At Legged & Platt

*2018-08-26, version 1.2.1*

Make sure you read the manual for both the bed base & the app at Leggett & Platt online. You can switch to one touch by holding both - massage buttons on the remote until the bed lights flash. You can also program more than one device by unplugging the bed and plugging it back in to get it into setup mode.

### 5/5 — Read the manual

*2018-08-12, version 1.2.1*

For everyone whining about having to hold the presets down, read the f-ing manual, you can switch to one touch mode. And stop whining so much

### 5/5 — Big improvement

*2018-06-07, version 1.2.1*

This version works perfectly with my L&P Prodigy 2 adjustable bed, something not publicized but I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. Much better interface than the old version.

### 5/5 — Great

*2018-01-21, version 1.0.1*

Great app works just like the controller. However. L &P. Would you please develop a double tap Or Similar input option for automatic for flat and the memory buttons please. It would be nice To double tap flat and have the bed go flat or double tap a memory and have it return to that memory position without having to Hold down the buttons. Please
And thank you:)

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2017-02-14, version 1.0.1*

Works perfectly for the L&P 700 adjustable foundation. Just unplug your foundation and then plug it back in (you have a 2 minute pairing window); pull this app up and it works seamlessly.

Only changes that could make this app better would be identifying which settings are for massage or raising/lowering.

### 4/5 — Excellent idea, needs a bit more...

*2018-04-19, version 1.2.1*

We love our 700 Ultra Series Leggett & Platt twin xl (king) adjustable bases!! They are so helpful for good sleep and better waking, with many years, surgeries and construction past behind us, this is truly a God send; this base control/remote app was a HUGE selling point for the added features and better use of our new bed/adjustable base set; One of the very most important features for us was the timer feature, and it doesn’t work :(
We’ve tried everything and looked for tutorials - going to call Leggett & Platt in the morning and see if anyone can tell us anything??? It just won’t work...Please address this timer issue with the app and/or repair it - so important. Thank you kindly.
A Zero gravity button, and, option of weekdays for alarm would be great also.
This phone app idea is so great!

Okay, so after talking to customer service today, the sleep timer is apparently only for returning the bed to a previously chosen position; I guess we misunderstood, thinking it’s a sleep timer that would allow for longer periods of time for massage-vibration to turn off on its own with the timer that we set through the app. Dang :(

### 4/5 — Bluetooth much better

*2018-03-22, version 1.2.1*

Latest updates fixed Bluetooth connectivity, thank you. Still would like a zero gravity button and 1 touch to go to programmed settings

### 4/5 — It ok app

*2018-01-11, version 1.0.1*

App in general is ok works good except for the timer app and alarm app crashes each time.

### 4/5 — Good first app for a new generation of beds

*2017-05-23, version 1.0.1*

UPDATE: (After another week of use).

#2. This bears repeating: This App needs to display and log the numeric angle of adjustment for each position. When learning, injured bed owners need to be able log, repeat the adjustments or vary them more precisely, as needed.

#1. I don't know what BT version L&P used for their bed but I have a suspicion it could be BT2x, and not v4. The iPhone loses the connection to the bed every time I leave the house and can't reconnect without quitting the App, re-selecting the bed mechanism in Bluetooth Settings and then re-launching the App. Why do hardware manufacturers keep trying to save a few dollars by shipping an obsolete Bluetooth version with an expensive product? Every medical device I have that uses BT2x has difficulty maintaining connectivity with newer iPhones or can't reconnect with devices after software updates. Those third-party devices that instead use BT4 — no problems. Maddening. Other thoughts added below...

HARDWARE
I had to got an adjustable bed for my bad back (lumbar and sciatica pain). This review is based on a first two weeks with the product. The Leggett & Platt models seem like great hardware. Heavy-duty electric motors. Bluetooth. Two nicely finished old-school, button-festooned remotes. Another model has a capacitive touchscreen remote. AND, Apps for Apple and "one other" phone software brand are available as an alternative to the remotes. Wow. The underside of the beds house a flat-black, wired set of gear and electronic boxes, motors and lift-arms that are impressively and cleanly arrayed — and quiet in operation. On some models, a set of LED under-bed lights are a nice touch. Each bed even comes with extension cords with multiple outlets. However the LED lights are too bright and need a dimming function — and maybe, a diffusing filter too. Instead of a soft glow under the bed, they produce sharp, unsightly shadows.

IPHONE REMTE SOFTWARE
My L&P is a Series 700 Adjustable Bed (Split Cal King with two bases, two remotes) sold through Mattress Firm, and it is compatible with this L&P App with no name (white buttons over a black background). The App sports a pretty basic interface with full functionality over bed controls, easy Bluetooth pairing and solid reliability.👍🏼

The App interface is simple and large enough that it will be usable without eyeglasses in the dark, at least for some people. It needs a couple of refinements though.

First, each L&P software App in the store needs a name and branding that is more cohesive and more easily identifiable. The L&P Apps need to be better matched here in the App Store with each bed model so the correct App is easier to find. First, it can be a challenge to even figure out your bed model (different model names assigned to different stores — an old mattress-industry trick to inhibit comparison shopping). Our bed wasn't even delivered with a paper manual, no Bluetooth instructions, not even a receipt listing the model number — we had to call both the Mattress Firm) store and L&P to figure out all this).

REMOTE BUTTON LAYOUT
At the top of the display, three buttons control Snore, Light, Wave (a massage function). The Wave button should be relocated down with the massage controls, and the Flat button (currently organized with the massage controls) should be moved to the top row (opposite the Snore button). Snore & Flat both are position functions and should be together at the top, flanking the Light button (under-bed lighting). Why it is arranged this way is inexplicable.

Two separate rows of buttons control separate Up-Down and Massage movements. Another row of smaller buttons control two Memory functions and a Set button.

The Up-Down movements have separate controls for Head, Foot and (on some models) Pillow (a head tilt).

Using these beds with a back injury initially requires experimentation and learning. During the first few weeks, I needed to try different settings to get comfortable. This App really needs to show and allow the selection of precise bed, platform angles (in degrees). When you're experimenting with adjustments and suddenly encounter an excruciatingly painful pinched nerve, you ideally need to be able to note and recall (at least temporarily and in your head) the angle-setting at which you encountered the pain. The Set and Memory buttons are useful only once you find the most comfortable setting, but the App should provide more help by displaying an active-angle readout. With this data, the App also could track the settings used over time as well, which could be of help to someone progressing through physical therapy and healing.

Across the bottom, three Settings buttons with icons anchor the controls: Alarm, Settings (Bluetooth & Security Passcode). These all are pretty rudimentary, and I hope they improve. One addition: the manual should be built into the App, and it should have a user-editable Notes section, all accessible from this bottom row of icons. I'd like to see the App display a log of nightly sleep sessions and bed angles too — with a Notes column. Again, it would help patients diagnose their pain and identify the settings that work best.

REMOTES VS. APP
After the installers left, we discovered they only programmed one of the two remotes. With no manuals, we called the store and were walked through some remote info, and also advised on which App to download (again, no guidance online here — in the App Store). We also were told how to pair the bed with an iPhone 7 (easy and seamless but you have to "shut down and reboot the bed" to put the BT into pairing mode). No kidding.

We also were told you only can pair the bed with either the phone or a remote but not both at the same time. Really? We need to look that up in the manual (which finally did arrive via email, but I haven't seen it yet). That seems ridiculous.

Overall, this App appears to be a workable solution for a good, adjustable bed product. Recommended, with hope the App will be refined.
