This app seems to remain under “maintenance” for months. If it takes more than a month to release a single claim, then what is even the point of having an option to select “illness” as the reason? People apply for claims when they actually need the money, not to wait endlessly for months. Instead of focusing only on advertisements, the government should also focus on fixing the system and processing claims on time. Please improve the app, reduce unnecessary maintenance periods, and most importantly, process claims within a reasonable timeframe. A government service should actually provide a service when people need it. ### 1/5 — Disappointment *2026-07-30* Extremely disappointing experience. I have been trying to activate my UAN through the UMANG app, but it repeatedly shows Temporary Service Unavailable! This has made it impossible to complete the activation process. The app is unreliable, and essential services are frequently unavailable when users need them the most. There is no clear timeline for when the issue will be resolved, which causes unnecessary delays and frustration. Since UAN activation is an important process for employees, the service should be stable and accessible. I have no hopes that technical issues will be resolved anytime and the app's reliability and user experience will be improved ! ### 1/5 — UAN activation not happening *2026-07-27* This app has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. I’ve been trying to activate my UAN for the past 6 months, and it still doesn’t work despite entering all my details correctly every single time. The app either throws errors or simply fails to complete the activation process. What’s even more disappointing is that there seems to be no proper resolution. Imagine someone who urgently needs to withdraw money from their PF during a medical emergency or financial crisis. If they can’t even activate their UAN because of technical issues, they are left completely helpless. The activation process should be simple and reliable, but instead it has become a never-ending struggle. An app handling something as important as EPF services should be dependable, yet this one fails at the most basic functionality. Please fix these issues urgently. Users can access services related to Aadhaar, PAN, EPFO, DigiLocker, gas booking, utility bill payments, passport services, healthcare, education, any many more things in! ### 1/5 — Fake features and fake profiles *2026-05-04* I have recently started using my phone for the same purpose but it’s been very difficult and frustrating and the only way that I’ve found out about this new technology to help with this problem was by doing the following exercises that were very helpful to my anxiety attacks that were really hard and very difficult for my brain and the ones where the problem came to my mind is when you do this you don’t want me and then when you’re trying not being able enough for the other people so that makes you feel better I just don’t know what you mean to me and it’s hard and I’m just really trying and I’m just not really trying but I’m just kind and honest to myself and it’s hard for you to understand how much of that makes it difficult ### 1/5 — Beg for your own money *2026-02-14* I have been trying to withdraw money from my epfo account from last 2 months but it is showing that I don’t have permission to use this service. After sometime somehow it started and sent me OTP I entered it and at last step it thrown an error saying there is a technical issue at their site. To get support for this I tried to contact them on their support number but it is not working. Email I sent through umang app but the in my sent email folder I couldn’t find that I sent them. Chat support keeps rotating and comes back to homepage. It is giving me a feeling that I am begging for my own money. Worst government and worst service through their worst app.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 ### 1/5 — UMANG: One App to Collect Every Broken Govt App *2025-11-20* This app is exhausting. UMANG is basically a bundle of the worst govt app experiences, and EPFO inside it is the worst of the lot. EPFO keeps sending you in circles. It asks for bank account verification even when the bank account is already verified and visible in the profile. EPFO Grievance registration asks for UAN even though I’m already logged in and the app is obviously pulling my passbook/details from that same UAN. Then when I enter the UAN, it says “OTP limit reached, try again in 24 hours”… but there is no OTP field anywhere and no OTP is even sent. So I’m locked out by an OTP that doesn’t exist. Brilliant. At this point it honestly feels less like bugs and more like deliberate roadblocks so people give up on withdrawals or complaints. Even UMANG’s feedback box is broken — it doesn’t accept spaces. Almost feels intentional so they can discard complaints as unreadable. Please fix the basics: stop redundant verification loops, make grievance flow logical, and don’t block users with phantom OTP and verification errors. ### 1/5 — UAN activation *2025-10-01* I have been desperately trying to activate my UAN for the past few days, and all I keep getting is the same useless “unexpected error occurred” message over and over again. This is beyond pathetic. For a platform that people depend on for such an important service, this level of incompetence is shocking. I am in the middle of a financial emergency and need to withdraw money from my PF account — but thanks to this broken system, I am completely blocked and helpless. The experience has been beyond frustrating — it’s a complete waste of time and energy. If something as basic as UAN activation cannot be made to work reliably, it raises serious doubts about the efficiency and accountability of the entire system. Worst experience ever — shameful and unacceptable. ### 5/5 — At their convenience *2025-09-22* This app operates at their convenience & not as per customers need. Most of the time some thing or the other goes wrong with the app ( technical error or under maintenance most of the time ). They promote technology on their Twitter ( now know as X ). More than technology customers need human touch too, both are missing in their part. Neither their technology works nor their email support works ( because nobody wants to reply ). ### 1/5 — Bad experience for UAN allotment *2025-08-19* On 5th August 2025, there was a new rule which meant employer can no longer generate UAN number for employees and the employee must do it themselves. Thus, there was this service on UMANG “UAN allotment and activation”. This service has worked well for some but some of us are causing major issues because of this and losing our jobs. When I tried to use the service for the past 15 days, after entering the OTP, I got the error message “Unexpected error occurred”. Today I tried again and I reached Aadhar face verification stage. At this stage I got a new error “Duplicate or no transaction history found for OTP verificaiton”. I tried again at night and now I am facing the error at the same stage but the message is different. It has changed to “Error occurred while getting OTP verification details. Kindly retry !!”. If you cannot handle so many users at one point, atleast open an offline service for the people facing issues. The worst part about this is we cannot use our laptops to access this service or do it offline, UMANG is the only way which doesn’t work for me. I request the team to please work on this issue and put more effort into testing the application before pushing it to production since this is a very important service.
