Although I had satisfying experience while studying using app whether in terms of UI or it's actual purpose that is providing education but there is one major flaw I am currently facing is the back button in top left corner doesn't work properly of this app. I had to give multiple inputs to get back to previous screen on back button. Whatsoever is the bug please fix this. It's frustrating and hinders my education. ### 2/5 — Freezes Time to Time while taking lectures *2024-01-12* Recently, the app freezes everytime I try to watch lectures. The audio doesn’t stop but the video crashes and every thing goes out of sync. I have tried reinstalling the app and restarting my ipad, but the problem doesn’t seem to go away. ### 2/5 — Problems *2023-12-29* I live in the US and I wanted to download this app but it doesn’t prompt me after trying to create an account. It’s in the App Store so I assumed it would work please fix the bugs in this so others can play ### 3/5 — Screen lock while watching video *2023-10-26* I have only one issue with the app. When am watching a video on the app, the screen doesn’t remain open it locks after 30 seconds. Although i have put a screen lock after 30 seconds, this should not activate when am in the app. Every 30 seconds i have to tap on my screen to make sure the screen remains open. To get around it i put my screen to never lock automatically, but this creates an issue as it drains out the battery when am not using the phone and forget to lock the screen manually. ### 1/5 — Anti Education app *2023-08-19* Cowardly organization fired a teacher for advising students to vote for an educated teacher. Mr. Sangwan, who was associated with Unacademy since 2001, was sacked by Unacademy for this particular appeal. The founder, Mr. Roman Saini, issued a statement on Twitter that Mr. Sangwan violated the code of conduct by being biased. How did Mr. Sangwan violate the code of conduct by appealing to the people to not vote for uneducated people? Shouldn’t the nation be represented by educated people? Irony is that Mr. Saini is himself educated and is indirectly supporting uneducated morons who sit in the parliament. Shame. When i see that i have purchased it wrong I raised a ticket by their app and according to their email they have to respond within 10-12 hrs but they don’t even respond after 4 days , i write an another email by forwarding the email containing the ticket information but also they do not take any action. Today I wasted more that 8 days and even today they are not responding. And i make mistake because of their automatic stream selection system, I purchased it last year by my stream but they are not showing my stream on my profile that is why I don’t notice and make payments to their default stream. This was my big mistake that I choose unacademy👎👎 ### 1/5 — Just a profit making edtech *2023-05-16* I feel cheated and robbed of my time. I have been a subscriber of unacademy frm past 2 years and this is how they have been treating the students. I took a course for CDS AFCAT CAPF and I just have two months remaining for my examination and my CAPF course is not accessible by me. I have been trying to contact Unacademy from past one week and there is no solution to my problem. I have written down dozen of mails still no reply I have called on customer Support still no reply. what kind of service is this??? don’t you think my time is important don’t you think my preparation is important ?? I only have 2 months left and each day is very important for me may be not for you all. I want to have the solution by tomorrow evening. Otherwise I will escalate this issue and take some legal action. ### 1/5 — Worst app *2023-04-20, version 2.1.6* Worst app. I wanted to take subscription for CAT but it gave me subscription for CSIR NET and then when i asked to change my goal, they didn’t and also told me to again take subscription for Cat to get refund. How is it even possible, am just a student , first of all you gave me wrong subscription and then not even refunding or changing the goal. This is just a fraud app who earns money by double subscription amount. They don’t even attend my calls. In help and aupport also they write that my issue has been resolved. Poor communication. There is no way to adjust video quality while attending live classes neither do the classes work at low video quality when internet speed is slow. It’s an absolute chaos to watch classes without high speed network. The iPad version also requires the playback scroller for live classes. What’s the use if I’m unable to use Unacademy to the best of my use!! I hope the technical requirements were looked in as quick as it is required :( ### 1/5 — iOS bugs , app keeps closing *2022-12-15, version 1.10.38* Such an inefficient app , even after being an iconic purchaser , they don’t revert back quickly. And not to mention the bugs that keeps popping up . First even after having internet connection of 100mbps+ , it kept showing no internet connection . And after this got fixed, another bug was ready. After every 2 - 3 minutes of watching classes, the app closes on its own and the Home Screen appears. It’s been 2 days since this is occurring . And they are not yet able to fix it . Why to bring updates , if you can’t handle even such basic things . Highly disappointed. ### 3/5 — One frustrating bug in the iOS app is making me want to kill myself *2022-12-10* I missed a few classes and I was watching them to cover my backlog before the new classes start BUT the app has this stupid bug which doesn’t let me watch the recorded classes properly. If i pause for a long time or I click on the pdf to see early on what’s written, the video starts from the first and the teacher’s video as well as the slides get frozen. It’s so infuriating to sit through the parts which I have already watched just because I wanted to see the pdf or paused it for some time. PLEASE FIX THAT. ### 1/5 — They are playing with the students future *2022-12-09, version 1.10.37* The on of the highly skill and qualified teacher of cds category in maths is sandeep brar sir and now they remove sir become they want to hire some cheap staff on behalf of them and the only reason why i renew my subscription is sandeep brar sir other wise there no such reason to use it and the sir is the only one how teach maths with so much interest and made easy ti understand it so its a humble request to students who wants to purchase the subscription please dont purchase it unless and untill you dont make sure that ur educator dont removed in between the course ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst app for any Edtech Platform *2026-04-16* I have asked and even emailed them about the issues that are happening across both their app and web but there has been no acknowledgement and if there is they make you make video of proofs and even if you send them those they say they cant see those. Just way of deterring any responsibility. Okay for this app, kindly update it for iOS26. While watching the video the screen locks automatically. Even basic video apps prevent screen from locking. Also the back button merges with the time on left side making it hard to press. Does not happen until the Control Centre has been opened. Guys you have charged a fees for online classes. Goddam fix your apps atleast. This is minimum of any Edtech Provider. ### 1/5 — Strong Lectures, Lacking in Follow-up and Career Alignment *2025-06-02* I recently subscribed to this learning platform in Post Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering and have gone through several of their online saved lectures. The content quality is quite good—well-structured and easy to follow. The flexibility of accessing saved lectures at any time is definitely a plus. However, I noticed a few areas that need improvement. Firstly, there's no active monitoring or follow-up if a learner misses lectures for a period of time, such as a week. Some level of engagement or reminders could help maintain consistency and motivation. Secondly, while the platform does offer interview opportunities, I found that the CTC (Cost to Company) for many of these opportunities was actually lower than my current compensation. ### 1/5 — Bakwas unreasonable spam calls everyday *2025-02-20* If you want peace,never register your number with unacademy..They will make your life hell..No matter whether you are studying or giving test,or in a meeting somewhere, you will get their calls continuously..No negative feelings for the educators as such but the management team is the worst..Nobody will listen your complaint after purchasing the subscription..You cant even change your dp more than 2 times..seems like they used all their expertise to check who are changing dp more than once but there is no security as all their content are freely spreading in telegram..Pathetic app,,Pathetic tech team,,pathetic help and support and in ipad it is the most lagging edtech platform i h’ve ever seen..even 1000 rs edtech platforms are giving butter like fluent live and recorded videos while unacademy is taking more than 50k for catagories like UPSC ### 1/5 — Worst experience *2025-02-12* Worst experience bcz you will get call 10-20times in a week to purchase this course that course, 10-20times calls you will get but when there is any issue and you want to call then you will find there is not any way to call with issue but will options to purchase (ye purchase karne k liye ye dabao wo badao) you have to go purchase section to call customer service but they say I’m applicable to do this and I’m transferring your call and you’ll get call 1-2he. Even 1-2days after you will not get call. Even now you will get call to purchase this that but not customer support call. That’s very rude and customer team also rude. If you want to purchase any course with Unacademy first check another app like Wallah app. If you want to bet and purchase Unacademy course they it’s all about your that is anything went wrong you’ll be ups and downs ### 1/5 — Poor Support from help centre *2024-07-27, version 2.2.6* From the you tube link i selected to purchase the subscription before installing the app in my phone, so by default the goal paid for CSE,CH ,ME . i wanted to switch to XE it was literally a change of class. I didnt expect this kind of experience from them. Poor management and lack of customer complaints handling strategies. IT ticket raised for the concern but no ticket reference number is shared. It was a single subject course of CA Foundation which says entire syllabus of Business law will be completed through recorded lectures but when I started watching the lectures I came to know that it had only half of the lectures and other half was missing. There is a thing in unacademy when you have to purchase a course there will be atleast 8-10 person with whom you can talk to but when it comes to solving issues after purchasing course they don’t have anyone to talk to you have to do emails which are useless because you don’t get reply even after 8-10 days. Since 8-10 days I am sending mails , calling them but no response from their side. Hundreds of daily Free special classes by India’s best educators (probably world’s best educators). This app has made studying interesting again in my life.
