But the new firmware update for the scooter blocking out the speed limiter was unexpected and quite a negative impact to the riding experience. I will change my rating to 5 as soon as it’s fixed 🙏🏿✅🙃 ### 1/5 — Horrible customer service *2024-09-28, version 1.06* Scooter delivered is dirty and ugly, delivery guy did not call to setup as promised during the purchase process, the app is unable to detect the scooter from last three days, AI CHATBOT is incapable to solve any problem, customer service only on weekdays. It’s a zero customer obsessed company. support videos are ineffective. The company released a firmware a couple weeks ago that reduced it to 15 mph. Weeks have gone by, but my scooter still won’t go its advertised speed. ### 1/5 — Never again! *2024-09-25, version 1.06* I was extremely happy to get this scooter, until they decided to have a update on the software. Now I can’t unlock the scooter. You could never speak to a live person. I want to return the scooter. They gave me 2 months free for a promotion they was running come to find out they wanna charge me $100 to return it. Smh ### 1/5 — SCAM! *2024-09-20, version 1.06* Wish I read these reviews before hand! Tried to cancel an they were going to charge me more than the $50! Thought it was a great deal as ive been struggle for reliable transportation to any job an not spend all my money on ubers! Going to charge me more just to cancel but finding out thru the app it’s no deal AT ALL! How am I getting two months free when you are charging me already in a week an it just came today! Why are you harming people in this economy instead of being of your word! Can not get ahold of any LIVE person an I have three kids trying my hardest to make ends meet my money can be going towards them or even a uber no matter if it costs more round trip! This is honestly sad, ridiculous, etc. Why lie to people when you know all of this is to only dup them out of their money. Unlike myself who does not have steady income it’s making me very sad the waste of money, time and energy this company puts in to scam us! Keep advertising an I will share this on reddit hopefully NO ONE spends their money with this company ever again! They can send the police an ill show them exactly what’s going on an what can be done they can take this scooter back an we have yet to ride it all! Lesson learned now back to square one an that’s fine im praying round the clock because as God said VENGEANCE IS HIS! 😔 ### 1/5 — Great Scooter, horrible service and app. *2024-08-17, version 1.05* I purchased a new Unagi Scooter, but after using it for a couple months it now has locked me out of using it, saying that it won’t verify through their app. What!!! I own the scooter! Unagi wasn’t smart enough into ‘unlock’ perpetual access for owners who bought vs. rented a scooter. And you cannot ever reach a human to help. ### 1/5 — Scooter is trash and they ready to scam your money *2024-07-28, version 1.05* They have the coolest skins scooter , speed is trash broke down in a few used that’s a 4 years scooter can’t even go above 19 miles per hour lol , and they ready to start sending you email that you a thieves if you missed one month payment they warned you like they about to send cops to your house or something, and i have been waiting for them to send the government so I can sue them for thieves us👎 ### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect *2024-07-26, version 1.05* How can they send me a scooter that doesn’t connect to the app. DONT GET THIS IT WONT CONNECT ### 1/5 — What they DON’T TELL YA *2024-06-23, version 1.05* I rented my scooter and what they don’t tell you is the app is only compatible with the voyager scooter😫 Thanks for your response. I'm happy to clarify. Looking at your account, it shows that you're currently renting an E500 Classic scooter. As it stands, this model scooter is not compatible with our app which is why you're not able to connect to your scooter. At this time, we are not sure if or when this model will be compatible with the app. However, our newer model, the Voyager is compatible with the app. Should there be any changes with this in the future, and your scooter becomes compatible wit the app, we will be sure to let you know. All the reviews are saying the same. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — unreliable app *2025-06-02, version 1.08* I had terrible experience using the app. It frequently looks itself and you have to log into the app to unlock it every time. Unfortunately the APP once had problem connecting to the scooter so I was locked out forever. I had to call my friend to pick me(and the locked scooter) up from middle of the nowhere and therefore missed an important meeting ### 1/5 — Scooter never came *2025-05-23, version 1.08* I ordered two weeks ago, my order is still “processing” I ordered accessories AFTER I ordered the scooter, they came. My scooter order has been ignored for 2 weeks, and I’m still stuck getting uber to and from work. ### 1/5 — Unagi *2025-04-25, version 1.08* Y’all must be lying about this being a good product because it won’t even connect at all. I think you’re a bunch of scammers. ### 1/5 — App not letting me login. *2025-01-06* App suddenly would not let me login to my account. Been in contact with customer support for a week and they have been repeatedly asking me for my phone number. I haven’t gotten anywhere with customer support so far. Never had any issues like this before but i pay monthly and this is my primary mode of transportation so i am not happy about the customer support right now. ### 1/5 — Bad experience *2024-11-01, version 1.07* So I just received my model one and I’ve got to say that the packaging is horrible, the box is all tapped up and rigged, it did not come with a user set up guide, when I started the scooter and attempted to pair it with my phone and the app, nothing happened and my phone Bluetooth is on and discoverable. The app simple will not connect the scooter at all. Absolutely worse experience. Not to mention it too. 2 weeks to get it shipped to me yet unagi will expect full payment this month. Like wow. ### 1/5 — Great Amazon Scam *2024-10-16, version 1.07* As previous buyers have stated this is a huge scam. There is no phone support if you have an issue. You have to email back-and-forth and all they will do is swap you out a scooter and require you to take the old one to FedEx. And don’t throw away the box or else you’re going to have to spend extra money there to get it back. Out of the three scooters I have had since the trial with Amazon only one worked for more than two weeks since then in the past four months I have spent maybe a week total riding, do not buy this item. Return it and cancel. ### 1/5 — Terrible customers service and false advertising *2024-10-11, version 1.07* Only bought the scooter because it claimed to go 20mph but that is a lie and false advertisement as it’s stuck at only 15mph, they claim it’s a software issue but they don’t seem to be doing anything at all to fix it. They seem lazy, they just want a quick money grab with getting as much Scooters out as possible. What’s worse is that customer support is almost non-existent—they don’t respond, and the help provided is ineffective. It’s frustrating, especially when I’ve invested in their product. I don’t recommend Unagi due to these consistent issues. ### 1/5 — Bad update *2024-10-03, version 1.07* Firmware update pushed out by the app eliminates the ability to set max top speed of 20mph. The only time they are super responsive is when the bill needs to be paid but anything else and you’ll be ignored! ### 1/5 — Speed Not As Advertised *2024-10-01, version 1.06* I got this scooter a few months back and I loved it, but just a few weeks ago, they released a software update that completely ruined my scooter and now it only goes 15mph instead of the advertised 20mph. Don’t waste your time on this scoooter. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Love it even tho they lag in the customer service dept. *2025-02-11, version 1.08* Use those scooter for travel everywhere. I’ve had a few issues in the past with scooters Ave they’ve replaced it with no issues. Idk how many unagi scooters is out there in the world but you can’t beat that. Allah I’ve saved so much money not having to pay for Ubers or Lyft’s everywhere. I often times want to do go faster than the 20mph but it can’t seem to find one with dual motors that has similar look or style. ### 5/5 — So great *2023-05-17, version 1.01* I’m loving my Unagi and this app is a pretty cool way to change settings and know what’s going on with it. I ride it a couple miles a day and im having a so much easier time getting around now that I don’t have to get an Uber or search around for a bike or scooter on the street! So easy to fold and bring in with me wherever I go… even when I get on a bus or train. ### 4/5 — Good scooter *2023-12-10* If a very stylish and has a luxury feel but my only issue is that is doesn’t support the first and second gen models of the unagi electric scooter found that out when I had emailed someone who works for the company they say that the app only supports its newest model scooter the voyager .. really if I new this I wouldn’t have purchased the first gen model the e350 .. now I am at wits end the company says hopefully in the future they will come out with a update that supports the older models for app compatibility but for now only their high quality model is compatible. ### 4/5 — App worked good *2023-07-22, version 1.02* Only problem I have with app is when I unlock the 20mph top speed and use the app I have to go thru the long process of unlocking the scooter 20mph top speed every time I use the app. And the Unagi Voyager initial acceleration is less aggressive than the E500. If you can update the Voyager initial acceleration to be faster that would be good. ### 3/5 — 3 Months Of Waiting *2024-12-13, version 1.07* I have been waiting 3 months for the firmware fix that will enable the speed unlock. The chat AI is decent and more complex than other AI agents. The scooter has given me no issues, it's light and powerful enough to climb steep hills. Delivery was also prompt. You can email Unagi and they will truly get back to you within 1-3 days. I've had no issues with customer service but with the team responsible for the firmware, this is not the fault of the customer service team. Speed unlock should not be a feature, the scooter should be operational to the speed advertised. It should not take 3 months to fix something that you're charging customers for. ### 3/5 — Love the scooter but…. *2024-09-10, version 1.06* They just came out with a new firmware update and now top speed is 15 instead of 20 as it was before. Very disappointing and I will be returning the scooter. ### 3/5 — Beta is right… *2024-06-08, version 1.05* Trip recording is a cool feature because you could conceivably track rides without the Fitness app which makes these rides an outdoor cycling workout. But even if Location services are granting full permission to the app as always allowed, it still doesn’t show the mapping where you went. So, this app does have a way to go for that feature to work right. For changing everything else….
