### 3/5 — Really good app!! But…

*2026-08-15*

I have had a hard time getting out of bed my entire life, and I’ve tried all sorts of things to try and make myself get up, with nothing lasting very long. Unbed is the first time I’ve had such success, because it’s really nonnegotiable. If you walk back to your room and lay back in bed after the unbed alarm, well— nothing is gonna work for you LOL. It makes you get up, and it won’t let your evil, sleepy self escape from the morning! Now I got this just a few weeks before the subscription and account aspects showed up, so I had a small amount of time to get used to the base app, and I will say that I think there are a few things that need tuning after that update. Is Morning Peace now locked behind a subscription to set it to an alarm? Because it doesn’t work anymore for me. I have to go and find it and activate it, which kind of defeats the purpose of blocking them right after waking up because I can allow myself to be tempted to just not turn it on. I’m glad none of the base features have been put behind a subscription, but it feels a bit like the base app needs a bit of tuning so that people who can’t afford a subscription are getting the exact same experience that people were before the subscription update. Also, I am a bit disturbed by one of the features in unbed plus— that it LISTENS IN without any extra device, listening to you sleep to somehow detect the best time to wake you up…? That feels wrong. How can we know the app doesn’t just have the capability to listen in whenever? How on earth can it detect the sleep cycle from the sound of the room it’s in without any extra devices? It’s just rather disturbing to me. This is such a helpful app and tool, I really hope it isn’t violating people’s privacy like that.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your review, and congrats on the streak of getting up! Two important clarifications.

Morning Peace is not behind the subscription. Nothing from the original app was paywalled. Alarm Lock, Deletion Protection, App Blocking, and Morning Peace are all free and will stay free. What you're noticing is a change in 3.0: Morning Peace now auto starts only when your alarm is dismissed within your bedtime schedule's wake up window. If you haven't set up a bedtime schedule in the Hard Mode tab, or your max wake up time is set too early, it won't kick in automatically anymore. Setting up a bedtime schedule with a max wake up time comfortably after your alarm will restore the old behavior.

On the microphone: your concern is fair, so here's exactly how it works. The mic is only active during a sleep session you explicitly start, and iOS enforces this. You'll see the orange microphone indicator whenever it's in use, and you can verify us anytime in Settings, Privacy, App Privacy Report. All analysis happens entirely on your iPhone and nothing is ever uploaded to our servers. It listens for movement, noise levels, and sound categories like snoring, coughing, or sleep talking to estimate sleep cycles, the same technique nightstand sleep apps have used for years, and it all stays on your device. If you never turn sleep tracking on, the app never requests mic access at all.

If you ever have any questions about any functionalities or are running into issues, shoot us an email at hello@unbedapp.com and we'll make sure everything is clear and works!

Thanks for holding us to a high standard. That's how the app gets better.

The Unbed Team :)

### 2/5 — battery killer

*2026-08-02*

this app drained 76% of my phone battery just by running in the background yesterday. seems the new update caused this, as it hasn’t happened any other day,
phone was charged to 50% before going to bed and it drained to 0% overnight, so no alarm.

This absolutely needs fixing or i’ll be returning.

**Developer response:** Hey Melissa, thanks for flagging this. The update definitely isn’t supposed to drain your battery like that, and 50 to 0 overnight isn’t normal behavior for Unbed at all. Something clearly went wrong on your device and we want to figure out what.

Please reach out to us at hello@unbedapp.com so we can look at exactly what happened and get you a proper fix. In the meantime, a quick thing you can try is enabling Battery Saver Mode inside the app’s settings, which reduces how much the app does in the background.

Sorry your alarm didn’t fire because of this. That’s the one thing Unbed exists to do, so we take it seriously. Hope to hear from you.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 3/5 — Works but don’t like the new changes

*2026-08-02*

This app and the block were working great, but I really resent the new update that requires me to create an account to keep using the product that I was already using. Seems like a data grab for no reason.

**Developer response:** Hey, we want to address the data grab worry head on because it’s the opposite of what’s happening. Your account data isn’t used for anything beyond validating that your block is genuine and linking Unbed+ orders for people who buy it. We don’t sell it, we don’t analyze it for advertising, and we don’t extract anything from it. There’s honestly nothing to grab. Your alarms and settings still live on your phone.

So why add accounts at all? Three reasons. Counterfeit blocks were letting people use the app without ever buying an Unbed, which hurt us directly as a small company. A lot of people share their block with a partner or friend, and accounts are what make sharing a block and a subscription actually work. And down the road we want to offer cloud backup so your data can follow you to a new phone. That backup will be completely optional. If you never want your data leaving your device, it never will.

We should have explained all of this before the update instead of after, and that’s fair criticism we accept. Everything you paid for stays free forever, nothing changes there.

If you have any questions at all, we’re at hello@unbedapp.com.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 2/5 — Beautiful Simplicity compromised by Subscription

*2026-08-02, version V3.0*

I can’t tell you how great this app was, and it changed everything for me in my wake-up routine. Then, this morning, my alarm didn’t go off. Only to find I now need an account to login and to pay a yearly fee for all sorts new features. Argh. So annoying. I bought my block because of the simplicity. I already paid for a block. If you want another thing to subscribe to, this is for you. But if you’re like me and desire simplicity, prepare to be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Best alarm I’ve ever used

*2026-06-17*

As a shift worker and someone who used to set 10 alarms at 5 minute increments every morning and used to sleep through turning off half of them I have only had to set this one alarm and woken up straight away for the last 7 days and haven’t gone back to sleep once!

**Developer response:** Hey Tayla, thank you so much for this review! 7 days straight as a shift worker, that's amazing to hear. We really appreciate your support! ❤

### 2/5 — Battery Issues

*2026-06-17, version V2.4*

Does what it claims to, but it’s a massive battery drain. I’m on the latest iOS.

### 5/5 — Works like a charm

*2026-06-15, version V2.4*

As a chronic snoozer, I have been delightfully surprised by the power of Unbed! I have been up at 5am with more time to read, exercise, and eat a solid breakfast. All things I wasn’t able to do by snoozing

### 3/5 — Non response

*2026-06-09*

I have tried contacting support several times to request new codes and have had no response. I also tried to contact and inform about a bug. I find this poor. Other than this I would have given 5

### 3/5 — Beware of Alarm Deletion

*2026-06-09, version V2.4*

The app works well to get me out of bed. However, twice without warning within the past 9 months, the app deleted all of my alarms in the middle of the workweek. How can I rely on an alarm system that randomly deletes my alarms?

### 5/5 — Changed my life!

*2026-06-05, version 2.3*

I was the person that everybody knew was not getting out of bed until 20 minutes before she had to leave. With Unbed I could you not I’ve gotten it down to 6:30 AM every morning from 11 to sometimes 12 AM if I was off. Game changer! life changer! Works exactly as advertised. Customer service is awesome as well!

### 5/5 — Can’t thank this product enough

*2026-06-04*

I was able to watch the most beautiful sunrise ever at 4 am because of this product. If you want to live your life to the fullest, you need this.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you so much for this review! Watching a sunrise at 4am is truly something special. Really appreciate your support! ❤

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect

*2026-06-04*

I have had a sleep disorder for about 10 years now where I have trouble waking up. I have tried SO many alarms and I think this is a winner. The only downside is there are a couple of workarounds. For one, you can just shut down the phone. I wish there was a way to enable a password or something to stop a hard shut off, but Apple does not have that anymore. The second is uninstalling the app. Now I have found a way around this. My lovely sister set a screen time password that doesn’t let me uninstall the app; however, I can’t uninstall any apps now, but that is a minor issue. Overall, I love it. I rave about it and I have been able to get up and do a 2-3 mile walk on most days, but on the hard days, I simply just shut down my phone. On a second note. I would love the ability to customize more. Change colors. More sounds. The ability to play sleep sounds on a timer. Minor things but I still like this app!

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you so much for this review! Getting up for a 2-3 mile walk most days after 10 years of struggling is incredible to hear. Really glad Unbed has been helping.

On the hard shutdown bypass, you're right that it's a device level limitation we can't fully prevent. The Screen Time password workaround your sister set up is actually a really clever solution!

We've also noted your feedback on customization, more sounds, colors and sleep timers are great suggestions and we'll pass them along to the team.

Really appreciate your support and the kind words! ❤

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Account required

*2026-08-05*

Made it required to have an account for a product that was already paid for when previously it wasn’t required

**Developer response:** Hey, fair point, and we should have communicated this change much better before it went live. That's on us.

To be clear on what the account is and isn't: it doesn't cost anything, and nothing you paid for is affected. Every feature your block came with stays fully free, forever. The account exists for three reasons only. Counterfeit blocks were letting people use the app without ever buying an Unbed, which hurt us as a small company. Two people can now share a block and an Unbed+ subscription together. And it lays the groundwork for optional cloud backup down the road, so your settings can move to a new phone if you ever want that.

We don't sell your data or use it for anything beyond validating your block and linking orders. If anything's giving you trouble with the switch, write us at hello@unbedapp.com and we'll help.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 1/5 — Terrible Update

*2026-08-03*

Latest update is making me confirm my block. Funnily enough I’m opening the app because I’m in bed checking it’s on for tomorrow. Used regular alarm but whatever. Since came down to sort the next day and it’s business as usual. Go to sleep again and I have to confirm. Now I go to confirm and it’s back to normal. Wasting my time and not sure it will even work tomorrow. Now has a bunch of pay gated features, after paying £25 for a 3d printed nfc tag and alarm app. Greed beyond measure ruined what was a decent product. Would return if I could.

**Developer response:** Hey, what you're seeing isn't the app breaking, but we clearly didn't explain it. Verifying your block is a one time thing, and the app lets you postpone it a few times so you're never stuck at bedtime. That's why it sometimes asks and sometimes waves you through. Once you scan your block a single time, it never asks again. And your alarm will still fire either way, we made sure verification never blocks a scheduled alarm.

On the pay gated features: nothing you paid for moved behind a paywall. Everything your block did before is still free and always will be. Unbed+ is a separate optional tier with new extras, and you'll only ever see it mentioned if you tap to learn about one of its features.

We'll be transparent about why it exists. We're a small company, and a one time block purchase funds that block, but not the years of updates, servers and support that come after it. Unbed+ is what lets us keep the company alive and keep building this app for the long run. Without something sustainable behind it, Unbed eventually stops improving, and that's the opposite of what we want. To be clear though, the free app is not taking a back seat. We'll keep adding new core features that stay free, non Unbed+ users get 100% of our attention, and our mission is to keep growing Unbed for everyone. Unbed+ is just how we make sure we're still here to do it.

As for accounts, they exist to stop counterfeit blocks, to let two people share a block and an Unbed+ subscription together, and to prepare optional cloud backup for later. That's the whole story.

We're sorry the rollout wasted your time. If anything still feels off, you can directly get in contact with us at hello@unbedapp.com.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-08-03*

Since the update my account has been whipped and can’t log back in with my email or phone number

**Developer response:** Hey Andrew, we’re sorry to hear that you ran into issues with your account. Please contact us at hello@unbedapp.com in order to find out what happened.

We’re sorry about this inconvenience and want to sort this out for you as quickly as possible.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 1/5 — AWFUL

*2026-08-03, version V3.0*

Warning: All positive reviews are paid for

### 1/5 — Changed the product

*2026-08-03*

Bought the product and have been using it but they’ve changed the app months later to now require a personal account. I don’t want or see the need to hand over my data for an alarm app.

**Developer response:** Hey, we understand the hesitation, but there’s genuinely very little data involved. Creating an account doesn’t hand us anything meaningful. We use it to validate that your block is genuine and to link Unbed+ orders for those who buy it, and that’s it. We don’t sell anything, we don’t run ads, and your alarms and settings stay on your phone. There’s no data business hiding behind an alarm app here.

The reasons we added accounts are practical. Counterfeit blocks were letting people use the app without ever buying an Unbed, which hurt us directly as a small company. Many people share their block with a partner, and accounts make that work properly. And eventually we want to offer cloud backup so your settings can follow you to a new phone, which will be entirely optional if you ever want it.

Changing the requirements months after your purchase without explaining any of this clearly was our mistake, and we’re sorry for the frustration. If you have questions, we’re at hello@unbedapp.com.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 1/5 — Bad

*2026-08-02*

Hidden charges everywhere.

**Developer response:** Hey, we want to clear this up because there are no hidden charges anywhere in Unbed. Everything you paid for when you bought your block stays completely free, forever. No fees appeared, and none will.

What did change recently is that we added Unbed+, an optional tier with some extra features, and accounts. Unbed+ costs money only if you choose to get it, and the only time you’ll ever see it mentioned is if you tap to learn more about one of its features. Accounts exist to stop counterfeit blocks, to let people share a block with a partner, and to prepare for optional cloud backup in the future. Nothing about them costs anything.

We clearly did a poor job explaining these changes before rolling them out, and we’re sorry for the confusion that caused. If something in the app looked like a charge to you, we’d genuinely like to know what it was. Write us at hello@unbedapp.com.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 1/5 — Forced sign up after this long?

*2026-08-02, version V3.0*

I’m not too happy you all are forcing an account sign up to use an alarm clock application. Especially after I’ve had this for I don’t even know how long without one.

### 1/5 — The longer I have used Unbed, the more frustrating it has become

*2026-07-09*

I regret spending $40 on the Unbed block. The app is almost completely unusable and very frustrating to navigate. I wish this “just worked”. App refuses to open on the first try almost every time. Alarms don’t always ring. No screen comes up when the alarm does ring, so you have to manually open the app to scan the block and shut it off. Trouble saving and setting alarms reliably - the save button just does not work at all most of the time, and I have to close and reopen the app several times, every time. There is some “software gore” going on and pressing a button sometimes presses other buttons. When it works, it works, except for when I go straight back to bed. Or lay on my phone to dampen the sound. Lol. Set backup alarms. Or better yet, find a solution that is not this disappointing app. I am curious about “Lasso alarm”.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for the honest feedback. We're really sorry to hear about the experience you've had, this is not the standard we hold ourselves to and we take every one of these points seriously. We have been actively working on reliability improvements and a redesigned interface, and a lot of what you've described is being addressed in our upcoming updates. We would love the chance to make this right for you. Please reach out to us at hello@unbedapp.com or DM us on Instagram @unbedapp and our team will personally help get things working properly for you. Your feedback genuinely helps us improve and we hope to earn back your trust. ❤

### 1/5 — Low quality materials

*2026-05-22, version 2.3*

I like the idea of unbed! But the NFC tag they sent has only scanned once in the many times I’ve tried. They told me to take off the case and scan near my phone’s camera. Didn’t help! Now I can’t turn off my alarms. Also who wants to take off their phone case to turn off their alarm each morning?

### 1/5 — Used to love it

*2026-04-10, version 2.3*

I used to love this app, it was practically impossible to stop it without scanning the block. But now you can swipe up and close the app and it turns off the alarm - defeating the entire purpose and intent. Please change it back!

### 5/5 — Saved My Job

*2026-08-18*

Unbed has been a game changer. I have had problems with oversleeping for so long. I got fired from a job for missing opening shifts. I was put on a performance improvement plan with my current job. I’ve missed doctor’s appointments, family commitments, etc. because of oversleeping. I tried bed shakers, the ShockClock, various alarms that promised to get me out of bed. UnBed has been the first thing to work. All the others I found ways to shut off or work around, or I’d simply fall back asleep in my morning zombie state. Unbed doesn’t play. I bought it back in January when the app was still fairly simple and I did have some trouble at that point with being able to work around loose protections. Yall, this is a small company. It takes time to grow and learn and work out the bugs. As they’ve added to the app it’s pretty watertight. It’s integrated into screen time so you can’t delete it, there are settings that stop you from changing the alarm after bedtime, you can block apps, plus a million other awesome features. I set it to where I have to take a picture of the sky to shut the alarm off so I have to physically walk outside or at least open a window. And there’s plenty of other challenges. Overall just an incredible app. I get out of bed on time. I’m off my improvement plan at work. I don’t doom scroll until 2am. It’s been awesome.

Thanks for saving my job y’all!

### 5/5 — Hard Mode Is the Best

*2026-08-07*

I’ve had this app for months. I found a loophole in the morning where you could delete the app, and the alarm would stop. Ever since they’ve added the hard mode update, you literally cannot stop the alarm or delete the app until you scan your block. These developers are on point. They even added the option to add your own alarm, which means they’re listening to their consumers. To the developers, please add the option to get rid of the emergency shut offs. I’m a shift worker so this thing is a life saver. If you’re like me, and don’t trust yourself, get this. The Unbed block is a game changer.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this review! Really glad Hard Mode closed that loophole for you 😄 And great news, there's actually already an option to disable Emergency Stops in Settings! Really appreciate the kind words and your support! ❤

### 5/5 — Easy breezy set up and immediate results

*2026-08-05*

This was so easy to set up. Nice UX and simple and straightforward. This has without a doubt changed my morning routine

**Developer response:** This made our day. Changing morning routines is exactly what we built Unbed for, so hearing it's working for you means a lot. Thanks for taking the time to share it, and if you ever need anything, we're at hello@unbedapp.com.

Thanks,
The Unbed Team :)

### 5/5 — Excellent customer support!

*2026-07-23*

Grateful for the lovely people I was able to speak to via email, made the whole process easy!

**Developer response:** Hey, thank you so much for your review it really means a lot to us!

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2026-07-21*

This is the only thing that gets me out of bed and honestly it isn’t as horrible as some other alarms. If u put it on the gentle wake up setting it’s so chill but it forces u to get out of bed still

**Developer response:** Hi Martina, thank you so much for this review! Really appreciate your support! ❤

### 5/5 — A lifetime of struggling with mornings is gone!

*2026-07-18, version V2.4*

I’m generally a pretty disciplined person, but mornings have always been so hard for me. I could never seem to get out of bed without hitting snooze 5+ times. I’ve struggled with this my entire life and I genuinely feel like this product has solved that problem for me!! I have gotten out of bed right away AND stayed up every day since the product came in. Not only that, but I’ve been waking up so much earlier too! 10/10 recommend!

### 5/5 — LIFE CHANGING!

*2026-07-17, version V2.4*

I’ve always been a professional snoozer… until Unbed. 😂

I’ve tried everything, and this is the first alarm that’s actually worked for me. I love that it’s simple—no math problems or complicated puzzles when you’re half asleep (because who has the brainpower for that first thing in the morning?).

We keep our Unbed tag by the coffee maker, which is set to auto-brew every morning. So when my alarm goes off, I have to get up, walk to the coffee, and scan it. By then, I’m already up and ready to start my day.

The temporary silence feature is also brilliant. I can mute it just long enough to quietly leave my daughter’s room without waking her, but there’s no snooze button to tempt me back into bed.

If you’re a chronic snoozer like I was, this app is absolutely worth trying. It’s completely changed my mornings.

### 5/5 — You Love It, You Hate It!

*2026-07-16*

I chronically have had a hard time waking up in the morning. I always had 6 alarms set that I would snooze, turn off or sleep through. Unbed has changed that for me. I have been getting up on time and getting to worn 15 minutes early. So glad I purchased this alarm.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you so much for this review! Going from 6 alarms to getting to work 15 minutes early is incredible. Really appreciate your support! ❤

### 5/5 — Fixed the morning snooze

*2026-07-15*

I have struggle for so long to get out of bed in the morning. Unbed has helped me massively. Waking up early and starting my day right. I’m so much more motivated.

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you so much for this review! Starting the day right makes all the difference. Really appreciate your support! ❤

### 5/5 — No More Battery Issues!

*2026-07-11, version V2.4*

The developers sorted out the battery issues since my last review - 10/10 would recommend
