### 1/5 — iPad Pro

*2019-12-22*

Can’t open this one with an iPad Pro. It’s the second one that doesn’t work with iPad Pro. I have played others and want to play more of your games, but not all of them open.

### 3/5 — Entertaining

*2023-12-29*

Some of the puzzles made no sense-no explanation on how or what to do. But it was ok. Too short for the money paid. I. M. O.

### 3/5 — 🤔

*2019-09-05*

Wasn’t keen on this game, the voices were awful and found it quite boring.

### 3/5 — Good game

*2019-09-05*

The game is ok .It was longer than I thought but it’s worth playing if you like pirates. I just found out we will not be getting any new games from DominiGames for awhile because they say they are having problems. If anyone here’s anything else please print.

### 3/5 — Uncharted Tides: Port Royal by LynxMinx

To be honest, this HOAG from Cordelia Games had me a bit underwhelmed. I am not a fan of pirate/nautical adventures, and there were no extremely innovative elements to wow me. You do play from the perspectives of two protagonists, but we just played from the perspectives of three in our last Elephant Game, and will be doing so with two later this week when Domini releases Dark Romance: Hunchback. The gimmicks were both lock picks and a magical compass. Neither had anything amazing associated with it. The graphics were terrific. The storyline was certainly not unique or unusual. The HO scenes didn’t have much variety; I liked the one where you found and used objects to assist the physician. The puzzles/games were quite simplistic; however they were still enjoyable to play. Compared to other recent games, there were not enough tasks to accomplish at each location, although I did like the variety to be accomplished, especially creating elixirs and escaping the captors. This game was a decent length inclusive of the bonus adventure. The quality assurance was excellent, although at times I found it a bit difficult to use inventory items. I would say this game was slightly better than average; therefore my actual rating will be 3.5 stars. Please understand that I was also dealing with Hurricane Dorian for the past 11 days and living in the cone of uncertainty might have affected my experience playing this game. We were very lucky this time! Happy gaming to everyone!
UPDATE: EIPIX sold their company, and sadly there are so many HO games on Mac/PC that were never ported to iOS. Wouldn’t it be nice if a distributor wanted to buy those games from EIPIX and release them on the iOS/Android platforms? Well, that’s what I am working on! Hey, Artifex Mundi, are you interested?

### 3/5 — Could have been better

*2019-08-31*

The artwork and gameplay are good enough. But the script and acting are dreadful. And I had to turn the music off as irritating.

### 4/5 — Good game

*2021-07-16*

It was good not great. Really heavy on HOscenes which I don’t enjoy as much as the adventure, finding tools throughout the game. Some really unusual solutions. Found myself relying on the hint more than I like. Wish artifex mundi would give us some new games. Not sure what happened to them? I’ve always enjoyed their games

### 4/5 — Port Royal Is Worth Exploring!

Attention ye scallywags o' th' sea! Make cabin fer yer Cap'n! Ye mess wit' me, I'll skewer yer gizzards!

Brace yourself for a swaggerin' nautical adventure as you embark on a ship and set sail on the high seas in search of your missing father. Throughout your journey, you will undergo rigorous trials that test your endurance: engaging in deadly sword duels with nasty scallywags who are determined to sink your ship; traversing through wild, hazardous jungles; and breaking out of a confinement several times over.

This enthralling pirate-themed storyline is well told through the distinct perspectives of two main characters, presenting a refreshing feel. This switching between characters allows a player to experience interesting variations of dialogue, interactions with other characters, and reactions during dramatic moments of cliffhanger. The characters' personalities are fleshed out, and their attire is appropriate to the pirate theme. Crazy George, the "people-biting" macaw, adds a nice touch of humor.

The nautical theme is ubiquitously prevalent throughout the game, as many settings take place on or near water. I consistently felt like I was on a seafaring adventure that stayed on course. The artwork is lovely, showcasing keen attention to crisp details.

The developers under AM are known for casual adventure games, so I wasn't expecting over-the-top, challenging gameplay. The adventure portion of gameplay doesn't deliver any unexpected surprises or hints of novelty; it features standard inventory usage and the usual to-and-fro travel to complete tasks. You will occasionally find items and then create potions and medicines to heal the injured.

The HOSs thematically reflect the environment and showcase items relative to the nautical theme. Although they are varied, they do not shed much light on innovative qualities, as they are scant of interactive elements. I do love the "find and use" type in which you assist the doctor with cleaning Jack's wound. The puzzles are mostly on the simple side, although this doesn't diminish their entertaining value. They are short but sweet and interwoven into the storyline. I like the one in which you create a path by moving a knot along all of the lines. You discover a single collectible within each scene, and it can be challenging to find.

The redeeming quality is the captivating storyline, which compensates for the mediocre gameplay. Furthermore, playtime is lengthy compared to their other games. I do not know whether or not this game will develop into a series, but I love these standalone games in which each one delivers its own surprises. I suggest playing the free trial.

**Developer response:** Wow! Thank you very much for your review! :)
Arrrrrr :)
