## What is Unearth?

WHAT YOU DO
• Brush away dirt with one finger to reveal what's underneath.
• Walk around the dig with two fingers so no part stays buried.
• Uncover the whole piece to complete the find and read its museum label.
• Keep every artifact on your collection shelf, then dig again for a new one.

REAL PIECES, REAL NAMES
Some of what you uncover is real: museum objects from the Smithsonian's open-access 3D collection — Kangxi blue-and-white porcelain, a Delft ewer, Thomas Commeraw's salt-glazed stoneware jug, a Greek kylix from around 800 BC. Clean one off and its label tells you what it is, where and when it was made, and which museum holds it. The rest are hand-picked ceramics, from a floral porcelain teapot to white vases printed with Redouté's roses.

YOUR SHELF, PHOTOGRAPHED
The moment a piece is clean, it's photographed and set on a plinth in your collection — the actual artifact you uncovered, lit by the sky you dug it under. Rare finds wear an amber edge. Tap one to excavate it again, or share the photo of something you're proud of.

MADE TO BE CALM
• A quiet twilight dig site — warm light, cool air, no clutter.
• Gentle haptics and sound that answer your touch.
• Honors Reduce Motion.
• Plays fully offline. Set your own pace. Dust something off. Discover what's there.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-05

• 15 pieces to uncover, up from 3 — and five are real museum objects scanned by the Smithsonian, shown with their real names, origins, and museum labels.
• More pieces like the rose jug: a floral porcelain teapot and three white vases printed with botanical plates by Redouté and Le Moyne.
• Every pot now shows its true colors and surface detail.
• The same pots come up far less often.
• New App Clip: dig up a piece without installing the app.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-21

YOUR COLLECTION, PHOTOGRAPHED
Every finished dig is now photographed the moment you uncover it and set on a plinth on your shelf — the real piece you cleaned, with its own glaze and texture, instead of a flat outline. Rare finds wear an amber edge, and you can share the photo of a favourite find.

ARTIFACTS SIT PROPERLY IN THE GROUND
Fixed a placement bug that quietly buried the lower half of every artifact in the terrain. Pieces now rest on the dig floor, so you see the whole pot — foot and all — when it's finally clean.
