### 4/5 — Life changing; some bugs

*2026-08-19*

The philosophy of this app is exactly what I’ve been missing from the stock reminders app. Reminders don’t get lost anymore because Unforgetful reminds me about them, whether they have a due date or not, whether you’ve cleared the notification or not, whether they’re overdue or not.

However I’ve found a few bugs that I hope will be cleaned up. For example, I just marked a recurring monthly reminder complete, and it looks complete in the app, but in the reminders app it’s due later today and incomplete. And it’s a shared list so others don’t see the reminder as complete either.

Another issue: you can’t switch a reminder to or from a shared reminders list. This is probably an issue with Apple’s api because Fantastical can’t do this either. But Fantastical provides a message dialog telling you this, but Unforgetful just does nothing when you try so save the reminder.

Feature request: I would like all new reminders to default to the same list every time. Currently I think it remembers the list of the last reminder you added, but if it’s a shared list and you forget to check it, you can’t switch the list back because of the above bug.

Feature request: expose the “urgent” toggle from the reminders app. I love the alarm and live activity on the lock screen for the extra nag to get something done.

Feature request: I would really like to see additional snoozing options like “next weekend.”

Overall great app, and I really hope the rough edges will be smoothed out because I’ve become much more productive by using this!

### 3/5 — Good idea but fundamental bugs

*2026-08-18*

Good idea, I like the UI. But I see reminders which were already handled a checked off 2 weeks ago and which I do not see anymore in the reminders app. So at the end not useful for me and I canceled the subscription.

### 5/5 — ADHD Must-Have

*2026-08-17*

Just going to 5-star because it’s Marco. Looking forward to some polish. Also let’s not use simplicity as an excuse for inadequate feature set. We don’t need Reminders.app but we do need better location selection memory - it makes almost no sense to use your current location to remind your future self of a task. The dictation is disappointing, I expected Fantastical with parsing especially after all the talk of AI and vibe-coding. Instead of have Claude making my reminders CamelCase and going into Reminders.app which then goes into Unforgetful.

### 3/5 — Nice idea, needs refinement

*2026-08-17*

I like the underlying idea a lot especially the integration with reminders…but there are still teething issues with this latest version

- like the previous version, it gets quite muddled by repeating reminders. I got in a state where a weekly reminder that I completed yesterday was showing (incorrectly) as incomplete and overdue in reminders, but (correctly) complete and scheduled for next week in unforgetful. Ticking it off in reminders made reminders right, but then unforgetful incorrectly showed it as completed today and due in two weeks.

- has a bad habit of scheduling notifications at 11pm, right before I’m going to sleep. I never want this to happen. (I already have a focus to silence notifications when going asleep but this happened just before it kicked in)

- I wasn’t confident notifications will happen correctly if I don’t open the app every now and then, because it’s not clear how the notifications get rescheduled if I just ignore them. In particular I wasn’t confident that important notifications in reminders would fire when I’d set them to. Mainly because it’s super unclear what’s going on under the hood here.

### 4/5 — Great app that fixes my biggest problem with reminders

*2026-08-17*

I really like this app, as it fixes my number one pet peeve with reminders (having to set a date for the red badge to appear on the icon). Although I think someplace to give feedback/bug reports would be nice, as no app can be perfect. However, I still think it’s a nice app, keep up the great work Marco!

### 5/5 — Exactly what Apple Reminders is missing

*2026-08-17*

I’ve only been using this for a day, and I can tell it’s going to work so much better for me than Apple Reminders. First of all, the fact that is syncs with Apple Reminders is crucial. And it does so seamlessly. Second, the snooze or do-later options are outstanding. Apple only lets you move a reminder back an hour, or a few hours or a day. Unforgetful offers many more options. I have a lot of things I want to do someday, if I have time. That doesn’t mean they are not important, but I don’t want to be reminded about them every day. I just want them there in the background.

### 5/5 — Better than setting 10 alarms all day!

*2026-08-17*

This is a great app that puts all my reminders in one place and it notifies me when I’m supposed to do them. I used to have to set so many alarms all day, but now I can do it all in one app.

### 5/5 — Already brilliant

*2026-08-16*

Love this app already 👏👏👏 a to-do reminders app I’ll actually stick with.

### 5/5 — Great start

*2026-08-16*

I enjoy the premise of the app. It’s an opinionated task management app, optimized around completing the tasks and limiting ability to organize them, other than snooze them in the future. Version one is good enough for daily use, looking forward to see the app mature in the coming months!

### 5/5 — Smart lists?

*2026-08-15*

Assuming it’s not currently possible for Unforgetful to access my Smart Lists?

That’s where I track my important stuff!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — ADHD is not a term to be used lightly.

*2026-08-21*

I have a real problem with the way ADHD is used in this app’s marketing.

The developer has acknowledged that he has never been diagnosed with ADHD, yet positions Unforgetful as being designed specifically for “ADHD brains.” As the parent of children with ADHD, I see their struggles every day. ADHD is not simply forgetfulness, distraction, or needing better reminders. It is a real neurodevelopmental disorder that can affect nearly every part of daily life.

You don’t need to have ADHD to create something useful for people who do. But if a medical condition is central to the app’s positioning, that claim should be supported by research, meaningful input from people with ADHD, or collaboration with a qualified ADHD specialist. Imagine how much more credible Unforgetful would be with that kind of professional endorsement.

I’m not reviewing whether the app actually works or not. I’m questioning the casual use of a medical diagnosis as a marketing device without a clear clinical or evidence-based foundation.

### 1/5 — No painless way to try

*2026-08-18*

I wish there was a way to actually try this app which wouldn’t force me to first sign up for a subscription which I’ll then invariably forget to cancel. So much for no shame to those who are forgetful, only they’ll end up being charged.

### 1/5 — Vibe coded slop

*2026-08-17*

Developer is on record admitting that this app is largely vibe coded slop, then has the gall to charge $20 a year for it despite no ongoing server costs.

### 1/5 — No free basic mode

*2026-08-16*

Let’s you do the whole setup only to show a purchase screen in the end. This app should have a basic free mode to try out without a subscription, otherwise this „free app“ ist just a billboard.

### 1/5 — Cannot use at all without paying

*2026-08-14*

Shame on this developer. After going through the onboarding and getting excited to try the app, you get the paywall. You get one life in this world to live and this is how you decide to waste people’s time. and no i don’t want to even start a trial without first experiencing the app a little. These days so much slop out there and you can even see this is made with AI because there’s no animation in onboarding when going to next page. it just abruptly appears.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-08-14*

The app is incredibly basic. The only way to use it, is by buying a yearly subscription, which is quite expensive considering the app has no server cost (it runs on Apple Reminders).
The app feels vibe coded (AI).

### 2/5 — Not for me

*2026-08-17*

This seems like a nice looking app that fixes some of the awkwardness of the default app. With some ideas from Remind Faster. But the constant notifications just drove me crazy, so I had to turn them off. That’s not going to be helpful - so it’s a no-go for me.

### 2/5 — Notifications are a mess

*2026-08-17*

I don’t understand the way notifications are working: it reminds me about already completed reminders and also about reminders without a time on them. The main difference I see is that the snooze options are much more flexible, which is great if you previously had a problem with the Reminders snooze options. Otherwise it looks and acts much like Reminders.

I expect we’ll see many feature and bug fix updates which might fix the problems and add more reasons to use it, given that he’s also the developer behind the excellent Overcast.

-Update-

Only some of the reminders have the name of the list on.

It doesn’t even show all outstanding reminders, especially reminders in the morning.

### 2/5 — Honest Review: Needs Room to Grow

*2026-08-16*

This app was clearly built to be a stripped-down, solid reminder tool, but it's hard to justify an ongoing subscription given its current limitations compared to the competition.
Pros:
 Clean, fresh-out-of-the-box potential.
Cons & Feature Limitations:
Creation is a chore: If you prefer typing over voice commands (like Siri), the experience is frustrating. There is no natural language input, requiring too many manual clicks just to set a time.
Rigid Snoozing: You are locked into preset snooze times (15 min, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, tomorrow) with zero customization or control—a limitation it shares with Apple's native reminders app.
How It Compares to the Competition
If you are looking for the best tools in the ecosystem, here is how other apps stack up:
For Quick Creation: RemindMeFaster remains the king of adding reminders to the native app, paired with natural language input and quick suggestions. Apple's native app also handles this better.
For Custom Control & Persistent Alerts: Due is unmatched for custom snoozing and persistent alerts (though it uses its own database, it does support reminder imports).
For Power Users: GoodTask offers absolute control and endless options, though it can feel overwhelming for some.
The Verdict:
While I'd love to see this new app grow and evolve, it currently doesn't earn extra stars for reminder creation or flexibility. It has potential, but it needs significant updates to justify a subscription model.

### 2/5 — Great idea but no support / feedback site	for bugs

*2026-08-14*

Bug: if you complete a task in the app, it doesn’t also complete it in Reminders even if you restart both apps. This means I have two tasks to complete every time which goes against the point of the app. I get that it’s a new app but this seems like a basic test condition. Luckily it has a month test before paying.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It is for me, too!

*2026-08-23*

Incredible. This guy is amazing. Just a simple app that does something low key, efficiently, and effectively. Just like the radio player that he made that plays podcasts (Overcast—check it [though you may have to scroll a bit because apple have been %^*&ing too many spiders in that horrid app store]), this app is light and it works without all the annoying nagging whining nonsense that apps seem to do these days. Bravo!

### 5/5 — Finally

*2026-08-23*

I’ve wished Reminders notifications worked like this for so long. I don’t consider myself ADHD or anything, I just way prefer this behavior over Apple’s default. Thank you for making this!

### 5/5 — Nailed it.

*2026-08-22*

Genuinely helpful… I cannot believe the things I’ve been able to get done over the last few days that would have taken me weeks to forget about and remember at the worst times 🤣

### 5/5 — Great - Missing some customization

*2026-08-22*

This is the app that the doctor ordered to make sure that you don't lose your random reminders that you've been very good at putting in but never actually accomplishing. Perfect for anyone, really. Question, is there a way to add some settings that allow you, for instance, to not follow the theme of your computer, so you can choose dark or light mode. Also, make things that you put in as done go away right away instead of sitting in the list with a line through them. Those would be great features. I'm sure there's more, but those are my first takes.

### 5/5 — Not just for ADHD

*2026-08-22*

I’m a senior who has reached that age where the memory doesn’t work well. I can set something down and 5 minutes later forget where I put it. Marco created Overcast, a podcast app I use daily. So when he mentioned Unforgetful I knew it had to be good. And I haven’t been disappointed. It’s not overly complicated like other reminder apps. It does what it says on the can. And if you’re a senior geek like me, you might enjoy the ATP Podcast.

### 5/5 — yes perfect 💯

*2026-08-22*

hello

it was terrible to have a thing on my home screen with a red badge containing 273 items. now those 273 things are gone because they don’t actually matter anymore! greatest thing since sliced tomatoes. but what do i do now?

### 5/5 — wonderful

*2026-08-21*

Trying Unforgetful on my Mac and iPhone. It’s wonderful so far. I love the personality of the app (gently relentless, thoughtful, kind, sort of like Marco, I imagine). And it’s brilliant at offering the kind of options I need (and didn’t know I needed until I saw them). Looking forward to giving it a good thorough test.

### 5/5 — Excellent features

*2026-08-21*

There are many reminder apps, but this app has some specific smarts that others do not. I love the quick "voice dictation" and natural language parsing, I like the server smarts of having the macOS app be able to update the iPhone app silently, and I love the "delayed notification" when arriving at a location. I really like how I’m not bombarded with notifications when things are due, it randomizes them so I always can see something I haven’t seen before. It’s really great.

### 5/5 — Finally my kind of reminders app

*2026-08-20*

This app really seems to get me. It‘s no hassel to quickly enter a new reminder and it requires you to also set a due date. Now I only have to remember to bring my phone… Perfect👍

### 5/5 — ADHD reminders! Yay!

*2026-08-20*

But... if you're an OCD ADHD person, it might not be for you.

I hate saying that. I really do. Because I know Marco really thought this through. And he's right about so much! He's so close to hitting my needs, but. Nope.

And that isn't a thing to ding the app over. I see it! And I don't want to mess it up for others. I firmly support this app! And I don't demand any changes to fit my variant of adhd .

I support and subscribe. And I'll just enjoy seeing if it shapes closer to my needs. While not being a demanding user complaining about how it fails me. I choose to observe how it shapes and matures.

High potential. Amazing dev. An app written by an authentic guy. Wrote for his needs first. Which means if your needs align, you just won the lottery!

At least try it. One month free. Definitely worth the trying out. Marco's very judgy opinions might align with yours. And it would suck to miss out on what is a pretty decent utility!

Thanks yall!
