In want circumstance would you want to use the app remotely but NOT want the person who is actually at home caring for your child to be able to see the baby on the monitor? The only time the app might come in handy is if you want to connect to the camera and you’re at home but out of range… I’m sure this is not why it was created! The app itself looks like it was released alongside the first iPhone back in 2008. Clunky interface and not user friendly at all. It is clear that Uniden did not think these issues through when developing the app, which is disappointing as this is a big selling point for a lot of people. The number of negative reviews on here is embarrassing … ### 1/5 — Loses connection constantly *2021-07-02, version 1.4.8* To say I am extremely disappointed and underwhelmed with the performance of this kit would be an understatement. For the app in the phone - Always freezes, always drops out, no amount of upgrading improves the ability for it to do what it says on the box. It is misleading and deceptive. Still can’t fix ### 1/5 — Great for a while then just failed *2020-11-22, version 1.4.8* Have they had this app for about five months, it was great to begin with -when I was at work or traveling I could check on my baby whilst mum at home settling or putting him down to sleep. However all of a sudden one day it froze on a particular picture and has never been able to access the camera since. Even worse, all devices have frozen on the same picture. We reset the device to factory settings, deleted the app from all devices and installed from scratch. No matter what, it’s now just a failure. I’d send it back if I could but I bought it via eBay brand new and those returns are just far too hard. You spend a small fortune on the monitor and cameras to use with the app and it never works, won’t connect, won’t accept the new password, won’t load. Would 100% not recommend this product to anyone to use remotely. Pathetic that you need to have a Ethernet cable connected at all times to the main dock. Even then it still does not work. It constantly drops out and you need to refresh. It’s not reliable and dangerous - bub might be emotionally crying but if the connection has failed you get an old picture on the screen which could show bub sleeping. It’s even worse when you connect two cameras to the one system. It constantly freezes or the connection drops out when you switch channels to view a subsequent camera. Given the market cost of the camera system you would expect an app that at least works, even if the app only has basic features. This frustrating product is the last thing sleep deprived parents need!! They’re response is always “just take it back to the shop and get a replacement “ when you have a newborn you don’t want to be running around to get replacement baby monitors that you paid good money for. I think uniden is just selling all of there stock of these cameras and aren’t to worried about maintaining service of they’re current cameras. So out a date ### 1/5 — Wish I could give less than a star… *2023-02-18, version 1.4.9* Like many other reviewers we paid a premium for the version of the monitor that allowed for remote viewing by the app. It barely works. And when it does it’s pretty useless. The app hasn’t been updated in years by the looks of it, and now we’re not able to connect far more often than we are able to. Resets of both the dock and monitor are now required almost daily to have any shred of confidence that we’re able to connect using the app through the night. The app is rubbish. I'm testing it out now and as soon as I open a different app, or refresh my Spotify, or emails (just giving examples guys) I drop connection with my camera. Couple of points to prove it's a software stability issue. 1. Connection is always able to be reinstated without adjusting hardware. 2. I have been testing this out in the same location and have not moved any hardware. 3. It has nothing to do with my wifi or router location - techs always love to play that card. So unless Uniden firstly acknowledge this issue, then sort it out with a firmware upgrade do not buy this product for the remote monitoring app feature - it does not exist ### 1/5 — Connection problems *2021-11-16, version 1.4.8* I can’t get this app to connect to my monitor. The screen did show no picture at first I just went into setting and hit Connect and it worked straight away. I really do think it's awesome I'm so glad I spent the money on it as I have twins. Connecting is hit and miss, and when it does connect it usually freezes or disconnects. If you exit the app for any reason, you also have to force shut down the whole program otherwise it won’t reconnect. It’s unfortunate these features haven’t been added. It makes the app not useful for me. I wish to have a monitor both upstairs and downstairs for ease and was hoping the app would allow this. I check on him frequently at night. Most of the time I can’t because it just stops working on the phone. And the monitor battery doesn’t last all night.
