Right now, EMERGENCY Evacuation is the only way to hold a gate open, but EMG Evacuation opens every single gate. The only flaw in it from my perspective is that it doesn’t interface with all smart phones properly. I should be able to activate my NFC and it allow me in. Instead, I have to start the Access app and then do it. But that’s a small issue in the grand scheme of things. As always, Ubiquiti is amongst the elite. **Developer response:** Hi, to unlock a door using your mobile device with method such as Mobile Tap, you can enable the UniFi Identity function on your UniFi Console and download and activate the Identity Endpoint mobile app. Additionally, we offer the Touch Pass feature, which utilizes the NFC function on iPhones, but this requires UA G3 readers to be installed. G4 doorbell pro you can see hear and unlock a door but the “start talking” button is grayed out. You can use protect and talk but that doesn’t have the unlock button. ### 5/5 — Access is awesome. *2025-04-06, version 2.7.0* We use a UniFi system to protect our shop, we have cameras and access control, our whole system is controlled by UniFi software, it is highly customizable and user friendly, you can set it to keep everything locked until the first person with authorization gains access, it has scheduling options, permission options, it can pair cameras with doors and locations. The one thing I wish for that it does not have is the ability to unlock all doors, or a selection of doors on first person entry, but for now “first person entry” only unlocks the door that is accessed. ### 5/5 — The best door bell *2025-02-22, version 2.5.0* Best home door bell gate opener our whole family and visitors want it, ### 5/5 — pretty good *2024-12-31, version 2.4.0* the features that are there work well but there could be more features/customization. The intercom viewers should 100% act as audio intercoms between rooms. they also should be able to view the protect cameras. Less important but still cool would be being able to restart the network and see the stats. ### 5/5 — Why this works for me? *2024-11-15, version 2.2.2* My office building has two main entrances and I need it to monitor the activity. The clarity is pretty pretty good, but I would love the lens to be able to have a wider view. Other than that, it works fantastic. All of the features that I know about and use work fantastic. I love when you could put the phone near the system and it will unlock the door. You can also issue key cards, but be sure that you identify what key card belongs to the individual. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — steaming pile. *2026-05-09, version 2.16.1* garbage just like the rest of the ubiquiti suite, promising more than it was ever made to handle. This particular app is just here to make you wait and wait and wait for it to respond to you telling it to unlock doors, great job y’all! the web panel is even worse somehow ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2025-10-15* Can’t get access to the app, very complicated, says password is wrong but password reset does nothing. We run an IT company so should not be this hard. **Developer response:** Hi, UniFi Access app uses UI Account, this is the same across most of the UI mobile apps. If you can't log into the UI Account that are added to the UniFi Console as the admin, you will need to use password recovery methods available to you to regain the access to the account in order for you to log in. For admins, you can always create local admin account by using Restrict to Local Access Only when creating the admin on your UniFi Console. The local admin account will be fully managed by you and can be used to log into the console locally when the phone is on the same network. For remote access, since that rely on the UniFi Site Manager service, UI Account is required. If one of the user can't remember their password and can't use any of the password recovery method, we suggest creating a new UI Account and use that account going forward. Please remove the new notification feature. Thank you. ### 1/5 — You’ll miss every delivery you ever get again *2024-08-30, version 1.9.5* The morons who designed this system, didn’t enable vibration notifications for incoming doorbell calls. So unless you keep your phone off silent like boomer, you won’t know if someone is trying to come in unless you’re actively staring at your phone all day. My building manager switched to this system recently and it’s deeply upsetting. Looks like the app is dead until Ubiquiti gets a fix out. ### 1/5 — App crashes on launch *2024-02-12, version 1.6.1* App immediately crashes immediately after clicking the icon on the Home Screen. Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn’t help at all. Unfortunately, using the web interface is the only other option; the web interface for access isn’t usable on mobile, since the sidebar section isn’t visible. ### 1/5 — Poor QA *2024-02-11, version 1.6.1* We’ve been successfully using this app with our platform for a couple of months; relying upon it for door access. Ubiquiti software development team’s quality assurance is apparently so horrid, that the app now suddenly crashes after the latest update, making it totally useless. Now we can’t remotely access videos, login credentials, or access logs. What a piece of junk. ### 1/5 — Sign in doesn't work, making app useless *2023-09-19, version 1.4.0* The sign in interface doesn't allow text to be entered for the "UI Account Email" or "Password" fields. Since you can't sign into this app it's completely useless. I wonder how this made it through App Review? I hope they get this fixed; it would be very useful to be able to use this on the mac. ### 1/5 — Terrible product and app *2023-07-11, version 1.3.2* Only admins can use this. If you have a group of people, they can have access cards, but they can't use the app. This feature is locked behind a monhtly subscription. We contacted UniFi and listed the issues, their developer team got involved and actively addressed the issues.
