### 2/5 — Clunky

*2026-08-23, version 3.9.0*

Not consistent. Wouldn’t recommend. Loading time is horrible.

### 3/5 — Sam Hanna

*2026-08-17, version 3.9.0*

Good system - but unfortunately, there’s not a way to easily toggle cameras on and off if you don’t want them working. You have to go into every individual camera and it is not very intuitive or easy. So for example, if you have people over your house and you want to turn off certain cameras and leave other ones on you have to go through each camera individually. With all their technology they haven’t figured out a way to create a menu to just let you toggle things on and off.

### 2/5 — Far from intuitive

*2026-08-17, version 3.9.0*

The app’s layout is really convoluted, it doesn’t align with how an end customer would actually use it. I think the unifi apps in general need a high level rethink, starting with understanding the end user better and then working from there - a top down approach. Rather than a bottom up approach where it appears to have been engineering led followed by adjustments to accommodate the customer.

### 3/5 — Full screen issue

*2026-08-15, version 3.9.0*

Something changed? You used to be able go from ‘portrait’ image of a camera to a landscape image that filled the whole of the iPhone screen - importantly you could turn the iPhone to landscape either way and it would self adjust. NOT NOW. The landscape image is fixed - only one way up, so you now find your camera image upside down rotating the iPhone one way and correct the other way - why? This is terribly frustrating. Additionally, you used to be able to tap the screen and turn the iPhone to get to landscape - now you have to find a ‘button’ to instigate the full screen - why? Both are time consuming and unnecessary.

### 3/5 — Almost great

*2026-08-03, version 3.8.0*

Some cameras don’t export. Have called the help desk with no resolution. AI smart detection is smart-ish. If I did it all over again I probably would have went Blue Iris.

### 3/5 — Getting buggy

*2026-08-01, version 3.8.0*

It’s getting buggy lately. Not able to connect .

### 3/5 — Laggy

*2026-07-31, version 3.8.0*

I have a 10Gb network and pulling up video feed, searching for events or detections is a pain, even while on the local network. It’s even worse on the computer for some reason! You guys HAVE to fix this.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-07-30, version 3.8.0*

UniFi Security is the so amazing. It is the best system I have used, it is on point and I Love it.

### 3/5 — Slow

*2026-07-29, version 3.8.0*

I have a full UniFi WiFi 6 network with excellent density. I also have a dream machine pro. Everything if nice and fast except this app. There is a serious delay in reviewing in-process activity. Otherwise it’s really good. That delay, though, is enough for someone to start kicking in my door before I get eyes on the threat and that’s not good.

### 5/5 — I love you Unifi

*2026-07-27, version 3.8.0*

I love you Unifi

### 5/5 — Great to have

*2026-07-26, version 3.8.0*

Everything is great

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-07-26, version 3.8.0*

Best app

### 5/5 — Products are amazing

*2026-07-26, version 3.8.0*

The best security app I ever used

### 2/5 — HQ doesn’t work

*2026-07-26, version 3.8.0*

Video quality is extremely poor. 4K cameras display like grainy and unviewable. Tried different settings but had no effect on image quality.

### 5/5 — New cameras

*2026-07-25, version 3.8.0*

While we have only had the system for a couple of days it is impressive. It has exceeded our expectations. Thoroughly recommend.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unifi Good / Ringing Doorbell Bad

*2026-08-05, version 3.8.0*

Love my unifi systems but the protect app is such a cluster when trying to get to a ringing doorbell to talk to the person. Seems like 9 out of 10 times I end up looking at the clip of someone pressing the doorbell instead of actually being able to talk to the person. Not sure why it’s so damn hard to get this feature right.

### 1/5 — Avoid if possible

*2026-08-03, version 3.8.0*

Constantly and consistently loosing camera connections, do not use if this is important monitoring

### 1/5 — Highly unreliable

*2026-07-27, version 3.8.0*

I have 6 Unifi cameras in my home and the quality of cameras is on par with the market, prices are on the premium side. That would be acceptable if it worked like a premium product. It does not. Connecting to the app even when local in the network can take ages, often fails, cameras crash multiple times in the day and in 2 years I've had hardware faults in 3 of them. I would stay away from this brand of I was in the markey

### 1/5 — Lots of bugs in alarm manager

*2026-07-25, version 3.8.0*

I have 15 cams between g5 and g6 and I for the door sensors, superlink gateway, the whole 9. Well I removed my Ring alarm systems that just always worked to replaced this. The Audible alarm when the door sensors is inconsistent at best. It goes off while the alarms are off or doesn’t go off when it needs to. I wish never ripped out the Ring System, otherwise CCTV works fine.

### 1/5 — Produits alarmes inutilisable !

*2026-07-25*

*2026-07-20*

Crash en utilisant les presets, pas sérieux.

### 1/5 — Floodlight

*2026-07-17, version 3.8.0*

You removed the floodlights control from the main view!?!

### 1/5 — Stop Asking for Reviews

*2026-07-13, version 3.7.0*

Instead of seeing my cameras the app froze all to deliver a message asking me to rathe this so here you are.

FIX THE AUTO LOGOUT ON HOME NETWORKS AND FORCED 2FA EVERY HOUR.

Would give 0 stars but it’s not an option neither is to never be bothered with leaving a review so this is the only way to make it go away.

### 1/5 — Spotlights

*2026-07-03, version 3.7.0*

At the top of my main screen it used to just show spotlights.
Now it's showing ALL detections, rendering this part of the screen pointless. That's the whole point of the detections screen.
At least give us a toggle to decide what is shown here.

### 1/5 — Thousands of unwanted alerts

*2026-06-28, version 3.7.0*

Where’s the AI to detect and make this system useful. Right now. It’s just junk and simply not with the cost. Photos are grainy. Tens of thousands of photos of gentle motions cause it to alert. A typical story of crying wolf.

### 5/5 — Great system!!

*2026-08-10, version 3.9.0*

Best camera system I have ever owned. You buy it and it’s yours no one but you can get into it. You run it as you want. Has remote access and there is so many options in cameras, and the installation is the easiest. Great great product

### 5/5 — Home security

*2026-08-08, version 3.9.0*

We use the cameras and the controllers and they’re very easy to use and they do the job so what more do you want? Reliability yes definitely quality very good. We use one of their controllers that allows us to use Starlink and fibre so when One falls over the other one clicks in which happens quite regularly because of the service providers, especially the fibre. We live in a jungle in Central America
And it works seamlessly the only thing I know about it is when I get a message to say that it happened.

### 5/5 — Ubiquity Protect App

*2026-08-02, version 3.8.0*

I simply love this app! Easy to use and very reliable

### 5/5 — Great camera

*2026-08-01, version 3.8.0*

Easy to operate.

The app is easy to navigate.
