### 1/5 — Great service, bad doctors

*2026-01-25, version 11.0*

I thought this was a great alternative to making a trip to the doctor. These doctors on here will never prescribe medication, they’re always telling me to try some natural home remedies. I’m contacting the doctor for medication not to advise me on home remedies. If not home remedies they’re instructing me to try something over the counter. These doctors are unprofessional and they really don’t care

### 1/5 — Deprecated?

*2025-12-14, version 11.0*

This app, not updated for over 2 years, seems no longer applicable as it hits a server that never responds. Doctor chat is also now included in the main UHC app so this one should be removed from the App Store.

### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Work

*2025-10-29, version 11.0*

Great idea - poor execution. The app just opens the browser and sends you to a dead/inactive link.

### 1/5 — Newly downloaded won’t log in

*2025-10-07, version 11.0*

Newly downloaded this to be seen online. It won’t log in at all. Just keeps saying no server.

### 1/5 — Useless!

*2025-09-08*

Takes you to a link on your browser that never opens! Completely useless!!

### 4/5 — So grateful but needs improvement

*2025-04-24, version 11.0*

I have been loving telehealth/telemedicine. I am socially awkward and anxious so it’s a blessing to connect with doctors from home. I have tried so many doctor apps over the years such as PlushCare, Dr on Demand, HealthTap, MDLive, TelaDoc, 98point6 and LiveHealth online. UHC doctor chat stands out because it’s a text based visit. It’s what I loved about 98point6 before they revamped or something. One of the problems with UHC is that it starts from an app then takes you over to internet browser (Safari for me). I highly advise you use the desktop for best experience. It’s easier to navigate on a desktop so now I open the website from there. However, the doctor sometimes needs to do a quick video call so I have to go back into my phone since my desktop doesn’t have a camera. The problem with switching over to safari is that we don’t get notified when the doctor writes a message. I do get notifications/alerts on desktop though. There are some drawbacks/negatives with this app but I love how quickly I connect to a doctor compared to my last insurance that used LiveHealth Online. MDLive was even worse (at least for my state it was). This is my first time with United Healthcare and I am happy I made the switch. I know the app has its inconveniences but the positives for me outweighs the troubles. The positives: (1) connect to doctor quickly. (2) text based consultation. (3) refilled my scripts.

### 1/5 — Won’t let me use the app

*2025-03-22, version 11.0*

When I open the app it tells me to sign in using the portal. I click the button and opens safari and I sign in on the web but just directs me to my account page. Can’t find anywhere to talk to a Dr on the website and when I go back to the app it tells me to sign in using the portal and the same thing happens over and over.

### 3/5 — Somewhat unnecessary

*2025-02-16, version 11.0*

This isn’t a particularly useful app.. it’s literally just a link to open the landing page on your browser.. I’m not really sure why it exists to be honest..? With that being said, I’m rating 3 stars because I love the actual UCH doctor chat service it’s self and have used doctor chat on a couple of occasions with fabulous results. Each time I have had the pleasure of seeing very kind, thorough and knowledgeable providers and gotten my issue resolved in an unbeatable time. Just wish the app actually had the expected substance and functionality.

### 4/5 — Potential to be great but needs improvement

*2024-10-25*

I like the text based communication because I have weird anxiety and this makes me feel more comfortable. I just don’t really like how it starts from an app but it takes you to the internet browser (safari) to chat. The scrolling and navigation is a little awkward but the doctors are legit. They refilled my prescription. I contacted them on the weekend and he told me to come back during the weekday for refills but he could assist me with other health concerns. Apparently he referred me and passed along our chat to another doctor because when I logged back in midweek I realized another doctor tried to contact me at the beginning of the week. They made attempts to reach me but I was never notified by email or anything. My phone also didn’t notify me since it’s a chat through safari and not the phone app. I forgot to mention I did have one video chat briefly with a doctor before It went back to text format. Hopefully it will be improved in the future. I actually switched insurance just to try this app because other insurances use telehealth apps that I have been dissatisfied with. Telemedicine is part of our future and they should invest in them in my opinion.
