Your app is really good nonetheless! Sorry I had to edit again: There’s something in space that’s located 14 million light years away called Cloud 9. Astronomers think it’s a failed galaxy. It’s pinkish-purple in colour and mostly made of gas and dark matter. It is estimated to be about 4,900 light years across. **Developer response:** Thank you for the 5 stars and your suggestions. We added IC 1101 in 2025, and Giga Nevada was replaced by Giga Texas in 2023. You can choose the app language in the app settings. Black holes themselves are invisible (nothing, not even light, escapes the event horizon), so all depictions focus on their effects on nearby material. The iconic “swirly” look primarily comes from accretion disks: flattened, rotating structures of gas, dust, and plasma that spiral inward, but these are not part of the black hole and can be confusing when visualizing its size. Every update shows more amazing objects and how they fit in our world. The visuals are wonderfully done and the info on each object is simple enough for anyone to understand.
