## What is Unknown Contact?

A stranger has your number. They need help. Everything happens in the chat.

Unknown Contact is a collection of short interactive stories that play out entirely as text messages. No cutscenes, no maps, no menus to fight through — just a conversation with someone who is in trouble, and the words you choose to send back.

Tap a suggested reply, or type anything you want. Ask about the noise in the vent. Tell them to run. Stay quiet and see what they do. The story is listening.

SEASON ONE — 20 STORIES, 80 ENDINGS
Every story runs about 15–20 minutes and hides four different endings. Some you stumble into. Some you have to earn by noticing the right detail and asking the right question.

HORROR
BASEMENT — a stranger, a locked room, one flickering bulb
THE BABYSITTER — don't let her answer the phone
THE HIKER — the trail markers have names on them
SNOW DAY — no footprints ever lead away

THRILLER & SUSPENSE
THE NEIGHBOR — he knows what's in your apartment
LAST TRAIN — the last train doesn't stop where it says
THE WITNESS — they recorded who wasn't supposed to be seen
WRONG EXIT — every ramp leads back to the same floor

MYSTERY
THE HOTEL — the room numbers keep changing
THE INHERITANCE — the letters already know your name
ESTATE SALE — every photo in the album is you
WRONG DELIVERY — the box arrived years too early

SCI-FI
NEW PHONE — the drafts are writing themselves
ECHO — your answers never match theirs
THE DEEP — a station that won't exist for sixty years
THE SIGNAL — eleven names, one blank line, eighteen minutes

COMEDY
CUSTOMER SUPPORT — it's just a smart fridge. probably.
GHOSTED — the haunting has the wrong apartment
PROBATIONARY PERIOD — first shift, impossible handbook, review at midnight
COLD FEET — forty minutes until a wedding nobody can find

WHY IT FEELS REAL
• Type whatever you want — the story understands what you meant, not just what you tapped
• Photos and voice notes arrive the way they would from someone genuinely scared
• Every voice note is captioned, so the sound is atmosphere and never homework
• People tell you their name only once they trust you
• Endings you've found are tracked, so you always know what you're still missing

FIVE STORIES FREE, FOREVER
One story in every genre is free and always will be. No timers, no lives, no energy meters, no ads, no waiting for tomorrow. If you want the rest, Season One is a single one-time purchase that unlocks all 20 stories permanently. There is no subscription and nothing else to buy, ever.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything stays on your device. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind. Plays completely offline. On supported iPhones, free-text understanding runs on-device — nothing you type is ever sent anywhere.

Turn the brightness down. Put headphones on if you're brave.

Someone is typing.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-10

Live Mode now actually texts you when you leave, and a few progress and purchase nicks are gone.

- Leaving a conversation during a Live pause no longer cancels the notification that was supposed to bring you back.
- An ending you already reached is counted even if you left before the ending card appeared.
- A reply that had already landed isn't spoken twice when you reopen the thread.
- Messages shows an unread dot — and the right time — when a character has come back.
- Ask to Buy and other pending purchases now tell you they're waiting, instead of doing nothing.
- Voice notes finish cleanly, and clearing one Live notification no longer wipes the badge for another.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-13
