## What is UnlockSmart?

UnlockSmart transforms the iPad unlock moment into a learning opportunity. Before accessing the iPad, kids answer a few quick, age-appropriate questions — earning minutes of screen time for every correct answer.
Set up in seconds
Parents configure everything in one onboarding screen: child's name, grade band, avatar, and a 4-digit parent PIN. Ready in under two minutes.
Built-in grade levels
Pre-K / Kindergarten (Ages 4–6): Counting, shapes, colors, phonics, and rhyming. Questions are read aloud automatically so early readers can play independently.
Grades 1–2 (Ages 6–8): Addition, subtraction, early multiplication, spelling, and word problems — with voice read-aloud included.
Grades 3–5 (Ages 8–11): Multi-step arithmetic, fractions, reading comprehension, figurative language, and inference.
Earn minutes, not just answers
Every correct answer earns iPad minutes. Parents control how many questions per unlock (1–10), how many minutes each correct answer is worth (1–15), and the daily screen-time cap. Repeated struggles are automatically flagged in the Parent Dashboard so you know exactly where to focus.
Parent Dashboard
Today's unlocks, accuracy, and minutes earned at a glance. Topic-by-topic accuracy bars for the last 7 days. A "Needs Attention" list of questions your child has missed 3 times. Daily and all-time streak tracking.
App Lock
UnlockSmart integrates with iOS Screen Time / Family Controls to keep the question screen front and center — no Guided Access setup required. Enable or disable App Lock anytime from Settings.
Flexible parent controls
Configurable parent PIN. Adjustable unlock rules. Choose between instant retry or a penalty wait (1–60 minutes) when a session ends with no correct answers.
Privacy first
No accounts. No cloud. No ads. All data stays on your iPad using Apple's standard on-device storage — it never leaves your device.
