Ultra: It's Ultra Unpossible. This is the pinnacle of Unpossible. The obstacles spin, the sequences you learned before will need to be unlearned. You will be challenged all the way to your soul. Ultra is hardcore. Masocore even. Only the strongest will make it through Ultra.

Daily gameplay levels:
Daily Simplicity, Daily Futile and Daily Ultra. If you like to practice the same level, these levels are for you. Cruise: This is the zen level. You can’t die. Practice your turns if you’d like or hang your device on a wall to make a live-action art piece. It’s chill.

### 5/5 — Still a classic

*2025-05-10, version 1.3*

So happy this app got an update to fit the screens of new phones! The only feature suggestion I have is to add a pause button that when you resume it has a countdown to get you ready. Other than that it’s simple and perfect.

### 5/5 — Love this game all over again!

*2025-04-23, version 1.3*

I used to play this game years ago and it challenged the heck out of me then and now it’s been updated! I had forgotten how much fun it is!!

### 1/5 — Controller support is broken

*2025-04-21, version 1.3*

The game recognizes that I have my controller paired but I can’t interact w/ the game. I’ve tried Xbox and PS5 gamepads. Neither works.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2025-04-20, version 1.3*

A cult classic has returned in great shape! These are the games that make mobile gaming great! If you haven’t yet, just get it right now!

### 5/5 — Good fun

*2025-04-20, version 1.3*

Can’t believe after 11 years the developers still updating it. No ads, straight £0.99. More than worth it in my opinion.

### 5/5 — oml

*2024-05-14, version 1.2*

.
Please adjust the screen,, to fit the newer phones model..

### 5/5 — Saved my life

*2023-06-02, version 1.2*

I got this game a long time ago with my older brother because it looked cool, played it for a couple of months as a way to pass time, and then completely forgot about it for years. A lot has changed since then. My brother and I went off to college in different places, he’s getting married, life has gotten serious and there’s no longer a lot of time for games. I rediscovered this a few months ago after receiving a diagnosis that would change my life. I had fallen ill my senior year of high school, missed a ton of class, was throwing up and crapping my brains out every morning, and the stress from worrying about an accident in public made my symptoms way worse. At times, mornings were unbearable and I was incredibly worried about going out into the world. Most mornings, I felt pathetic and hopeless. This game helped change that (Along with treatments, dietary changes, procedures, etc.). I play this game almost every morning when I feel sick and it has a magic way of taking my mind off my nausea and abdominal discomfort like no other thing can. I’m now studying (microbiology) at the medical school and have an incredible amount of school work and a stressful research position, but overall feel a whole lot better. I am able to take control of my morning with Unpossible by just playing a few rounds of ultra as weird as it sounds. It’s an old game and hasn’t received updates or popularity for years, but I wanted to write this review to say thank you in case a developer reads this. It has honestly helped to change my life for the better. 5/5.

### 5/5 — Incredible.

*2022-10-21, version 1.2*

Even though this is an old game, it is still incredibly fun, free, and entirely ad-free. Absolutely awesome fun.

### 5/5 — Wicked games

*2022-09-22, version 1.2*

Such an awesome style, great futuristic music, and a simple yet crazy fun gameplay.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2025-04-19

ULTRA UNPOSSIBLE UPDATE!!
- Improved a shiny graphics shader to look better and clean some cobwebs.
- Cut loose some old explosion effect code that was being fussy.
- Player camera tweaks.
- Cleaned out remnants of the long-gone video streaming service in Unpossible 1.0.
- Fine tooth combed the controls popup to make sure it pops up and controls the controls.
- Kicked the Last Game slider menu thing to be in the right place on iPads.
- Removed the game engine analytics.
- Bumped the min iOS version. Sorry, old devices. It wasn't you, it was me.
- Wiped some In App Purchase code since we’re not here for that.
- Hunted/found some unhelpful debug logging.
- Polished the double swipe to close vs inviso home button code. You can now single-swipe to close Unpossible. This is the way.
- Gutted all the Facebook & Twitter integration code, buttons, flashy things, etc.
- Reworked the splash screen logic to...look exactly the same as it previously was.
- Fixed GameCenter Challenges. So, whenever you finish a rockin' game, hit that Challenge Friends button & throw down the gauntlet!
- Made the player death explosion much more initially orange then passing through purple with a glowy lightning-filled blast bubble then explodiness into a nice blue...so you are really sure to know when you died.
- Ok. This update involved moving Unpossible forward in time through 7 years of game engine releases. Boatloads of little things broke. Can you believe that obstacles just randomly stopped appearing starting at 20 seconds into a game? They picked up again later, but the gap-of-nothingness was really boring. We hunted that Bad Johnny down and fixed it like mad. Flowing Unpossible obstacles again!
- The path generation tools got some serious work too. All that stuff is now updated, massaged and motivated. Go path-tube-of-justice-thing, go!
- Brought the pool manager spawn/despawn/respawn code into the now.
- Sequence06. That thing was trying to start a fight. A serious fight. We convinced it to be a lover, not a fighter.
- Updated all the GameCenter handling code.
- Updated all the iCloud game save code.
- Wow. Fixed hundreds of different 3d meshes & obstacle sequences so that everything displays the way it should. That stuff broke HARD when the 7-year-newer game engine moved into town. Seriously, all the glowy bits were gone. What's Unpossible without glowy bits??
- Cut out some friend debug info rambling log stuff.
- Tons of testing with the new iCloud code to make sure the transition works perfecto-ly when you update.
- Updated the control handling backend infrastructure. The Kalman filters are Kalmaning. Keep your hands on the wheel though.
- As part of the new device support, some menu things were moved/adjusted/realigned/tweaked to be in the right place when they were supposed to be and to be nowhere when they needed to be gone.
- Fixed some weird artifacts that sometimes got left by the player unalive explosion.
- Rewrote the menu button positioning code to handle these fancy new devices with gorgeous islands, notches, barrier reefs, etc.
- Fixed a silly bug where the increase & decrease level buttons would show up again if you repeatedly pressed that area after they were purposefully hidden. (Why were people pressing those after they were hidden??)
- Removed Flurry Analytics. Ba-bye.
- Thought about resizing & centering the secretly large & invisible increase/decrease/play level buttons.
- Removed some graphics code that wasn't used on the iOS version of Unpossible. Just making sure the awesome buttery smoothness of Unpossible is unpossibly smooth.
- Turned off the news banner thing. You see enough news anyway.
- Added arrow key controls in case you're playing this on macOS.

Whew! Thanks a ton for playing Unpossible. I really love this game and it means a lot that you might give it a shot. If you happen to read this, post something with #unpossible and #theend in it so we can share an online high five. YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

IT'S HERE!! The new update for Unpossible is in your hands! Here's all the new awesomesauce:

- Improved the level creation logic.
- Updated iCloud integration.
- Changed Twitter/Facebook button functionality.
- Removed some piles of un-needed code & libraries. Who needs those anyway?
- Updated shaders on the menu & a few other places for more shadery goodness.
- Restructured sub-menu 3d ordering so that things show correctly & looked perfectly 2d. Go figure.
- Updated button sounds.
- Updated all 3d sounds. Whoosh!
- Fixed menu zooming & positioning so that the menus fit all the devices. Snug as a bug in a rug!
- Massaged the track glow texture so it looks better when you're zipping along the course at Ultra speeds. Zoom zoom zoomy glowwww!
- Fixed the challenge menu. Finish a game & hit the challenge button to challenge your friends!
- Tweaked the auto-framerate/glow/GPU settings.
- The player death explosion is more/different explosiony.

Thanks for playing Unpossible and thanks for reading the entire update notes! If you made it this far, you're a hero. Tweet something out with #unpossible and #theend in it!

### 1.1 — 2014-05-21

Thank you so much to all the amazing Unpossible players!
TONS OF IMPROVEMENTS! Here's the new stuff:
- VROOOM! Performance out the wazoo. If we told you all we did to make this happen, you would totally fall asleep. It's way cool though. We might do a blog post about it. Or even a conference talk.
- Guess what those performance improvements mean? Yup, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4th gen support!
- Faster load times. Who wants to wait around forever? Not us - play sooner!
- Told the the level-changomatic-arrows not to show up on screen so fast when a game ends. They kept jumping in the way of people trying to play again. They've been warned.
- There are some amazing players out there that, through insanely impressive high scores, found a crash in the Daily levels. Since the crash only happens at really high scores, this didn't impact many people. However, it's really, really bad for those who found it. Imagine playing one game of Unpossible for 10 minutes only to have it crash on you. Sad now, aren't you? Yeah, we know and we're really sorry. We fixed it. Bug squished.
- Your high scores now sync with the magic in the sky better. There was a bug before where if you scored a high score, closed the game, opened a bunch of other stuff so that the device completely shut down Unpossible, then relaunched Unpossible (on some device types), the saved data for your high scores would get wiped. Yup, that happened. It took millions of games from all your players to find it, but it happened. We used some duct tape and a shoe horn to stop that. If you find any other crazy, unpossible to find bugs, let us know. (Or don't. We lost some hair over this one.)
- You now earn the Daily-Septa Futile & Ultra achievements how you're supposed to. If you managed to nab them before, good on ya. Let's just say they're more challenging now.
- Secret tweaks somewhere in the level building magic
- More level tweaks for super-amazing players. Try to get past an hour now in Simplicity. We dare you.
- Sliced & diced the songs so that they now flow all super awesome-like. Silence is not golden. It's boring. No more silence.
- Supercharged the device detect-o-matic stuff to make sure the right graphics features are turned on for the right devices.
- News! Find out what's going on from the north, the east, the west, and the south.
- Turned up the main scene light by 16.38418079096%. Because, you know, it's good to be able to see.
- Oh my. The achievement banner was way messed up on the iPhone 4S. It's now kicked back into place.
- The video sharing stuff was spewing some clipped app links. No more.
- Put four times the pixels in the splash screen for the new iPads. That's a lot of dots.
- Apparently some people people call this game Umpossible. With an M. Or even Unimpossible. Why? Stop it. Please. Unpossible. Spread the word. :)

If you love Unpossible, please tell your friends. It'd also be super amazing if you'd leave a review in the App Store. <3

If you read all that, you might be the only one. Tweet something with #unpossible and #theend in it.
