### 2/5 — expensive

*2026-09-19, version 3.2.15*

it’s nice but why is it so expensive? tbh i dont think it should have a paywall in the first place but for $10 a week or 70 a year is insane to me.

### 3/5 — The support is…

*2026-09-17*

The app is good but i get the impression that the support release bit updates and dont care about the bugs😐

### 2/5 — Payant

*2026-09-13*

C’est 60€ par an ou 10€ par semaines c’est un système horrible, si vous souhaitez en faire une bonne appli peut être essayer de rassurer le consommateur en laissant 1 mois d’essai gratuit.

### 4/5 — Changed My Life for Better, Improvements Still Possible

*2026-09-07, version 3.2.15*

The underlying concept behind this app is brilliant, as it compels me to do useful things with my time, in order to *earn* that time spent giving my brain a rest with a scroll (mostly on YouTube or news websites). It’s helped make my relationship with YouTube much healthier, which has been a recurring problem in my life for years.

This app could however go further. To my knowledge, there is no laptop/browser integration, meaning users could just migrate their ‘scroll time’ to their computer (albeit there are ways around it, e.g. blocking websites from the command prompt as I’ve done).

I also find the interface really clunky. I rarely track my ‘unrot time’ with a timer, and I hate that I have to set it to indefinite every single time. Furthermore, it happens a lot that I’ll realise I need access to a certain app during a certain activity (e.g. I need access to my banking apps while working, or access to Spotify while cooking etc.). The process of quitting the activity and setting the permitted apps up correctly is super clunky and takes longer than it should. There should be some kind of shortcut for this, e.g. a pause function that allows you make changes to the activity settings. Also, for custom activities you only get options of 10, 20 or 30 coins/hr, why can’t I set it to 15? Or indeed anywhere in between?

Overall however, a good app with a brilliant underlying concept.

### 3/5 — Wish there was a free version - £49.99/year is unbelievable

*2026-09-06, version 3.2.15*

I was so excited to try this, but it costs way too much so I won’t be able to use it… I can see some comments saying £24 a year, but mine says £49.99 per year, and £7.99 a week, that’s by no means affordable in the current financial climate. Really sad because I do genuinely want to use it. I wish there were a free version. I get the need to profit off your app, but this is way too much. :(

### 2/5 — Please fix the bugs

*2026-09-04, version 3.2.15*

Was excited to use the app and it actually reduced my screen use a lot. But the bugs and glitches are everywhere: some buttons don’t work, challenge progress not updating… also can’t find a place to report them in the app. Appreciate the idea, but the app feels unpolished for something with a subscription fee.

### 1/5 — Crazy expensive

*2026-09-03, version 3.2.15*

£50 for a one year subscription is crazy for what seems to be a pretty straightforward app. Not a fan that it doesn’t tell you upfront you need a subscription either, just wasting my time

### 3/5 — Nice App

*2026-09-02*

It basically has been the same app for a few months now, the developers says they add a few new features but I don’t see any. So please let us create our own quests and please add more exercises like squats and burpees tv and make there be a way to earn the Unrot points by like walking. Also add other things to buy with the Unrot points like boosts etc. And finally there has only been one 28 days challenge from April-May and it was fun and I actually locked in and without it I haven’t been locking in as much.

Please Unrot, We need you to listen.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-29, version 3.2.15*

It’s so hard and nothing works I can’t do anything it just sits

### 2/5 — Too expensive

*2026-08-29*

It’s too expensive and sometimes there was an error that it didn’t block the app that i registered

### 1/5 — Money

*2026-08-27, version 3.2.15*

They want us to pay for this im crine😭😭😭😭

### 3/5 — Boa funcionalidade

*2026-08-25*

Porém preciso que o app não bloqueie meu Spotify. Só treino ouvindo música. Não possui uma whitelist para manter apps sem bloqueio durante uma sessão de unrot

### 1/5 — This needs money

*2026-08-25, version 3.2.15*

I need to pay money
Just to do it at least make it not take money

### 1/5 — I don’t

*2026-08-23, version 3.2.15*

Don’t like subscriptions

### 1/5 — Not actually free

*2026-08-22, version 3.2.15*

Doesnt let you use it without paying, waste of time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — sadly a waste of time

*2026-09-19, version 3.2.15*

takes multiple minutes to even make an account just to find out it costs £50 a year to even use it???

### 1/5 — Tu dois payer

*2026-09-17*

### 1/5 — Require subscription

*2026-09-16, version 3.2.15*

Was absolutely stoked seeing all the videos on Insta of this concept, went to find out it’s 100% paid subscription. Don’t waste your time people

### 1/5 — Not free

*2026-09-16, version 3.2.15*

Not free. Deleted instantly

### 1/5 — Money

*2026-09-14, version 3.2.15*

No way I have to spend money to try to be healthy these days?? And what happened to apps costing money to download, not downloading them, signing up, getting excited and then realising it costs like $15 a week? It should not be that expensive.

### 1/5 — No trial

*2026-09-14*

No one will pay for it after speding time setting it up for no reason

### 1/5 — I hate this

*2026-09-10, version 3.2.15*

IM JUST A KID WHI WANTS LESS SCREEN TIME AND TO BE MORE ACTIVE! AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY 10 DOLLARS A MONTH!! IM A KID! I DONT JUST HAVE MONEY

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-09-08, version 3.2.15*

Over priced

### 1/5 — Bad but good

*2026-09-04, version 3.2.15*

Looked like a great app that I would love to have to save me from my phone but it was 69 dollars a month

### 1/5 — fake free app

*2026-09-04, version 3.2.15*

stop marketing this app as free to its users. you are more concerned about collecting “introductory information about people” than you are about providing a service, you need to pay for an overpriced subscription service to use a single feature of their app. it’s sad to see what the state of “self help” apps have become. its more about making a quick buck than actually helping people. sad and pathetic.

### 5/5 — Actually Works…

*2026-09-17*

I hit a “record” recently in terms of my Screen Time usage. I knew that I had to make a change because I was missing out on making memories in the real world and instead observing other people’s highs and lows. As a result this put me in a vicious cycle of regret, but also having FOMO with respect to social media. I have tried the Screen Time app on my iPhone, I have tried blocking out the social media apps altogether, but nothing was sticking, and I could feel my mental health deteriorating as a direct result of spending so many hours in the day scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling. I tried this out on a whim and I have been using it with success for almost 2 weeks. My time on social media has totaled to 45 minutes a day which is less doom scrolling and more quick checks. I love the feeling of earning my Screen Time minutes and I am very cognizant of how many minutes I want to spend on social media and ensuring that I am not spending any extra time than necessary. I have also noticed that I am gaining solace by sitting in quiet and enjoying the moment instead of reaching for my phone to fill my boredom. This has been a game changer for me and it’s a must for anyone who is serious about digital detoxing, at least in terms of social media and all of the dangers that come with it in terms of mental health.

### 5/5 — Pretty Good

*2026-09-02, version 3.2.15*

I’ve been looking for something like this’s for a while. I used to have minimalist for my Samsung phone and it was great but turn I moved to iPhone and tried it but it ducked for iPhone. I couldn’t seem to find a suitable replacement for a while but this is certainly it. My ability to control my screen time on my phone has shout up dramatically since using this app.

### 5/5 — What a difference!

*2026-09-01, version 3.2.15*

I don’t EVER pay for apps (or in-app purchases) if I don’t have to and I rarely EVER write reviews for apps either. This app has completely changed my life though! Truly! I had the 3-day free trial to give it a go and see what it could do for me and WOW! What a difference I already see! I’ve always wanted to stop my doom (and even hope) scrolling, because the amount of hours the rabbit hole went down was literally all day almost every day! I felt like I had no control over my own life and my own choices and it turned into a real addiction! I’ve tried other app-blocking apps and though they kept me off of there, I always found a way to get around it with loop holes (and mainly a lack of self-control.) I knew I not only needed something to restrict me, (much like a parent would,) but I also needed to find something that replaced my bad habit of scrolling with healthy ones. And this app has done EXACTLY that and more for me! The cute little brain buddy helps too, because of course one wants to help our lil’ guy keep happy! 🥹 On top of that I just found on the website a custom dopamine menu and I need to next see how that might potentially be in the app! (If it isn’t already, please put it in there!)

Nonetheless, in super short, (after a really long review haha) I decided to keep the app AND pay for the annual subscription! 😱 It is currently WELL worth it in my opinion to get my sanity back and to literally feel like I have 2-3 days of time in my one day now that I’m not scrolling anymore! I now feel like I earn my time on social media, which helps my dopamine levels, and I don’t feel like I’m restricted on times like other apps. Instead I can choose these moments throughout the day and I’ve even noticed that I don’t need to be on there for more than a few minutes at a time and then the app blocks me before I go down my usual rabbit hole. I’ve also already noticed I tend to choose to go on WAY less and the emotional rollercoaster (and headaches and extreme overwhelm) I once felt from the constant topic changes on social media have now switched to peace of mind. And I couldn’t be more grateful for it! (Thank you, guys! Truly!!! From the bottom of my heart!! And brain! Haha)

Now to find more healthy options to replace the empty time! Like socializing (in person!) and finding new communities! (As someone who normally has social anxiety I can’t believe I’m saying this!!) But first and foremost, above all, rest!

Thank you again, Unrot!
I can’t appreciate enough that I’ve got my life back now! 🫶💝

### 5/5 — I starting to like it

*2026-08-30, version 3.2.15*

I’m really starting to like this app already and I’m not even all the way in the brain I’d replay funny

### 5/5 — Best app I’ve used

*2026-08-30*

I’ve tried so many different apps to get my off my phone, for years. I’ve returned to many, but none have lasted for more than a few months. I’ve been using Unrot for over a year now, and I’ve never regretted the purchase. The reward-based system actually encourages me to do postive things before scrolling, and limits the amount of scrolling I can do at the same time. I can’t reccomend it enough!

### 5/5 — The best for me

*2026-08-22, version 3.2.15*

5 stars

### 5/5 — Great app!!!

*2026-08-16, version 3.2.15*

This app helped me focus on the real world instead of virtual world. The subscription is cheap for such a good app!! Thank you so much Unrot for helping me!!!

### 5/5 — 𝕀 𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕚𝕥

*2026-08-08, version 3.2.14*

I didn’t even try and I already love 𝕚𝕋

### 5/5 — I like this but

*2026-08-08, version 3.2.14*

I sometimes get mad at this when I find that I have blocked something that I need right now. My daughter called me and then tried to share a picture with me on Signal, but I had it blocked so I couldn’t see what she was sharing! And I couldn’t unlock it right away!I need the blocks to remind me to stay on task, so I had to figure out how to unblock Signal. And I did!

### 5/5 — it made me become a better person

*2026-08-07*

yea title or wtv
