## What is Unstill?

Your lock screen can move. Real motion without the twitch.

Here's what decides which you get. When iOS plays a Live Photo on the lock screen, it doesn't play your video. It plays a fraction of a second just before the still frame, stretched out in slow motion. Convert a video the ordinary way and that fraction lands on whatever happened to be there: a pause, a held pose, nothing. You get a photo that twitches.

Unstill is built around that one fact. It finds the moment your wallpaper will actually play and fits real movement into it, so the wave breaks, the sparkler turns, the face looks up, every time you raise your phone.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pick any video from your library, or send one straight from Photos.
2. Slide the filmstrip to choose the frame it comes to rest on. Pinch to zoom down to single frames.
3. Watch the lock screen preview to see how your moment will move.
4. Tap Create. It saves to your library as a Live Photo, ready to set.

WHAT YOU GET

• Real motion: the moment before your still frame is paced to fill the time iOS gives it
• A true lock screen preview, at the right size and shape, before you commit
• Frame-accurate picking, with a filmstrip you can zoom from the whole video down to one frame
• Any video works: your camera, a screen recording, a clip a friend sent, 4K and HDR included
• Portrait framing: pinch and drag to choose what fills the screen
• Share sheet support: start from Photos without opening the app first
• Recents, so a wallpaper you liked is one tap away
• Saves a real Live Photo that works everywhere Live Photos do

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Everything happens on your iPhone. Your videos are never uploaded, never sent to a server, never seen by anyone but you. No account, no sign-in, no tracking.

SETTING IT AS YOUR WALLPAPER

Unstill saves the Live Photo to your library and shows you the steps: Settings > Wallpaper > Add New Wallpaper > Photos, pick it, and turn on the Live Photo toggle. Takes about ten seconds.
