### 2/5 — seems ok but paywalled & privacy concerns

*2025-01-13, version 4.47.3*

The different groups sounded more helpful than they are, at least the one I joined is quite empty. Not much discussion going on. I like the idea of the zoom sessions but it looks like they’re recorded and posted for anyone with the app to see which I’m uncomfortable with since grief is such a personal thing. It’s a paywalled app so the recording would last longer than I would, no thanks.

### 2/5 — It’s more of a place to vent

*2024-09-11, version 4.42.1*

I was looking forward to trying this app, but it’s mostly just people venting and posting their experience with grief, which can be helpful for some, but the comment section on posts don’t really offer any help or guidance. Scrolling the feed actually just makes me more sad and isolated as the replies were just things like, “that’s so sad” or no replies at all, and that’s not what I’m looking for. There ARE some resources that Untangled has provided, but the social aspect is not for me. I found myself feeling worse after reading about everyone else’s sadness. It kinda seems like a personal journal would be more beneficial, but maybe that’s just me.

### 3/5 — Great app till it became a paid one.

*2024-07-31, version 4.39.3*

I loved this app for sometime till I had to pay for a subscription. I really felt a sense of community of support from fellow grieving people but I just couldn’t make sense of having to pay to use this app.

### 4/5 — Good support and community

*2024-06-26, version 4.37.1*

Thank you for providing a community at a time of difficulties.

### 4/5 — The community feels very supportive

*2024-01-08, version 4.26.3*

I’ve only been on the app for a day or two but the community feels very supportive. You can join groups that share similar experiences to your own. For example: “Sudden and Unexpected Loss” or “Cancer” or “Loss of a Parent” to name a few. You can join as many as you’d like. People can share the thoughts and feelings that they’re experiencing, quotes or tips surrounding grief or coping, memories of loved ones, etc. It’s nice to feel less alone.

There are also support groups, seminars, coping tools, help with funeral planning, and more built into the app. I haven’t used these yet, but will eventually try some of them out.

The look and feel of the app feels similar to the earlier versions of the Facebook or Instagram apps. I think that could use a little work to bring make it more user friendly.

### 5/5 — Love this community, super affordable and tons of value

*2023-11-02, version 4.25.1*

This app has been so lovely and helpful during a period of life that is incredibly difficult and isolating. Even if you’re scared to share your own experience (as sometimes I can be) it’s immensely comforting to read other people’s stories that resonate with mine. Highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Alan

*2023-10-29, version 4.25.1*

I joined untangled grief at a very hard time. I have found it very comforting and started grief therapy from there 6 months after my son’s death which has been very helpful xxx

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2023-10-28, version 4.25.1*

A very helpful app that focuses on bringing people together in their time of need. ❤️

### 5/5 — Untangle Grief

*2023-10-27, version 4.25.1*

The app, the community and team have been a lifeline during the most difficult time in my life, losing my partner. The groups, support sessions and coping tools have helped me to I’m not alone in this grief journey whilst supporting others going through a similar journey. I would recommend this app to anyone that has experienced a loss.

### 5/5 — Great app for grief and support

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not cool

*2025-11-12, version 4.82.3*

Why would you hide a fee in an app like this. It’s a monthly subscription ofc, yeah…no thank you

### 1/5 — Abysmal

*2025-06-12, version 4.63.1*

It’s £4.99 a month 🤬 Tried to delete account but it won’t let me and says contact em but I can’t find where to contact them! Can’t delete app as option has been removed, prob by developer. Now in the midst of my grief I’m going to have yet another sleepless night and waste n worry my time away tomorrow trying to rectify situation. The last thing I need is a bill for £4.99 in 14 days. I should have stuck to websites and Sue Ryder which are free🤬🤬

### 1/5 — Not free

*2025-03-03, version 4.47.3*

First screen that pops up is for you to register and pay for a subscription. This is people capitalizing on people’s grief.

### 1/5 — Don’t like it

*2025-01-24, version 4.47.3*

Very hard to use, want to cancel

### 1/5 — Unable to use

*2024-10-30, version 4.45.1*

I can’t even start to use the app. I enter an email address and keep getting the error message “you don’t have access to this community.” I tried both of my email addresses and received the same message. Disappointing. I could use the support…

### 1/5 — Can’t access without paying

*2024-06-21, version 4.37.1*

Shame that a free version is not available. You can’t even access the homepage without providing cc details and signing up. Even with a free 14 day trial, there should be a light/free version so users know what they’re in for

### 1/5 — 14 days free then pay. Hard pass

*2024-04-17, version 4.32.1*

$40/year for message boards? Nope

### 1/5 — Charged immediately and no customer service

*2024-01-01, version 4.26.3*

I wanted to try this app to see if I would like it. I signed up with the 14 day free trial and selected 4.99 a month. The app requires you to choose a plan prior to receiving the free trial. So it’s either 4.99 a month or 39.99 a year.
As soon clicked to install I was immediately charged 12.99. First off why are you charging for a free trial? Second why 12.99? I didn’t see that price anywhere. Third, I’m not finding anyone I can email about this. The introduction message does not allow me to reply. And I don’t see a help section anywhere.
I haven’t even started trying to use this app and I’m already annoyed and over it. I want a refund, immediately, just like you all charged me. Smh

### 1/5 — Can’t Even Login

*2023-12-07, version 4.26.3*

I downloaded the app and the first thing it wants you to do is enter your email in order to receive a link to login. I entered my email and received an error message: “Sorry, you do not have access to this community.” 😡

### 1/5 — Pay to use

*2023-11-26, version 4.26.3*

I didn't even plan on posting or doing much more than reading people's stories to just grieve but I'm not paying for that

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Review of app

*2024-08-06, version 4.39.3*

Very helpful in attaining support for people who are really struggling to find a release and understanding. I’m new but it has already helped me

### 5/5 — So helpful

*2024-07-10, version 4.37.1*

This is a great way to connect with people and the zoom function is great. I work long hours and don’t have a lot of off time to find an in person support group. This provides that, along with personal stories from other app users, and guided meditation. I believe it’s a UK app (please correct me if I’m wrong) but they can tell us here in the states what time in our time zone the meetings or groups will. That’s helpful. I lost a parent and would love more parent loss opportunities for group zooms. They’re occasional but a few more would be awesome. I would 10/10 recommend this app to someone grieving a loss.

### 5/5 — Grief

*2024-06-16, version 4.36.2*

This is a great app to communicate with a community

### 5/5 — Best Grief Group Ever

*2024-05-31, version 4.35.1*

Support, compassion, fellowship, practical information, professional psychological help, lots of topics, real people, mutual support, and more. Affordable and worth at try.

### 5/5 — An early review

*2024-05-13, version 4.34.2*

This app has been helpful for me as it connects me with others going through similar experiences, making me feel less alone. By trying to help and offer support to others, I am better able to understand my own feelings and come up with coping strategies. The group system is beneficial as it prevents strong emotions from clashing. Grief is unique for everyone, and when losing someone to suicide, for example, anger towards the person may arise during the grieving process. This can clash with those who lost someone due to old age. The group system allows everyone to express their truth and emotions without fear of triggering others. Traditional grief groups often include individuals with vastly different situations, which can hinder progress.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-04-19, version 4.32.1*

So supportive

### 5/5 — Alive

*2023-12-22, version 4.26.3*

They have kept me alive and standing even though I wish I wasn’t.

### 5/5 — Amazing community

*2023-12-15, version 4.26.3*

This is just what I was looking for. I have found this app so helpful on my grief journey. The live group sessions are brilliant!

### 5/5 — Lifesaver

*2023-11-22*

Untangle is an integral part of my life. Their program of mutual compassion and support for people in grief is a lifesaver for me. I’m a 75 year old widow living alone with my dogs since my husband died in 2014. I found Untangle in 2023, just when I needed connection with people on a deep level. I’m now connected and connecting. I’m very grateful.

### 5/5 — A real life saver

*2023-11-03, version 4.25.1*

Literally that !! I was not coping at all until I found this app, the lovely people running it & the group of lovely people who I now feel part of
Fabulous
