## What is Until Then?

Until Then - Event Countdown is a clean, ad-free way to count down to the moments you're waiting for.
• Create as many events as you like - birthdays, trips, anniversaries, deadlines - each with its own emoji, color and optional photo. See exactly how long is left, down to the second on the day itself.
• Home Screen widgets in every size, plus Lock Screen widgets
• Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island in the final hours
• Custom reminders - as many as you want, from hours to months before
• Yearly events that roll over automatically for birthdays & anniversaries
• Optional iCloud sync across your iPhone and iPad

I built it for myself because every other countdown app I tried was full of ads and paywalls. I'm sharing it in case it's useful to you too - free, clean, and it'll stay that way.


## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-24

• Siri & Shortcuts - "Hey Siri, what's my next Countdown?" or "How long until Summer Trip in Countdown?". You can also add a countdown by voice, and all three actions work in your own Shortcuts and automations.
• Count up - track the time since something instead of until it: an anniversary, a baby's age, the day you started something new.
• Keep counting after it passes - a countdown can roll straight into counting up when its date arrives, instead of disappearing into Past.
• Live Activity timing - choose how long the "It's here!" celebration stays on your Lock Screen, from 5 minutes to 2 hours.
• Fixes - the Lock Screen countdown now clears itself on time, stays gone once you dismiss it, and picks up a new emoji when you edit an event. Choosing a widget's event is more reliable too.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-27

A handful of features to make your countdowns easier to manage and more fun to share:
• Share your countdowns - Turn any event into a beautiful shareable card showing the days left, ready to post or send to friends.
• Keep time when traveling - A new per-event option that locks an event to its wall-clock time, so noon stays noon no matter what time zone you're in. (Events stay time-zone-aware by default.)
• Sort your list - Order events by soonest, recently added, or alphabetically.
• Tidy past events - Past events now collapse into their own section so your upcoming countdowns stay front and center.
• Duplicate an event - Reuse an event's details in one tap.
• Add to Calendar - Drop any countdown straight into your calendar.
